1 WELCOME TO THE ENGINE SHED PROGRAMME FOR 2018 We have a huge range of activities and events planned for the year. From family friendly craft sessions to technical seminars on digital documentation and seminars on industrial heritage, we hope you will find something of interest. We are continuing to add to our programme, and as well as the events listed here there are also: Weekend and school holiday workshops: We offer different interactive workshops each Saturday and over the school holidays. Advance booking may be required, so please check online to make sure you don’t miss out. Insight Tours: Our behind the scenes guided tours of conservation work on sites and collections give you access to areas usually not open to the public. Practical sessions and site visits: Try your hand at craft skills or join us on a site visit to see building conservation issues and interventions up close. Lectures and seminars: Where possible we will make single days of CPD modules available for booking, these will be advertised around a month in advance so please keep checking the website for details. Built in the 1780s, the mill complex was altered many times to keep up with the industry’s changing demands, before it finally closed in 1989. On this Insight Tour join a member of staff from our Conservation Directorate to hear about the award winning project to conserve the mill complex and make it accessible to the public.
