Culinary Services Update: Chef Drew is pleased to now have our TV display by the elevator up and running. Residents can view the menu on the screen and if you look at the top bar you can check the current weather. This will be very helpful when deciding what to wear to go outside. The information will be expanded in the coming weeks to include daily menus and activities. Great BBQ Maintenance Department Update: Music In August, Gunter and Tom looked after cleaning all the balconies in the building, and our servers are happy with the installation of a new counter- top and sink in the side wing of the dining room. This month we will finally get the new 12th floor awnings, upgraded A/C, and the automatic door to the main floor bathrooms installed. Chalmers Residents to Receive Fee Subsidy In May, the Board of Directors of the Chalmers Foundation passed a motion to address the hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic for our residents. We are pleased to announce that effective September 1st, current residents who qualify will receive a credit on their account. To qualify, individuals must have resided at the Lodge in May and June 2020, and currently be a resident. Credits will be applied monthly, for four months, from September to December 2020, inclusive. Check your records. The credit is recorded as a separate line item on your monthly Statement of Account. If you have questions, please see Virginia, our Office Manager.
Activities Department Update: Winning prizes at the Current Activities: BBQ! Bingo is now happening in the Solarium. Come play with us, every Tuesday at 2:30pm. As we wait for the new season of "The Crown" to be released in November, come watch the show "Medici", a political family drama set in Florence in the early fifteenth century, every Sunday at 2:30pm in the Solarium. The office is launching a province-wide survey "Staying Apart to Stay Safe: The Effect of Visitor Restrictions on Long-Term Care and Assisted Living. Chalmers Lodge is distributing letters to residents and emails to their families that provides the information and links to ensure everyone can participate.
