Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update NSW roadmap to recovery Stay-at-home orders for adults who have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will be lifted from the Monday after NSW passes the 70 per cent double vaccination target. This is expected to be 11 October 2021 and is subject to public health advice. From the Monday after NSW hits the 80 per cent double dose vaccination target (of those aged 16 and over), eased restrictions will allow those who are fully vaccinated to have up to 10 people visit their home, participate in community sport and access hospitality venues (where drinking while standing up will be allowed indoors). All premises will operate at 1 person per 4 square metres indoors, and 1 person per 2 square metres outdoors. Only fully vaccinated people and those with medical exemptions will have access to the freedoms allowed under the ‘Reopening NSW roadmap’. From 1 December 2021 further changes will be introduced including all venues moving to the 2 square metres rule, masks will not be required indoors at offices, indoor pools and nightclubs can reopen and unvaccinated people will have greater freedoms. The COVID-19 check-in card provides a quicker, alternative digital check-in method. The COVID-19 check-in card is a hard copy with a secure, unique QR code that contains a customer’s registered contact details, including name and phone number. When you arrive at a business, you can present your card and have it scanned by a business as an alternative digital check-in method. When a business scans the QR code on the card, your registered contact details automatically populate in the unique Service NSW business online webform. Your check in information is directly available for NSW Health’s contact tracing team in the event of a positive COVID-19 case. Once you have created your card, you can have it posted to you, or you can download a printable version immediately. If you lose the card, or your contact details change, you simply create a new card. You can register for a COVID-19 check-in card by phoning Service NSW on 13 77 88 or applying online on the Service NSW website https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/create-covid-19-check-card. Note: This check-in method is only available at businesses that have a QR compatible device. It is not mandatory for businesses to accept COVID-19 check-in cards. ST AGNES’ VILLAGE CRAFT GROUP In the May 2021 Village Newsletter, it was suggested to commence a Craft Group for those residents who would like to make gifts to place in the Samaritan Purse – Operation Christmas Child shoebox for the National Shoebox Collection in October 2021. The response was disappointing, hence the craft group has not commenced. If you are interested in anything craft related, beginner or expert, you are most welcome to come along and meet people with similar interests and enjoy a cuppa. Come and learn something new, or be inspired to complete that unfinished craft item you have put away in the cupboard! Knitting, crocheting, sewing, card making and scrapbooking, the list goes on. You don’t have to make gifts for the shoebox. The craft group will meet each Monday afternoon between 1:30pm – 3:30pm in the Tenison Woods Centre. Please phone the Village Office if you are interested on 6584 3515. SAMARITAN’S PURSE OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD In the May and June 2021 editions of the village newsletter, residents were informed about participating in this year’s Operation Christmas Child. The current situation with COVID-19 means the the distribution of boxes may be delayed, but the collection of boxes is going ahead, in order that they can be sent out as soon as restrictions are lifted and the boxes can be safely delivered. Shoeboxes will be collected throughout 1st to 14th November 2021 (for NSW only). All drop off locations will be opening during 1st to 14th November 2021 (for NSW only). Please be assured all collection locations will be adhering to government guidelines for everyone’s safety. A St Agnes’ Village resident has kindly volunteered to assist with the coordination of this, as she has been involved in this ministry for a number of years. We would love for interested residents to get together in the Tenison Woods Centre (date to be determined), and put together items in shoe boxes, ready for donating. The children who receive the boxes may be victims of famine, war, natural disasters and disease and many have never received any sort of gift in their short lives. Ready assembled and printed shoeboxes are provided if you decide to take part. These shoeboxes of gifts bring a little joy to children in need and show them that they have not been forgotten. If you would be interested in participating, please contact Jody in the Village Office on 6584 3515. Alternatively, you can contact Samaritan’s Purse Australia directly on 1300 884 468 or access their website: https://www.samaritanspurse.org.au/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/

WASPS/HORNETS Please keep an eye out for wasps or hornets which can build their nests in various places around the exterior of your villa. Please also be careful when checking your mailbox. Residents have experienced wasps nested in their mailbox. It is a good idea to spray your mailbox regularly with fly spray.
