Students will have access to the same incredible programming— IN LATE 2019 in addition to new offerings—that generations of families have enjoyed at Arts Umbrella. With more capacity to provide extraordinary arts education experiences for young people, we’re ready to seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and create the new limitless. The Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia, and the City of Vancouver have contributed generously and we are now working hard to raise an additional $20 million to realize this WELCOME! vision to serve the next generations of young people. Since 1979, Arts Umbrella has provided more than 500,000 young Canadians with profound life experiences through our commitment to innovation, excellence, and inclusivity. Today, Arts Umbrella is an internationally recognized non-profit organization with a powerful vision and unique programming model. It is our great privilege to deliver the highest quality arts education programs, from early learning to advanced professional training programs in the visual and performing arts. Every day, we strive to inspire children and youth to live creative, authentic, and courageous lives. In our 40th year, we are grateful to the many families, donors, sponsors, and volunteers who continue to support our mission to inspire creativity in young people. Thanks to this incredible community, this year alone we will reach close to 20,000 young people, with 80% being served through free community programs, bursaries, and scholarships. I especially want to recognize the extraordinary Arts Umbrella staff who are making such a positive impact on our next generation of artists, innovative thinkers, and compassionate citizens.
