Special Events Chicago Cubs vs San Diego Padres Chicago Cubs vs Milwaukee Brewers Join us for our annual trip to Wrigley Field to see the “New Join us for a game at American Family Field in Milwaukee. Special Events UNPLUG Illinois Day at Belvidere Park - July 9, 7:30am-9:30pm Plug into Adventure July 9 marks the 4th annual Unplug Illinois Day. As proud supporters of the event, we encourage people to get up, get out, unplug, play and engage with one another through experiences throughout our parks and recreation programs. Be it biking with friends on one of our many trails, getting a workout in at our Fitness Court in Prairie Fields, taking a class or simply cooling off at the William Grady pool, the Park District offers many opportunities to help our community live a happier and healthier life. We invite all Belvidere families to spend the day at our parks enjoying the unplugged outdoors while taking in a new activity or learning a new skill. Time Schedule of Events Code Birdwatching Hike (7:30-8:30am): Join a seasoned guide and learn about local birds residing in the park. Pre-registration 7:30am 209291-01 required and limited to first 15 participants. For best results, bring binoculars and a camera Duck Derby: This annual fundraiser for Special Recreation programming features 600 rubber ducks swimming from the 9am NA Baltic Mill. No registration required, come and cheer on the ducks. For more information, see page 13. Fishing Clinic; Disc Golf Clinic (10am-12pm): Rockford Fishing Tightlines and Rockford Disc Golf Club will be on hand to 10am NA introduce you or teach you a little more about fishing or disc golf. Can attend if you do not have equipment. 3rd Base After School Program Where You Go Before You go Home! Third Base is a cooperative after school recreation program between the Belvidere Park District and School District #100. Caring and trained staff provide a safe, healthy and fun environment for boys and girls in grades K-5. Our goal at Third Base is to encourage an environment of respect, community, fun and safety. Activities include group games, homework time, parties, arts and crafts. The program operates until 6:00 pm on full days of school. Camp Compass Each week will be full of new games, activities, fieldtrips, and days at the pool (AG) Time: 7am-6pm • Days: Monday-Friday. Preschool 2022-23 Preschool Registration Registration packets for 2022/2023 Belvidere Park District Preschool are available at Rivers Edge Recreation Center. To register, return the completed registration packet along with copy of a birth certificate and one month’s payment of preschool, which secures your child’s place and will be applied as your child’s May payment. Monthly EFT payments will be withdrawn on the 1st of every month beginning September 1, 2022. Payment made for the full year at time of registration will receive a 5% discount. Basic kindergarten readiness skills will also be taught including listen- ing, scissor and writing skills, and the beginning of alphabet and number recognition. Cost for replacement pass: $10. Adult Swim Swim breaks will be taken each hour to allow for a 10-minute adult swim for those 18+ years. This time is for children to rest, reapply sunblock, use the restroom, eat a snack and hydrate. When the tempera- ture or heat index is 90° or above, the pool managers will implement an adult swim break, with the first 5 minutes being adult swim and the remaining 5 will be an all-out Lifeguard break to hydrate and cool off. Thank you for your understanding. William Grady Pool Closings The pool will be closed for public swimming if the air temperature is below 68° or at the manager’s discretion based on inclement weather, low attendance (20 or less swimmers by 2pm) or unusual circumstances. If the pool closes due to inclement weather, guests that have paid the daily fee within 45 minutes of closing will receive a 1 day guest pass for the 2022 season per person paid with receipt. PRIVATE POOL RENTALS William Grady Pool Reserve WGP for your very own private pool party! The perfect place for a family reunion, graduation, special birthday, company picnic or sum- Rentals mer gathering with friends. Rentals are on a first come, first paid basis. A minimum 14 days notice is needed. Rental rates are for 2 hours in length. You may bring your own food to enjoy or concession deck areas. Date availability and times are dependent on previously scheduled pro- grams. For more information or to schedule your pool rental, call Scott Meyer, Facilities Supervisor at 815-547-5711 x35 Large & Wading # of Guests 1-50 51-100 2022 rates $300/2 hours $600/2 hours CABANA RENTALS When you come to the pool wouldn’t it be nice to have a designated space for your stuff and group? Rent one of our two cabanas for your private use. You can rent for a minimum of two hours, up to six hours. Cabana rentals include exclusive use of the cabana and entrance fee into the pool for the day, for the group. 1-30 $150 PATRONS 2 HOURS SUMMER CAMP Bring your Summer Camp out to WGP and cool off with us. We work with you to ensure that your campers have a safe and fun environment to swim in this summer. Special group rates for 20 or more. Groups are welcome to GROUPS attend daily, weekly, monthly or seasonally. All groups require prior approval and training before visiting the pool. Call Scott Meyer, Facilities Supervisor, 815-547-5711 x35 to reserve your time. All groups MUST attend an orientation and preschedule their visit prior to coming to the pool. Important Rules to Remember Requirement mandated by the Illinois State Health Department: All patrons MUST wear appropriate swimwear. No athletic wear. More information on belviderepark.org. All toddlers MUST wear a swim diaper or rubber pants. Swim diapers can be purchased at the front desk. A regular diaper will not be permitted in the pool. Children 8 years old and under must be always accompanied by someone at least 14 years of age. All lifejackets (PFD) must have Coast Guard Approval. Lifejackets are available upon request with deposit. No refunds will be given for paid admission. Additional rules are posted online and at the William Grady Pool Lifeguards are on duty to enforce rules, respond to emergencies and ensure your safety. You are responsible for knowing where your children are at all times. NASR programs are open to any individual with disability-related special needs such as physical, mental and developmental disabilities and persons with mental illness, behavior disorders and visual or hearing impairments. Special Recreation Camp Horizon will embark on a weekly adventure … Choose which ones you want to participate in, from pirates to animals to water to slime to so much more! Each week of camp, campers will ex- plore their adventure through themed activities, summertime snacks, crafts, wacky experiments, swimming at the William Grady Pool, visitors, field trips, and playing at different parts of the park district. Breakfast and snack will be included, and campers are required to bring a cold lunch every day. If you are new to Camp Horizon, please contact Sean Cramer to complete an Intake Assess- ment before registering for the summer. This year, all campers will receive a tie-dyed shirt!
