TRAVELER’S CIRCLE Occasional Saturday evenings| Saturday, June 22|5:30 - 8:00 pm | MSAC Activity Room, 58 Barre Street Mark Laxer has hosted travel storytelling gatherings in Washington DC and Cambridge VT, since 1996. The idea is for people to gather at leisure to share stories, culture and an optional potluck. The format of a TC is largely informal, and all ages and backgrounds are welcome. The idea is that everyone has a story. A TC isn’t about hearing just one or two people, or a small number of experts. No one applies or pays, and it isn’t com- petitive or a series of lectures. People who attend don’t have to tell a story, but doing so is gently encour- aged. There is typically a suggested theme or two, to start things off. Travel stories are the backbone of the gathering. People hear a story, and it may spark ideas for the next story. Attendees are encouraged to listen and to develop their own voices. Suggested themes will be provided in advance, but stories can be about any travel experience! Free and open to the public; no need to pre-register. GOURMET POTLUCK Join the fun with the Montpelier Gourmet Cooking Meetup! First Friday of each month. All skill levels wel- come! Cutlery and dishes are provided. Stove and microwave available for reheating. (This is potluck, so no cooking on site.) No alcohol, please. $5.00 suggested ($2.00 minimum) donation. THANKS! For more info and monthly theme, please message Rod through www.meetup.com/Montpelier-Gourmet- Cooking-Meetup/, call him at 802-236-0893, or email him at rod@infinitelasertag.com.
