Summer Calendar 2015 May Term Session: May 11-June 5 Summer 10-week Session: June 8-August 15 Summer Early 5-week Session: June 8-July 11 Summer Seminars: Week 1: June 8-12 Week 2: June 15-19 Week 3: June 22-26 Week 4: July 6-10 Week 5: July 13-17 Late 5 week Session: July 13-August 15 Summer classes are open to all Muskingum students as well as students from other schools who are in the area during the summer. May Term & More 2015: May 11-August 15 Welcome to Muskingum University’s undergraduate summer program – May Term & More. We’ve worked hard to be responsive to what you told us you want so this summer you’ll be able to select from courses which are classroom-based, online or in a blended-delivery format. You will also be able to choose from a range of scheduling formats starting with the intensive May session courses right on through courses offered in 10-week, 5-week and 1- week sessions throughout the summer. Admission & Registration Muskingum University welcomes both currently enrolled and visiting students to enroll in May Term & More courses. Registration for the undergraduate summer program is managed through Graduate & Continuing Studies. Currently-enrolled students should register online for classes using Muskie Link. Visiting students should register by submitting a completed registration form to Graduate & Continuing Studies (117 Montgomery Hall). The registration form is available below, online or by contacting Graduate & Continuing Studies at (740) 826-8038. Registration and payment may also be sent by mail or fax to 740-826-6038 Course registrations will be accepted until the first class meeting. Early registration is encouraged. Before registering for courses, students should refer to the course descriptions in the University Catalog to see if they have met any prerequisites. Visiting students are responsible for ensuring the appropriateness of content and transferability of Muskingum University courses to their home institution. Study Abroad Options In addition to May Term & More, Muskingum University offers a range of exciting study abroad opportunities. Advising Students are encouraged to consult their academic advisers when making course selections and determining appropriate course loads. Tuition Tuition is $470 per credit. Tuition payments or financial aid arrangements (verified by Student Financial Services) and the submission a course registration either through Muskie Link or a registration form must be done to complete registration. Contact the Student Accounts Manager at (740) 826-8118 for further information. Financial Aid Students who enroll for at least 6 credits during May Term & More may be eligible for financial assistance, usually in the form of student loans. Limited work study assistance is available. Click here or contact the office of Student Financial Services at (740) 826-8139 for further information. Living Arrangements, Parking and Meals Residential townhouses with limited kitchen facilities are available. Housing costs are to be determined. Students may cook their meals or purchase breakfasts and lunches at the snack bar. Student parking is conveniently available in designated commuter or residential lots. Students who would like to request housing during May Term & More should contact Student Life at (740) 826-8080. Grades and Credit Hours Grades are assigned according to a scale ranging from A (4.00) to F (0.00). Other grades are WIP (work in progress), I (incomplete), S (satisfactory, C or above), U (unsatisfactory, C- or below), and W (withdrawn). Academic credit is expressed in terms of semester hours. [One semester hours equals 1.67 quarter hours.] Grade reports may be obtained through Muskie Link. Grade reports will be mailed to students upon submission of a written request. Course Add/Drop/Refund Policy During the May Term session, students may make changes to their registration through the end of the first class day, May 13, either using Muskie Link or by submitting an Add/Drop Form (available in the Registrars Office) to Graduate & Continuing Studies. A full tuition refund is given through May 13 for a course drop. Changes to Summer session registrations may be made before the second meeting of a course either through Muskie Link or by submitting an Add/Drop Form (available in the Registrars Office) to Graduate & Continuing Studies. Course Withdrawal/Grading Policy/Refund Policy A student may withdraw from a May Term session course through the 13th class day by submitting a Course Withdrawal Form to Graduate & Continuing Studies. A grade of “W” will be assigned for a course withdrawal; after the 13th day, a grade of “F” will be assigned. There is no tuition refund for course withdrawals. A student may withdraw from a Summer session course by submitting a Course Withdrawal Form prior to the last scheduled meeting of the course. A grade of “W” will be assigned for a course withdrawal. Transcripts Official copies of Muskingum University transcripts are sent upon the student’s written request. Requests are made through the Registrar’s Office by completion of a Transcript Request Form or letter; the signature of the student is required for a transcript to be released. Transcripts are not released for students with overdue University accounts. Final Exams May Term final exams will be given on the last day of class.
