Parks and Recreation Department News Miamisburg Community Before: Center Renovations! The Parks & Recreation Department is excited about the positive changes to the Miamisburg Community Center to allow better service to the community. Our facilities staff have been hard at work updating and modernizing the Center. The most noticeable change is the fresh coat of paint on nearly every wall in the Center. The color pallet consists of creamy neutrals and modern grays to compliment the new modern décor. Our fitness equipment has been moved from the basement to a beautiful sunny location in the East Wing, which has updated flooring and a new large picture window (photo 1 & 3). Round tables have been introduced to the West Wing instead of the banquet-style tables to allow the space to be more versatile and are easier to move for any dynamic programming needs. Also, a modern, easy-to-use After: sound system and projector have been installed in the West Wing as well. Nearly all fluorescent lighting has been upgraded to LEDs – more energy efficient, and much brighter! The meeting spaces in the Center have also received updates, including new furniture. Office spaces located in the Community Center have been re-assessed, allowing for a childcare room to be introduced which offers a trained professional to provide childcare while parents, grandparents, and other guardians utilize the many programs we have to offer. This is all just the beginning! More changes are to come… stay tuned! Article by: Shelby Spurlock Photos by: Samantha Kohli PlayMiamisburg.com • 937.866.8999 7
