It is located in the library. Please spread the word and encourage students to come for- ward with their great ideas as to how we can improve student life at BHPS. There have already been some big changes this year and our prefects and SRC have been doing a great job. The Leadership Team wants to ensure that all students have a voice and to inspire leaders from the wider student body so we can implement even more great ideas and propel BHPS into the future. All suggestions need to have a name & class on them. “Everything begins with an idea” Earl Nightingale

Cross Country - Yrs 3-6 Bellevue Hill Public School students walked to Lough Park on Wednesday 21 May to compete in the Annual Cross Country Carnival. The students were supported by many proud parents and grandparents. Conditions were good and a strong sense of camaraderie en- sured the students were all excited and look- ing forward to their respective events. In each event there were more than 30 competitors so competition for places was strong. There were some outstanding performances right across the board in particular Luca and Riley in Year 6, both of whom won their respective events and will represent our school at the Zone Carnival. Congratulations to all of our competitors who completed the course. Doing so was a person- al achievement and indicative of the strength of character that prevails amongst the stu- dents. The challenge now is for us all to train that lit- tle bit harder and improve our standing amongst the other schools and by so doing lift Bellevue Hill Public School into the top 3 posi- tion in our region. Thank you to everyone for your support. Best Regards Darran Rawson– Sport Co Ordinator
Parent Reading Tutor Program We are delighted that after glitch due to COVID Cookie & Muffin Day we can restart our fantastic Parent Tutor Reading Program. For this program to give maximum benefit to students we ideally want to provide 3 tutoring sessions per week for each child on the program. Unfortunately, we do not have sufficient tutors to provide all the help we would like. From Monday, 26 April, our trained volunteers will again begin working with students to develop their reading skills, both in decoding and compre- hension. These tutors give up their time to assist the students of Bellevue Hill Public School. I am most grateful for their help and we look forward to welcoming them into the school. If you know of anyone who would be able to assist for at least 30 minutes per week please have them contact Mrs Beck either through the office or via email – Vivienne.beck@det.nsw.edu.au We hope that soon we will be able to welcome many more volunteers to enable us to provide more support for students. YEAR 6 Fundraiser Cookie and Muffin Day Wednesday, 28th of April NEXT WEEK After a COVID-19 break, It’s finally back! Please support Year 6 by sending a gold coin for your child to purchase delicious cakes, cookies and muffins for recess. Thank you for your support. Time to Celebrate!
