Good singing is not the only thing people would expect of you when you get on stage. The way you move, how you present yourself and everything you do while you sing will be a big part of what is called: PERFORMANCE. This workshop will show you what is needed to improve each of the things necessary to create good acting and how to find authenticity and stand out from the crowd. The Acting For Singers workshop will give you an idea of how to position yourself on stage, how to move, how to use your own musicality, how you look and how to perform. All this through a form of work based on building „true emotion” and „following the impulse”. Thanks to the „IMPROV” technique of Chicago – You can try different characters and have a lot of fun. We will be using tools of theatrical work to deepen the musicality of each one. Through laughter, fun exercises You can explore their „stage fright” or „feel stuck” or „have few ideas how to act once we get on stage” and turn weaknesses into their new artistic power. WORLD CHANTS Put your seat belts on and let your self go to undiscovered and new music lands. During this workshop you will learn different usage of voice in different cultures, songs from diverse part of the world and in many different languages. You will experience different voice techniques used in local folklore. You will try “Mugam” from Azerbaijan, or quarter tones from Arabic Music, “white singing” from Eastern Europe and some crazy ornaments from Spanish Flamenco. EuropeanVocalCamp.com

Ian Davidson M.A, B.A (Hons), FHEA A CAPELLA Great RnB singers must possess a mixture of vocal technique, knowledge of vocal effects and have their own unique style. In this class we will analyse some of the most iconic RnB singers, identify how they use vocal effects and learn to apply these effects to repertoire. Singers will be expected to learn 2 songs by heart from a list that will be provided before camp. EAR TRAINING In Ear Training, we will be looking primarily at how to identify the common intervals that are used in Western Music. Why is this important? Well as singers we don't have the luxury of physically being able to see our instrument, like a guitarist or a pianist, and so often we have to rely on our ears and muscle memory. This class will help us to identify intervals and also look at how we can use them in putting together basic harmonies. SINGING DUETS In this class we will be exploring the ways in which we can structure an awesome duet! We will be looking at examples of great duet singing and then pairing off to put what we learn into practice. This class is ideally suited to people who are comfortable singing solo and duetting in front of the rest of the class, and comfortable with singing and formatting harmonies under instruction and on your own. Whilst an audience may enjoy & appreciate hearing a singer with the most perfect vocal technique & range, a singer who gives a performance that has real intent & purpose will have an emotional impact & a lasting impression, in some cases one that will be remembered forever. Everyone surely lives to be that singer! AUDITIONS The very word “Audition” can leave even the most experienced singer a quivering nervous wreck. The pressure to deliver your very best in an unnatural environment with, in some cases crazy time limitations seems like enough to make even the Beyoncé’s of this world want to give up singing forever! For serious singers however, auditions are going to come along at some point & the key to nailing them with just the right amount of confidence is much more about the preparation than the audition itself. From TV shows & West End to local competitions & amateur dramatics, uncontrollable nerves, forgotten lyrics, a bad image & the wrong song choice can be the difference between a yes or no, a celebration or tears. Learn how to take control, showcase the best version of you & prepare for the expected (or unexpected) in this hands on highly interactive session. EuropeanVocalCamp.com
