Moncton Geekfest 2020 Sponsorship Packages Aug. 21 to Aug 23 2020 - Moncton Crowne Plaza Hotel A Celebration Of Geek & Popular Culture For All Ages! Moncton Geekfest is a non-profit, 3 day geek and pop-culture convention. This event features not only a large vendor area to promote local and regional artists and businesses, but a large variety of panels and events for all groups and ages. We specifically attract fans of Literature, Comic Books, Video Games, Board & Card Games, Pop Culture, Television & Movies of All Genres.

Our Mission
Our mission is to give our attendees an amazing and interactive experience as they
celebrate all things geek & pop culture. It's our hope that they will enjoy a variety of games
and activities, while meeting up with old friends and making new ones.
Our Demographics
From kids to adults nearing retirement age,
geek and pop-culture has no boundaries. It
has a powerful draw and isn't gender
specific. Our wide variety of panels &
activities make it possible to attract as
many people as possible. We have events
for all ages, 0-9 year olds, 11 to 15 year
olds, 16+ & 18+. 54% of Canadians*
consider themselves gamers, so we are
aiming to serve as many people as possible from all parts of the maritimes. (According to
the ESAC & stats Can.)
What Do People Do At A Convention Of This Type?
From the simple guest meet & greet to Q&A sessions with industry experts, there are many
panels and activities at these types of conventions. Activities like the Costume Contest
attract all sorts of attendees who make their own costumes (cosplay) and want to show off
or learn how to make even better ones. Panels like Plushy
Building, Cosplay 101, and many more attract both guests
and attendees to share and learn from one another.
Interactive events like the Cosplay Improv, Supernatural
Moncton GeekFest 2020 Sponsorship Request Package Murder Mystery, video game tournaments, and role playing games help not only to make new friends but promote the social aspects of these genres. 18+ panels like “G’s Panel of Doom!” and Cards Against Humanity games give adults a fun break while learning and laughing all at once. Who We Are Our team consists of two parts: the Staff and Volunteers. Volunteers are people from the general public that are passionate about the event and its theme. They are the heart and soul of the event and Geekfest could not happen without them. Perks of volunteering often include free access to the event as well as VIP access or free access to our additional activities. Our Staff Team consists of a group of hard-working people, each with their own position and job.
Moncton GeekFest 2020 Sponsorship Request Package They are all specialised and in charge of sections related to their previous life experiences. This is to allow us to have a strong team and offer our attendees the best event possible. Obviously, one thing we all have in common is the fact that we all identify as geeks! Why We Need You! After successfully growing from one day to three (3) days, we received a lot of feedback from people who had participated and people who did not have the chance to as well. It was clear that we would have to adjust our programming and grow our team if we wanted to have the impact we desired on the community. The last location we held the event was the Crown Plaza Moncton Hotel, but some of the rooms have no wheelchair access and we would not have enough space for all the new panels and events. Due to the lack of options for venues that can host an event our size we have decided to browse for other potential options, such as the Coliseum or the Crossman Center. This change in venue changes the operations cost drastically. As such we are looking for partners in our adventure to be able to provide the absolute best event possible and reach as many attendees as possible.
Moncton GeekFest 2020 Sponsorship Request Package
Our total operating cost for this year should reach about
$15,000. This includes venue, registration, equipment,
hotel rooms for guests & services, etc. Once the cost of
this year is covered we are planning on using our sales
to build up a back fund for next years event. At the
same time as we are a non-profit organization we will
be donating anything above the $15,000 mark to the
Friends of the Moncton Hospital
Foundation--specifically, the Pediatric wing of the
Moncton City Hospital. During the event, prizes donated
to us by vendors are going to be used for a silent
auction. All sales from the auction are going directly to
the charity we’ve selected.
Our goal with your help is to raise the funds we will need to pay for our operating costs as
well as give away any prizes you wish to donate to the charity auction. Please note that we
accept both donations of products and/or services, or monetary sponsorship.
What We Offer
In exchange for your financial support we offer a wide range of
services and visibility that you can use to your advantage. These
advantages ensure your brand will be properly advertised to all of
our attendees.
Moncton GeekFest 2020 Sponsorship Request Package
We are estimating a participation level of between 1000-1500 attendees this year. We
expect to have about 200 Swag bags for our VIP ticket holders that are first come first
served. Please note that regardless of your sponsorship level your sponsorship will give you
vendor privileges. If you would like to reserve only a vendor’s area space please contact
