A Note from Director Community Paul Simmons Events & Take an Outdoor Adventure with Us! As I assume is the case with many of you, the ups and downs we’ve experienced over the last two years have me feeling weary at times. There are a lot of reasons for this and they are likely different for each of us yet nonetheless real. And, I think it is fair to admit that we all have shouldered some element of burden compared to where we started. Yet, I continue to rise out of bed every day with a sense of optimism that things are beginning to shift. I remind myself that finding moments of hope and ways to take care of myself helps me to feel more resilient and better able to support my family, friends and co-workers. Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation is proud to provide the community with ways to foster hope and wellbeing. It could be a peaceful visit to a trail or open space, socializing while participating in or spectating at recreational sports, or learning something new from a knowledgeable and passionate instructor at The Olympia Center. I encourage you to engage with the parks, facilities and services provided by our staff this spring and summer. And I dream that those opportunities do provide that ray of light that we all long for.
