What is Study in Greece – SiG non-profit, non-governmental initiative, established in March 2017 (action initiated in December 2014). Part of its core mission: • promotion and support of educational opportunities and activities in Greece for international students • provision of information for studying and living in Greece • development, support and implementation of educational programs and activities aims to act as a cultural and educational bridge between Greece and other countries.
SiG team consists of people from the academic area, faculty members, university students and PhDs. Study in Greece merits the auspices of the Ministries: • Foreign Affairs (http://www.mfa.gr) • Education, Research, and Religious Affairs (http://www.minedu.gov.gr). • Tourism (http://http://www.mintour.gov.gr/) • Ministries and Greek Embassies and Diplomatic Authorities abroad, host a link to the Study in Greece portal on their websites homepages. SiG monthly newsletter is delivered to all Greek HEIs and Faculty members by the Ministry of Education.

What can Study in Greece offer • “One- stop shop” for educational activities • “Do the matching” between Greece and abroad • Based on existing and growing collaborations with Greek Universities, Colleges and other organizations, SiG can plan, organize and implement various educational activities: • Study Abroad Programs • Conferences / Summits • Summer / Winter Schools / Travel Study Programs / Internships • Workshops, etc. • Promotion of activities of the Greek and international educational institutions, international universities, acting as a hub of information. • Developing networking opportunities between visiting researchers and Greek faculty and/or educational institutions.
…some more… • Consultation during the planning process of Programs regarding • the itinerary, • locations and venues, • accommodation and transportation solutions, • permissions related to museums, archaeological sites, etc. • development of the Programs' budget • coordination of administrative and logistical matters of the Program • Create contacts with Greek academics and educational organizations - always based on the Program profile and curriculum- (invite academics to teach courses, offer masterclasses, workshops, guest lectures, etc.). • Explore networking possibilities between study abroad programs and Greek faculty, Greek educational institutions and also other study abroad programs
…and some more… • Develop custom-made programs and activities. • Work with • Program Directors and Faculty to evaluate the Programs and propose improvements for future cycles. • stakeholders to develop innovative program components - connect the goals and the curricula of the Programs with the modern culture, socio-economic situation, and every-day life in Greece. • Develop side events to support the outreach of the program in the local/Greek community
…even more.. • Promote the Programs through the SiG portal over its wide network. • Provide support services for participants • pre-departure material and meetings, • arrival meet-and-assist services, • obtain Greek telephone numbers, • nutrition advices, etc. • Organization, transportation, accommodation fully supported by SIG’s team members, associates and their experience. • SiG coordinators follow the program on a fulltime basis.
Participants from Greece: Added value Success of these programs can be better ensured with the participation of undergraduate or graduate students from Greek educational institutions, since they will: • provide a faster cultural immersion and a better overall experience to the foreign participants, • act as constant contacts with the people, landscapes, monuments, history and every-day life of Greece • strengthen the Programs developing collaborative relationships with Greek educational institutions (along with collaborations with faculty members of those institutions) • Successful example: One Belt One Road Summit, with students from both Chinese and Greek Universities.
