VIA University College is one of 6 university colleges in Denmark and, geographically, it covers the Central Denmark Region. Educational Institution: Established in 2008. VIA University College University colleges offer most of the country’s medium-term higher education programmes – also called professional bachelor’s education programmes. VIA educates teachers, pre-school and early childhood learning specialists, nurses, social workers, engineers, designers and much more. Examples of educations: VIA Social Work Education, VIA Teacher Education, VIA Physiotherapy, VIA Film and Transmedia storytelling, VIA Climate and Supply Engineering. The Executive Board consists of: Rector Harald Mikkelsen, Vice Rector Academics Gitte Sommer Harrits, Vice Rector Corporate Administration Kirsten Suhr Bundgaard and Vice Rector Continuing education and Digitalization Bjarne Grøn. 5

Technology understanding Technology understanding is a central qualification in society and especially in the educational system The ambition is to improve these qualifications throughout FOUR COMPETENCES: the education system – Including a project under the Computational empowerment research and development center Digital design and design processes There have been pilot projects in primary and lower secondary Computational thinking school 6-16 years old Digital skills
Learning environments Why Learning environments must be improved to strengthen the study intensity and strengthen the academic content - through the use of new technology and in co- creation with practice. How Digital learning environments have to be didactically incorporated in the educations. Technology understanding must also be a part of the didactics and the quality of teaching Physical areas must be integrated and designed in order to handle the technological possibilities of the future. A part of the transformation process is also to develop new hybrid educational opportunities across our region.

The Teachers ressource center has been funded by the Danish Finance Act since the 1970’s Our mission is to support Danish schools with teaching aids. By the funding we select, consider, test and buy the equipment or material. It’s a succesful Coorperation between a public institution and private providers of teaching aids. 22. september 2021 33

We continuously engage with new developments in digitalization Digital learning environments are part of a holistic approach to boosting the capabilities of individuals and organisations. These environments include: educational videos, webinars, digital guest teachers, courses, online supervision and teamlearning Integrated into a competence development process with both classroom teaching, learning through practice and digital elements. 41
Case I - Digital guest teachers The purpose is to motivate the pupils and give the teachers new inspiration for teaching through more than 50 videoes and podcasts. It is a digital classroom with celebrities (athletes, authors, news hosts, influencers etc.) sharing what they are passionate about Watch them here … and maybe you will recognize our Olympic Champion?
