FERPA Release Form For Information Only • PSU cannot provide account information to anyone other than the student unless a Family FERPA password is on file after matriculation Educational • Student fills out form, creates a password parents/relatives/etc can remember Rights • Student must submit form in person to Privacy Records and Registration (WH) • Student must bring photo ID Act • Calling party must know and verbally provide FERPA password.

Dependent VS Independent EFC: Estimated Family Contribution Portland State University: http://www.pdx.edu/- log into banweb to check Financial Aid information • Financial aid correspondence will be sent to your PSU email address • Turn in all requirements, sign terms and conditions & accept award letter offers for loans • Complete entrance counseling & sign promissory notes Limits • Federal Pell Grant funding is limited to 6 years • Stafford Direct Loans have annual and aggregate maximums • Financial aid eligibility is limited to 270 attempted credits
• The academic year at PSU begins with fall term (September) and ends at the end of summer term (August) • PSU awards aid for fall, winter, and spring terms based on (12) full time attendance • Students who want to attend summer will need to revise their award ASAP! (tell Financial Aid) • Registered @ 6 credits minimum to get aid dispersed • Maintaining Eligibility- PASS YOUR CLASSES! • SAP: Satisfactory Academic Progress • GPA: 2.0 • Completion rate: 67% • Credit limit: 270 • If you are having trouble seek help: advisor, tutoring, DRC
Financial Aid Programs 4 Years Free & Transfers Finish Free • Turn in final school transcripts by August 1, 2018 • Federal and State Grants and PSU scholarships pay for BASE tuition and fees first up to 15 credits • PSU will cover any additional base tuition and fees that are not paid for by gov’t grants and PSU scholarships. • Will not cover housing, books, supplies, transportation, deferential tuition and fees, misc. costs • 2.0 GPA and 12 credits per term • Fall, Winter, Spring terms only – Summer term not included

University Charges Tuition & Fees • Tuition: Resident vs. Non-Resident • Differential Program Tuition/Honors • Mandatory Fees (Building, Incidental, Health Service, ASRC) • Course Related Fees (Online fee, lab fee, language fee) • Room & Board • Student Health Insurance • Misc. Fees (i.e. Library fines, locker rental(s), bus/parking pass) • Matriculation Fee (one time fee for all new and transfer students)
WESTERN UNDERGRADUATE EXCHANGE DISCOUNT (WUE) Eligible students receive a tuition discount equal to 150% of resident tuition for up to 18 consecutive terms.* Maintaining Eligibility: GPA 2.0+ 12+ credits www.pdx.edu/student-financial/wue *For academically qualified incoming Freshmen and Transfer students who meet specific criteria. Duration of discount varies depending on eligibility.
MONTHLY ELECTRONIC BILLING STATEMENTS Statement available at my.pdx.edu Email notice sent to student’s pdx.edu email 16th of Each Month Payment Due The 6th of the Following Month

PSU Payment Plan Payment for classes registered is due in full at the beginning of the term. Can’t pay in full by the beginning of the term? Enroll in the PSU Payment Plan by the 6th of the month. Enrollment in plan required each term by the 1st due date Payment information required at set-up Must be currently enrolled for classes
Account Credit Balances: Refunds • All Refunds issued through Direct Deposit or Mailed Check • Students must set up direct deposit through my.pdx.edu • If no refund selection made, refund will be delayed several weeks and will be automatically mailed to address on file • Refunds for dropped classes generally processed within 4- 6 weeks after the second week of the term
Meet with your Financial Coach! The FWC provides confidential, one-on-one meetings with Financial Coaches for students and parents to familiarize themselves with what it means to be financially responsible both during and after college.
