Admission procedure for “Precise and sustainable agriculture” PASA Academic Year 2020/2021 Programme enrolment: requirements, deadlines and procedures General information on admission requirements You can enrol in the 2020/21 academic year from 25/07/2020 to 31/10/2020. Late enrolment is possible until 28/11/2020 with a surcharge. Check general information on enrolment on the University website N.B. If you have a foreign qualification read the specific information before continuing. Methods Admission to the Programme is free of charge, however it is subject to specific curricula and personal preparation requirements. The candidates must: - meet the curricular requirements; - be proficient in the English language (level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference); - fulfil requirements for academic preparation (personal competences and skills); - carefully read the attached call for applications to understand the procedures and the deadlines in order to meet curricula and personal preparation requirements. Failure to pass the verification process precludes enrolment in the course; Curricular Requirements The minimum graduate admission requirement for the Master’s Programme is one of the following: a three year Bachelor’s Degree, the acquisition of at least 180 ECTS credits, or another suitable qualification obtained abroad which is recognized as equivalent. Linguistic Requirements English language skills will be assessed. All Applicants must demonstrate an English Language Proficiency no lower than a B2 level (according to CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) by providing an International Language Certification. The assessment of the B2 level knowledge and skills of the English language is fulfilled if the candidate: - is a citizen of a country whose official language is English or comes from a course of study in English; - has resided in a country whose official language is English for a period at least of 12 months. - having passed an English language exam of a B2 level in the previous Degree Programme at the University of Bologna or at another University Language Centre part of the AICLU (Italian Association of University Language Centres). Please note that this case should be certified through the transcript of records/degree certificate or by an official letter released by the University issuing the Degree. Students that have achieved a Master or Bachelor Degree entirely taught in English or having passed an English taught exam will be examined by an online interview with the Admission Board that will evaluate the language proficiency. Linguistic requirements can be modified due to the health emergency. Assessment of Academic Preparation Admission to the 2nd cycle Degree Programme is subject to the verification of the candidate’s personal preparation. A specific Committee assesses the academic knowledge of Economics and Rural Appraisal, Agronomy and Herbaceous Cultivations, Agricultural Mechanics, Rural Constructions and Agro-Forestry Territory, General Zootechnics, Animal Breeding or Special Zootechnics. Personal preparation is met if the candidate graduated in classes L-25 and L-38 (Ministerial Decree 270/04) or L-20 and L-40 (Ministerial Decree 509/99) and shows a GPA or graduation mark equal to or greater than 90/110 (or foreign equivalent). Alternatively, the candidate is required to take an oral examination which will focus on the academic knowledge mentioned above. The oral examination can be performed by Microsoft Teams or Skype. Since the test is carried out at a minimum university knowledge level, any of the aforementioned undergraduate subjects can be taken as study reference from any Bachelor’s Degree Programme. Application Procedure In order to apply, prospective students need to: 1) register via Studenti Online (www.studenti.unibo.it), 2) select “Admission application", 3) select “Second cycle degree programme”, 4) select “Precise and Sustainable Agriculture” 5) fill in the online form with your data 6) close the procedure 7) when the "application summary" is generated, upload your Self-certification of admission requirements (containing exams, CFU and SSD) PLEASE NOTE: The self-certification form can only be uploaded after having closed the application procedure. Students must attach the following documents to their application: 1. front and back photocopy of a valid ID card/Passport or other valid document of identification, 2. transcript of academic records: Bachelor’s Degree certificate reporting the full list of exams and grades achieved, including final graduation mark (Italian students can attach a self-certification of their 1st cycle Degree, while EU applicants must attach copy of their Diploma Supplement), 3. 5. syllabus: outline/description of main exams given during Bachelor’s studies and relevant to the Master’s Programme (4-5 pages max.) - NON-EU only. Applicants should be aware that – throughout the online application – they will be required to identify their graduation mark or CGPA, as well as the maximum score achievable (for instance 14 out of 20, 65 out of 100, 2.5 out of 4). In order to enrich their application, applicants can also upload additional documents such as: - reference letters, - personal statement of motivation. Application Deadlines The Admission Board will process the application forms according to submissions. Applications for NON-EU applicants shall may be submitted starting May 18, 2020, and ending June 26, 2020. Validation of Application If applicants possess both the curricular requirements and the adequacy of personal preparation, once the application has been validated by the Coordinator on Studenti Online and the Student Administration Office has received the names of the admitted students, the candidate can enrol. In absence of the required Degree title and/or credits in one or more Disciplinary-scientific areas, admission to the Master’s Degree in Precise and Sustainable Agriculture is subject to an oral evaluation. The Admission Board (composed of professors related to a specific disciplinary- scientific area) will verify the knowledge and the proficiency of the candidate. Oral Evaluation - For international students, the interview can be held with Microsoft Teams or Skype. For italian students, the Admission Board may allow the Teams interview under specific and justified circumstances. If you are a non-EU citizen residing abroad read the specific information prepared for you. Enrolment Once you have checked that all the admission requirements have been met, you can enrol via Studenti Online: 1. selct "Registrations" and the Programme “5705 - Precise and Sustainable Agriculture”; 2. complete the enrolment application and attach a digital ID photograph in; 3. pay the first tuition fee instalment. Next steps will be available on Studenti Online. If you have a previous university qualification or have completed university course units, you can apply for an abbreviated Degree Programme. If you are a student with disabilities (with a minimum recognised degree of disability of 66%, or if you have a health certification issued pursuant to Law 104/92), you are entitled to obtain a tuition fee exemption. • (only for non-EU students with EU equivalent status) a copy of your residence permit providing the EU equivalent student status; • (only for non-EU students with residency abroad) a copy of your entry visa for study purposes, or of the receipt confirming you have applied for a residence permit for study purposes (“student”) or a copy of your residence permit for study purposes, if already obtained; • your original university or post-secondary qualification and a certificate listing the exams you have passed, legalized and translated, where applicable; • the declaration of value or the Diploma Supplement or other supporting documents of your qualification; • any documents for the application for an abbreviated study Programme. If you are enrolling by submitting only your entry visa for study purposes, ask the Student Administration Office for an enrolment certificate that you must attach to your residence permit application. Please check in the specific pages when the declaration of value, the translation or the legalization are not required! Deadlines Deadlines can be changed due to the health emergency. ENROLMENT from 25 July 2020 to 31 October 2020 LATE ENROLMENT WITH from 1 November 2020 to 28 November 2020 SURCHARGE Last Date for the Possession of an Italian First-level degree (or December, 17 2020 equivalent) Once enrolled, you will be able to sign up for the "Workplace Safety and Health" course which is mandatory for all students.
