Adult Pottery MUD MIXERS (AGE 16 +) This class of mixed level students will learn to expand their skills with guided in- structions. Demonstrations will include a variety of techniques in coiling, slab, wheel, and surface decorations. Bring a basic tool kit. Class skips September 3rd. Demonstrations weekly. You will work on advanced projects and learn how to control large amounts of clay on the wheel. Students must bring basic tool kit. Class skips September 3rd. (18+) Come play in the clay while the kids are in school. Learn the basics of wheel and hand building in a relaxed and fun environment. The session will begin with a hand building project and then individual instruction will be given to those inter- ested in the wheel. Bring a pottery starter kit to the first class. There will be group demonstrations and individualized instruction. Students work at their own pace. Bring an old towel and pottery tools. We will use a variety of painting media, in- cluding acrylics, gel mediums, oils, watercolor and watercolor pencils. Students will learn some tips and techniques through exercises, but will also have the op- portunity to create some more finished works of art. Beginners will learn the ba- sics while intermediate and advanced students will have the chance to tackle a less proficient painting medium or fine tune their technique and learn some new skills from their fellow classmates. There will be a supply fee, but students are wel- come to bring their own materials to use if they prefer. PORTRAIT DRAWING & PAINTING (14+) Students will learn how to first draw the face, learning about facial features, pro- portions, and shading, and then will move into painting a portrait with oils. Begin- ner and intermediate level students will learn from the basics, while advanced students will fine tune their skills and techniques. Students are encouraged to bring their own supplies. We will use a wide variety of artistic media including paint (watercolor, acrylics, oils), paper mache and recycled materials (optional), ink, pastels and more. Although there is a small supply fee, students are encouraged to bring their own materials as well. We will work from still life, printed imagery of the student's choice, and weather permitting, students will have the chance to learn about plein air painting by venturing outside with our easels and materials for a class or two. Adult Music Adult Group Guitar (AGE 16+) This class serves as an introduction to acoustic guitar. Review basic chords, tun- ing, rhythms, scales, songs, and performance techniques in a fun group setting. Students need to bring their own guitars to class and practice between sessions. Folk Art Fever Summer 2019 Camps published: February 20th Registration starts: March 13th Join Our Circus SPRING BREAK CAMP APRIL 1-5 9am-3pm Run away for a week and join the Circus Party! This heavily performing arts based camp will include juggling, magic and clowns. Visual arts will be incorporated into the week, such as face painting and mask making.
