WHO WE ARE Highly anticipated by both Queen’s University students and the Kingston community, Vogue Charity Fashion Show is an annual performing arts show produced and executed entirely by students at Queen’s University. 22 years in the making, VCFS is both the largest student run fashion shows in Canada and the largest student run club on campus. VCFS aspires to combine all facets of fashion, art, and philanthropy in order to raise money for a deserving charity in the Kingston area. Each year, the fashion show provides students with the opportunity to showcase their creative talents and for ambitious leaders to take action, all while functioning as a symbol of social responsibility. Comprised of over 150 talented and passionate dancers, models, choreographers, student designers, musicians, artists, and a dedicated executive committee, VCFS unites the student body in order to give back to our community through charity and creativity. Along with donating over $500,000 to more than a dozen charities since its inception, VCFS has developed a tight-knit community of club members, alumni, and supporters, all of whom are instrumental in helping us achieve our fundraising goals. We strive to maintain our reputation as one of the best sources of entertainment not only for Queen’s University students, but also for the entire Kingston community. VCFS is extremely proud to be able to give back through its creativity and philanthropy, and we are eager to be able to do it again this year! 02

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENTS Hello to our sponsors! As the Co-Presidents for the 2018-2019 year, we are so excited to present to you our 22nd annual Vogue Charity Fashion Show (VCFS), and our charity of the year, the Sexual Assault Center Kingston (SACK), an organization committed to creating a community free from sexual violence through support, education, and advocacy. VCFS, as the largest student-run undergraduate charity fashion show in Canada, is one of the most highly anticipated events at Queen’s University and within the Kingston community! We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and of the impact that our donations have had, and are motivated to ensure that our donations continue to grow. After a significant and successful 21st show, raising $61,500 for the Canadian Mental Health Association, the VCFS team is delighted to come back this year with even more dedication, creativity, and passion. The growing success of VCFS and our ability to support such important causes in our community would not be possible without the support of our incredible sponsors. It is due to your generosity and commitment to our organization that we are able to continue to showcase the amazing talent and creativity of our student cast and crew, year after year. We look forward to the possibility of working with you and would love to connect personally if you or your organization would like to learn more about VCFS. Sincerely yours, Anushka Garde & Julianna Nemeth (403) 477-8586 | (778) 808-1381 vcfs.pres@gmail.com 04
LETTER FROM CLOTHING SPONSORSHIP Hello, my name is Laura Rubino and I am the 2019 Head of Clothing for the Vogue Charity Fashion Show at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. The clothing department for VCFS is one of the largest, with clothing being required for over nine different scenes in the show, as well as at events that we host throughout the year, such as the annual Pop-Up Shop on campus. In order to bring VCFS to life, we are requesting your help with sponsorship or donation for this years show. Donations such as clothing, gift cards, items for silent auctions, or promotions would help the clothing department to secure the materials needed for our events throughout the year. With your company’s support, VCFS is able to provide clothing items and costumes for our dance scenes. For these scenes we would request that a “stylist transaction” is used; VCFS would borrow clothing from your retail outlets for a period beginning approximately 2 weeks prior to the show until the week following the show’s conclusion, for a total period of approximately 3.5 weeks. To ensure that all clothing items are returned in the condition they were given to us, we collect damage deposits and signed contracts from the dancers wearing the provided clothing items. Our goal as a charity is not only to raise money for a wonderful cause, but to foster an environment in which new artists can thrive. Through your company’s sponsorship we will be able to succeed in providing the best environment for our cast and crew. If you have any further questions about partnering with VCFS, or ways in which you can sponsor or donate, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at vcfs.clothing@gmail.com or (416) 949 2013. I would like to thank you for your time and look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Sincerely, Laura Rubino 05
LETTER FROM INDEPENDENT DESIGN Hello, my name is Brie Miklaucic and I am the 2018-2019 Head Designer of the Vogue Charity Fashion Show at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. Designers take on a large financial burden in choosing to create their collections - on average, between $400-$500 out of pocket. As University students, many talented candidates are unable to design for the show because they cannot finance their collections themselves. This year, we are hoping to help the designers finance their collections through monetary and material sponsorship, with your help. Monetary sponsorship, whether as a cash donation to the designers, or as gift cards, discounts, or promotions at your stores, would be given directly to the designers. Material sponsorship, such as notions, large quantities of fabric, or any vintage clothing would also be greatly appreciated. Finally, donated sewing supplies, such as sewing machines and large quantities of needles, thread, zippers, elastics, etc would go towards teaching novice designers and students who wish to design. Sewing machines and other industrial supplies will be housed in the Vogue Charity Fashion Show where designers and students can check them out and use them for years to come. Our goal this year is to allow all of our talented applicants to design for the show without such a large financial burden while also fostering talent in students that haven’t had the opportunity to learn how to sew or design in the past. We would like to not only raise money for a local charity and support student artists, but also create new artists. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly at vcfs.design@gmail.com or (416) 809 1133 if you would like to discuss this opportunity further. Sincerely, Brie Miklaucic 06
VCFS PRESENTS: TEMPORA MUTANTUR Times change, and we change with them. This year, the Vogue Charity Fashion Show aspires to put forth a thought- provoking performance that encourages its audience to challenge their perceptions on who we are as humans and how we and our surrounding world have come to be. Tempora Mutantur takes us on a journey through time, celebrating the ever captivating elements that make up our universe: those that came before humankind and those that were birthed from our ingenuity. We observe how all these elements continue to thrive and prosper alongside one another today as a united front. Grateful for this opportunity to celebrate the unique roles played by each of the Earth's remarkable masterpieces, we hope to evoke curiosity and awe within as we explore the marvels of our world. Please join VCFS2019 as we showcase our ability to coexist on Earth today while wondering who we may be graced to share it with tomorrow. 07

OUR CHARITY: SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTRE KINGSTON This year we are proud to support the Sexual Assault Centre in Kingston (SACK), an organization that aims to offer free, confidential, and non-judgmental support and counselling to all survivors of sexual violence, regardless of age or gender. Since its inception in 1978, SACK has been contributing to the prevention and awareness of sexual violence in the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox, and Addington communities. Apart from individual counselling sessions, SACK also facilitates workshops, classes, and group events for all members of the Kingston area communities. Their mandate is to promote social change and eventually eradicate sexual violence through a three-pronged approach: support of survivors, community education, and systemic change. The funds raised through VCFS will be distributed to the specific services at SACK that are highest in demand. First, donations can provide capital for the underfunded and highly requested Indigenous Counselling Program as well as for the maintenance and expansion of youth counselling services. In addition, financial support will also enable SACK to launch a pilot project to develop an online chat and text crisis line that will promise to offer year- round 24/7 support to members of the Kingston community. Your partnership with the Vogue Charity Fashion Show this year can enable SACK to expand their programs and connect with a larger audience to spread awareness about this prevalent social issue. We are ecstatic to begin this journey with SACK, and hope that we can count on your support to strengthen the Kingston community and eradicate sexual violence. 09
