“ I completed my PhD in VU’s Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and wrote my thesis on how robots can learn by imitation of human movements. After I graduated I entered the US with a Green Card lottery. Not long after landing in the States I was offered the job at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. In the first 12 years I made my way through the ranks to senior research assistant. I have many plans for the future. One is to build solar energy infrastructure at the South Pole of the Moon. Another is to find a solution to help elderly and sick people move from bed to the bathroom, or to a wheelchair, unassisted. I can hardly think of a greater satisfaction than seeing this done as a contribution to humanity.” Professor Adrian Stoica Senior Research Scientist, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory Professor Adrian Stoica with a replica of the Mars Rover his team at NASA helped develop.
