ABOUT THE AREA General Overview Marshfield (population 18,891) is a city in Wood and Marathon counties and the largest city in Wood County, Wisconsin. The city is part of the Marshfield-Wisconsin Rapids MSA and is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 10, MI-13 and MI-97. Marshfield is known for its world-class health care and is home to Marshfield Medical Center, which serves much of Central, Northern, and Western Wisconsin. The city has been ranked SITE one of the best places to live and raise a family in Wisconsin and has several highly ranked public schools. It provides a dense suburban feel with many choices for lodging, dining, shopping, and attractions. There are several attractions within the city such as the 150- acre Wildwood Park and Zoo. Wildwood has become one of the state’s premier parks and leading municipal zoos. There are 3 business/industrial parks within the city: Yellowstone Industrial Park, Mill Creek Business Park, and Norwood Industrial Park.
