Jason Weinstein Assistant Director, Workforce Partnerships & Employment Services Sharing career lessons Jason Weinstein hit his professional stride when he started working as a recruiter in the healthcare industry. After several promotions and a change of employers, his career path led to his current role at LaGuardia as Assistant Director of Workforce Partnerships & Employment Services in The Learning & Innovation Center’s (LIC2) Career Development Center. In this capacity, Jason manages the team that provides job readiness services and employment assistance to non-credit students. He also works as part of a larger team that uses labor market information to develop industry/employer partnerships for LIC2 training programs and the broader college. “The most rewarding thing about this work is being able to play a part in our students’ professional and personal growth as well as their career advancement,” says Jason. He also notes that working with employers helps to bridge the gap between student and industry needs. Currently working towards a Master Degree in Higher Education Administration, Jason explains that he uses his own experiences in his career journey to help the students he advises. “I learned how important networking, professionalism and communication is. I enjoy sharing these lessons with our students,” he says, adding that his team helps set them on a career pathway that allows them to provide for themselves and their families.
