Supporting bushfire affected regions
TEQ, in partnership with three Regional Tourism Organisations, will launch a $300,000
campaign to encourage visitors to bushfire affected regions. The campaign, targeting
drive markets, intrastate and interstate visitors, will roll out quickly to minimise school
holiday cancellations and provide travellers with confidence to continue booking holidays
in the Southern Queensland Country, Sunshine Coast and Scenic Rim regions.

The Queensland Government has also announced more than $2.6 million in funding for
infrastructure projects that will drive visitation to the Scenic Rim and take the first steps
towards Binna Burra rebuilding.

Reef experiences shine on snowy backdrop
In an industry first, all seven Regional Tourism Organisations representing the length of
the Great Barrier Reef have collaboratively funded and supported a campaign together
with TEQ's European-based team.

The campaign, which ran from November 2018 to April 2019 with wholesale trade
partners in Germany, sold almost two and a half times more flights into Queensland
than anticipated and saw an increase in German visitors booking campervans for travel
through Queensland.

The campaign positioned the Great Barrier Reef as the ultimate road trip - encouraging
visitor dispersal and increased length of stay. Following the success of the campaign,
phase two will roll out in Europe starting next month.
