INTRODUCTION As with the majority of sites the philosophy from the outset has to be planned around the peak traffic flows, local restrictions on parking and traffic routes. organisation and close coordination of our deliveries are essential for the smooth running of the site. The DSM Project/Site manager will be appointed ‘traffic Management Supervisor’ for the project who will be responsible for coordinating deliveries and managing the traffic flow to and from the site to minimise impact on the local area as required, this traffic plan will be amended as required by the project manager or health and safety department as the works progress / site works progress or the situation on site changes. SITE LOCATION The site is located within the outskirts of Luton Centre, the site comprises of a number of buildings that are to be demolished, nonetheless the site is sited within a live hospital, the main A road is the A505 and the existing road infrastructure is suitable and sufficient to facilitate the works. ACCESS TO WORK AREA - PHASE 2 (MAIN WORKS) Access to the site will be via Lewsey Road and then Calnwood Road, we also note that the first section of Calnwood Road is a one way system which has been indicated accordingly. SITE TRANSPORT RULES The proposed works/site access will be as described above via Lewsey Road and then Calnwood Road, vehicle movements/deliveries will be assessed, and larger plant and machinery will be delivered outside of the peak traffic times for the area, we will also use reasonable endeavours to plan vehicle movements to ensure there is no disruption to the local traffic infrastructure and hospital deliveries. We haves assessed the area as being normal amount of public/pedestrian movement within these areas expected for this type of location within close proximity of the local Hospital. The closes school is 1.69miles from site. DSM Have further examined the locality of the site and the following has been noted.
