No photographs to be exhibited in frames or behind glass. Nothing is to be written on the photograph or mount. Photographs to be any size but with a 25.5 cm x 30.5 cm maximum size. All photographs will be attached to display boards using Velcro tabs by our Stewards. COOKERY Judge: Mrs N Ralph, Sturminster Newton 79 A CAKE MADE USING AT LEAST ONE VEGETABLE, to be displayed on a board, no covering required 80 A VICTORIA SANDWICH CAKE, made with three eggs, jam filled, to be displayed on a white paper plate and in a clear plastic bag 81 FIVE EASTER BISCUITS, to be displayed on a white paper plate and in a clear plastic bag 82 FIVE CHEESE SCONES, to be displayed on a white paper plate and in a clear plastic bag 83 CHOCOLATE AND ALMOND EASTER LOAF CAKE, to be displayed on a board, no covering required. Ingredients: For the topping: 150g softened butter 100g dark chocolate 100g caster sugar 50g caster sugar 1 egg, beaten 2 tbsp boiling water 75ml milk Small easter eggs for decoration 200g plain flour 1 tbsp baking powder 100g dark chocolate, chopped 125g marzipan, diced 1. Preheat the oven to 180 C/ 170 C fan oven/ Mk 5. Line a 2lb/ 900g loaf tin with baking parchment. 2. Beat together butter and sugar until light and creamy. Stir in egg and milk gradually, alternating with a spoonful of flour. 3. Fold in remaining flour, the cornflour and the baking powder. Fold in chopped chocolate. 4. Spoon half of the mix into the prepared loaf tin. Add the marzipan, then the remaining cake mix. Bake for 50 minutes, or until a skewer comes out clean when inserted. 5. Leave in the tin to cool slightly while you melt the chocolate for the topping. Melt the chocolate over a pan of simmering water, or in the microwave. 6. Stir the boiling water into the sugar, and then stir all into the chocolate. Set the cake on a rack, and spoon over the chocolate icing. Decorate with small Easter eggs 7. Leave to cool completely for about 2 hours, before slicing.
