Dear Friends, On behalf of the entire Saint Edward Central Catholic High School family, I welcome you to Tidal Wave 2022, “Celebrating 80 Years”. We thank you for helping us in celebrating our 80th anniversary of being THE choice for a Catholic Education in the Elgin area. St. Edward is a family united by faith and dedicated to providing a high-quality Catholic Education for our students. Tidal Wave has provided essential financial support to sustain excellence in education at St. Edward for over 30 years. We are excited to bring everyone together once again for this special event. Thank you for your support of Tidal Wave and for helping the students of today and tomorrow. This year, we thankfully have the opportunity to congratulate our 2020 honorees in person: Monsignor Daniel Deutsch, class of 1980, and Christine (Hoffman) Rejman, class of 1988, as the Co-Alumni of the Year. The 2020 recipient of the St. Gregory the Great Award is Mrs. AnnMarie Dufelmeier, St. Edward class of 1998, for exemplifying excellence in education. Mr. Mike Rolando is the 2020 recipient of the Loyal Order of St. Edward Award for his contributions to the St. Edward Central Catholic High School football, softball, and baseball programs. We also honor Jennifer and Daniel Davis of Davisware as our Patron of the Year. ST. GREGORY the GREAT AWARD AnnMarie Dufelmeier WITH SINCERE APPRECIATION, we recognize AnnMarie (Woj) Dufelmeier, honoree of the St. Gregory the Great Award for Educational Excellence. AnnMarie is a 1998 graduate of St. Edward High School. She has been a classroom teacher, softball coach and club moderator for the past eleven years. She has helped students excel in literature classes, mentored students preparing the school newspaper and has been the moderator for many memorable, fun-filled proms. AnnMarie has served as Assistant Principal for St. Edward Central Catholic High School the past two years. LOYAL ORDER of ST. EDWARD AWARD Michael Rolando Jilian 2019, Luciano 2023, Mike, Zeke 2021, wife, Teresa, Veronica 2010 MIKE LOVES ST. EDWARD Thank You! HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS! Mike Rolando has been a dedicated coach, parent, and booster of St. Edward High School and its sports programs since 1999. He has been instrumental in recruiting students to St. Edward and encouraging them to become involved in a sport. Mike loves what he does and his records demonstrate his time and enthusiasm for the school and its students. Mike’s football teams qualified for playoffs 7 of the last 11 seasons, conference champs 2010, 2014, 2018, 2019, and 2021. Mike has the most football wins in school history: 75 in 17 years. His softball teams had 19 wins in each of his three years as coach, reaching the school’s first super sectional appearance. His first St. Edward baseball team – 2019 – had 16 wins and made it to the regional championship. He is grateful for the support of his wife and family and the “respectful, good kids and great parents” that support St. Edward Central Catholic High School.
