Strong, Smart, and Bold Girls Summer Camp 2020 Weekly Camp Themes Week 1: Adventureland Week June 15 -June 19 **Please Note: This week may not run depending on the number of snow days the Meriden public school system has. If it does not run, we will start camp with Week 2. ** Join us for a fun filled week with all things to let our imagination run wild! Each day will be a different themed adventure where we will visit Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Toontown, and end it all with a day filled with races, challenges, treasure hunts and more in Adventureland! Week 2: Under The Big Top Week June 22 -June 26 Come One. Come All! Prepare to be amazed as Girls Inc. takes a trip to the circus this week. All our crafts, activities and games will be circus themed. We will end the week with a camp-wide circus party that is sure to put P.T. Barnum to shame! *Week 3: Party In The USA Week June 29 -July 3 Break out your red, white, and blue ladies, because this week is all about America! Each day we will be traveling the country and learning all about our famous landmarks and traditions. We will be ending the week with our first camp-wide show of the season for families and friends where girls will show off just how patriotic they are! Week 4: Amazingly Me Week July 6 -July 10 Here at Girls Inc. we believe that every girl should feel empowered, confident, Strong, Smart and Bold. This week of camp will do just that for all of our campers! Girls will learn about female empowerment, self-esteem, and so much more all while doing fun and relaxing crafts and projects that are all designed to make them feel great about themselves. We will end the week with a camp-wide spa party to relax us all even more! *Week 5: Rockstar Week July 13 -July 17 School may be out for summer, but this week the school of rock is in session! Join us for a week that's filled with the spotlight, big hair, and awesome music. We will then end the week with our second camp-wide show for families and friends to see just how much star power we all have! Week 6: Glass Slipper Week July 20 -July 24 Once upon a time at Girls Inc., there was a magical week filled with enchanted adventures and fairy tale fun! During glass slipper week, everything will be centered on our favorite fairy tales and princesses! The games, arts and crafts, and activities are sure to make all of our campers feel like a real princess! On Friday, all campers are cordially invited to attend our annual princess ball. This Girls Inc. summer camp tradition is full of fun games, music, and plenty of dancing! *Week 7: Razzle Dazzle Week July 27 -July 31 Get ready for the big lights and to take center stage because this week is about all things Broadway! Girls will spend the week doing skits, arts and crafts, games and so much more all centered on the theater. Then on Friday, we will end the week with our third camp-wide show for friends and families where the girls will perform to their favorite show tune. Break a leg ladies! Week 8: Creative Campers Week August 3 -August 7 Put on your imagination caps and get ready to get creative this week! Girls will be letting their imaginations run wild as they create one of a kind crafts, projects, and more exploring the world of STEM, and most of all - their imaginations! We will end the week with a camp-wide creation fair for the girls to show all their camp friends all of the crazy concoctions they've created during the week. Week 9: Fun and Fitness Week August 10 -August 14 It's so important to be active at every age. But sometimes, exercising can be boring. This week, however, girls will get up and get active in fun ways that they will be excited for! They will play team sports, relay races, and so much more in a fun and supportive environment! We will then end the week with a camp-wide game off. *Week 10: Splish Splash Week August 17-August 21 **Please Note: Camp Hours for the last day of camp on August 21st are 1pm - 7pm. (with no AM or PM extended care that day).** It's all about water for the last week of camp! Campers will be getting wet and having lots of fun with many water games and activities. Campers will also be getting ready for our all-camp water show, a tradition here at Girls Inc. to wrap up the camp season. *Indicates that there is a camp show for families this week.
Strong, Smart, and Bold Girls Summer Camp 2020 Camp Fees Hours of Operation Camp: Camp Weekly Fee: Monday-Friday $130.00 9:00AM - 3:00PM Morning Extended Weekly Fee: Morning Extended : Monday-Friday $20.00 7:30AM - 9:00AM Afternoon Extended Weekly Fee: Afternoon Extended: Monday-Friday $35.00 3:00PM - 5:30PM Express Registration Sat. February, 22nd from 9AM - 11AM Anyone that comes in to register on that Saturday, will be entered in a raffle for a summer themed basket that includes a $25 gift certificate! In person or online registration available! www.girlsincmeriden.org Girls Inc. provides unlimited spring water for all of our campers to stay hydrated all summer long. PM extended campers will also get a pre-packaged snack late in the day and extra swim time.
Strong, Smart, and Bold Girls Summer Camp 2020 Payment Options Girls Inc. is committed to providing payment options to our families to help alleviate any financial burdens. We now have the capability to set up recurring payments, weekly, monthly, or bi-weekly from a credit card or bank card to help make paying for camp more manageable. Here are the payment plans that we have available: Pay in full for the total balance due at the time of registration. Register for all Option 1: 10 weeks and pay in full and you will receive a 10% discount. Pay monthly. Your balance will be broken down into (5) monthly payments. Option 2: The first payment is due at the time of registration. Pay bi-weekly. Your balance will be broken down into (10) payments. The first Option 3: payment is due at the time of registration. Pay weekly. Your balance will be broken down into (16) payments. The first Option 4: payment is due at the time of registration. At minimum, a deposit of one week and a new membership has to be received to reserve as many weeks as desired. A current Girls Inc. 2020-2021 membership ($30.00 non-refundable fee) is due in full at the time of registration , in addition to the camp fees. All outstanding balances (from previous years) must be paid in full in order to register for the 2020 camp season. All camp fees need to be paid in full by the beginning of each camp week or your spot will be given away. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Financial Assistance The mission of Girls Incorporated is to inspire all girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold. We are committed to bringing the camp experience to all girls regardless of financial capabilities. Girls Inc. does offer financial assistance with eligibility determined on a case by case basis. Families that need assistance have to schedule an appointment to meet with our Executive Director, Michelle Bourdeau at 203-235-7146. Below is a list of documentation that would be needed at the time of your appointment: 2019 tax return and 4 most recent pay stubs If you receive Social Security benefits or Unemployment these documents would be acceptable
Strong, Smart, and Bold Summer Camp 2020 Daily Activity Schedule Everyday at camp, campers will participate in many fun and exciting activities appropriate for their age level. All camp activities are based around the weekly camp themes. Each Unit will participate in Unit activities, swim time with lessons, physical activities & games, and specialty areas. Specialty Area: Arts, Crafts, and Music In this specialty area, we will be combining our regular arts and crafts with a few days of arts and music! Girls will learn how to get creative and express themselves both through music and art! Specialty Area: Mind and Body What Campers should bring to camp daily: In this specialty area, campers will be getting active! Campers must wear sneakers or shoes that have closed They will learn to appreciate an active lifestyle as they backs EVERYDAY! No sandals please. Summer Lunch Program Girls Inc. partners with the Meriden Public Schools during the summer to provide our campers with a nutritional cold lunch during the summer, at no cost to our campers. A menu is sent to families every Monday. Everyday staff will take a head count of who wants the next day’s lunch to ensure a lunch will be reserved for your loved one. It is your responsibility to send in a lunch with your loved one the day(s) they do not want what is being served so we ensure all campers have lunch available for them. Please note that the Menu of the lunches are also available on the smartphone app nutrislice that is used during the school year as well. Please communicate any food allergies or dietary needs prior to the start of the lunch program. Girls Inc. accepts care4kids for our summer camp program. Summer provider agreements are posted on care4kids website in May and those who have an active account should receive it in the mail. Our office staff will be happy to provide support in filling out forms and submitting to care4kids.For those applicants a one week deposit plus membership is due at time of registration, to reserve your loved ones spot. Be aware that if by the time camp starts and your application has not been approved you will need to make scheduled payments until a response is received.
