Hotdogs, buns, and all the fixings; chips, s’mores, & drinks provided ACTIVITIES: Lawn games for all! Corn hole, ladder ball, lawn darts, bocce ball, or any game you would like to take along. We are looking for MRC members to come out & welcome Ross & Stacy in a low key, informal & fun-filled evening. Volunteers needed for Summer BBQs! We will be having church BBQs on July 1 and August 12. If you are interested in helping out, there is a signup sheet at the information table. CAMP CORNER—Summer camps are beginning! Encourage our MRC kids by sending them a card while they are at camp. This week Breanna Jansma, Jaylee Kamerman, & Jocelyn Muilenburg will be at Girls Only Camp, Logan Feenstra will be at Saddle Up Camp, Erica Jansma, Alyson Leusink, & Kaylee Dykstra will be at Lodge Camp, and David Vander Zwaag will be at Christian Hockey Camp in Blaine, MN. There are note cards at the information center you can use. Thank you for encouraging the kids in this way! Why I am NOT joining a Life Group! Excuse #10: I’m busy in the fall with harvest. It’s really not a good time for me to join a Life Group. In fact, January and February are really the only months that work for me. Is that ok? Have you considered…This is a tricky one! Life isn’t always consistent, but Life Groups need to be. Without regular time together, a group cannot go deeper than surface level relationships. Is there any way to make it work? Perhaps you can rearrange your schedule or sacrifice some other things. Consistency will be key! The MRC Consistory wishes to thank Rev. Dan De Vries for serving as the MRC Church Moderator on behalf of the West Sioux Classis during the two-year search for our next pastor. Dan has served with distinction and has gone far beyond the pale, providing valuable leadership and expertise to our consistory and staff. Thank you Dan, you have been a blessing to MRC. The MRC Consistory wishes to thank the Rev. Roger Voskuil for serving as our “go to” pastor during the previous two years while searching earnestly for our next Teaching & Preaching Pastor. Your cherished discernments and powerful oratory made Sunday mornings at MRC a joy. We will miss you Pastor Rog and wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors.
Golf Tournament Fundraiser—Denny Vander Sluis and Justin Schrock are in the process of setting up a Golf Tournament Fundraiser for Guatemala but are in need of a few volunteers. If you are interested in helping set this up, please contact Denny or Justin. Thank you! Some of you might be aware and some might not, the MWM deep clean the 4 church kitchens twice per year. In the past we have asked for volunteers to help, as many-hands-make-light- work. But lets face it… summer is a BUSY time for everyone and finding a free night to help clean is hard! MWM has again arranged to have the kitchens professionally cleaned in early July. We are asking for monetary donations to assist in covering the cost of the kitchen cleaning. When you prepare to make your donation we ask you to consider the following… “What is your time worth?” “What is it worth to you to have the professional team clean in order to take one thing off your to-do list?” In your church mailbox you will find an envelope for the donations. There will be a cleaning bucket placed in the information center to collect the donations. Or you can put it in the offering plate - clearly marked as MWM kitchen donation(s). Thank you for your help in this project! The Maurice Women’s Ministry will be hosting a fun ladies night of fellowship to welcome Stacy Hoekstra! Ladies and girls of all ages, join us Sunday evening July 1st at 6:30 at the Triple Box (Justin & Vicki Schrock farm). Please bring a favorite summertime snack to share and a lawn chair or blanket to sit by a bonfire (weather permitting). Feel free to bring a card or gift of encouragement for Stacy as she begins her ministry at MRC alongside Pastor Ross. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5th Grade Retreat—June 19-20 - Calling all students that are leaving 5th grade, sign up to join in the fun at the annual 5th Grade Retreat!
