25 MARCH 2021 THE CREEK THIS WEEK Andrews Creek Primary School A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL EVENTS Congratulations to all Kinder students for their magnificent start to their first year Tuesday 30 March of formal schooling. It has been exciting watching our Kinder students flourish and grow in so many ways in such a short time as they settle into life at school. Wheels Day Older siblings and cousins have also been super excited to have their younger Wednesday 31 March sibling/cousin at school. We regularly see older students congregating around Last Day Term 1 the Kinder gate at break times, chatting to our Kinder students. Our Kinder structure looks slightly different this year than in previous years, with 32 Kinder Wednesday 21 April children coming across the week, which means we have different children in the First Day Term 2 class each day. Ms Fenlon has been working in the Kinder this term to help with the Kinder transition and will be working in other classes next term. Monday 26 April ANZAC Day Service Listed below are a few examples of things our Kinder students have been doing so well: School Association AGM • Separating confidently from their parent/carer (which is sometimes harder 7pm for parent/carer than the child); Tues 27 - Fri 30 April • Confidently coming to the office with an adult to deliver a message or STAR Fire Education Program card ; • Transitioning from their Kinder classroom to PE, Music and Library (such a big adventure leaving the classroom); • Learning about and following school expectations and routines. Simple things we take for granted, such as lining up and sitting on the floor quietly, are such a big achievement for our little people; • Meeting and making new friends; • Persevering to complete a task, especially when all they want to do is play; • Interacting with a range of adults at school. We always have two staff members allocated to Kinder duty at recess and lunch times that varies each day, so they have had a lot of new faces to get to know. Continued on next page……. PAGE 1
