Our new partners Azienda Agricola Garlider Alto Adige In the heart of the breathtaking Isarco Valley in Alto Adige, just south of Bressanone, you’ll find the organic family estate of Azienda Agricola Garlider. Winemaker Christian Kerschbaumer and his wife, Veronika, not only care for native regional grapes like Grüner Veltliner, Müller-Thurgau and Sylvaner but also cultivate the only Pinot Nero vines in the valley. For years Christian’s father, Alois, sold his high-quality crop to the local cooperative, a common practice for many small growers in this mountainous region. Yet since 2000, the younger generation has inspired nothing less than a vinous revolution here, showing the world how intensely flavored and character-rich Isarco Valley wines can be. Azienda Agricola Piero Busso Piedmont The family estate of Piero Busso is a leading name in Barbaresco for its dedication in capturing the natural elegance of Nebbiolo from Neive. Piero Busso’s father planted in 1948 by hand the Nebbiolo vines that today wrap around the family’s house and cellar in cru ‘Albesani.’ Now Piero’s son, Pierguido, and daughter, Emanuela, work side by side with their father and mother, Lucia, in crafting the family’s soulful wines. Indeed, of the top estates in Barbaresco, it is Busso that makes true wines of the soil, each carefully selected, organically raised cru telling a generations-deep story of why this part of Piedmont is so enchanted. Domaine Curot Loire Valley Winemaker Éric Louis can follow his roots in Sancerre as far back as 1860, when his great- grandmother Pauline was an early pioneer in tending vines and bottling her own wines. Her hard work has inspired each succeeding generation here in the Loire Valley, so much so that “Les Celliers de la Pauline” have rightfully earned a place in Sancerrois history. Sauvignon Blanc of course has remained the family’s passion, with hillside vineyards to the southeast of Sancerre in Vinon, renowned for their mineral, silex-rich soils.
