We have been outfitting in Cuba for 15 years and have an office in Havana. We were the first booking agency in Spain and we travel with guests to Pamplona every July for the Running of the Bulls. We are not looking to become the biggest booking agency out there. Instead, we prefer to know our clients and to understand their needs and priorities. ALASKA The very essence of all fishing trips to Alaska is the central role that nature and the environment play on our fishing experience. The overwhelming power the Alaskan wilderness, from its size and isolated nature to the multiple layers of its physical geography, make this State an absolute must do trip for all anglers, at least once in their lifetime. A fishing trip to Alaska is as much about journey as it is the fishing and our guests who understand this always seem to get the most out of their trip to this very special place. We don’t represent and book guests in to every single fishing property in Alaska. What we do and offer is a limited yet strong selection of properties that cover a wide spectrum, in terms of experience, price point, and comfort. Some of our properties are very species specific, like the Midnight Sun Live Aboard that focuses almost exclusively on fishing for Northern Pike. Other lodges like Mission Lodge and Rapids Camp Lodge place a high degree of focus on the daily fly outs to the regions’ rivers and streams as part of the regular week long fishing package. We have very comfortable tent camp on the Kanektok River that is a great Alaskan wilderness fishing experience. We also work with Kulik Lodge, which is situated directly on one of the best Rainbow Trout bodies of water that we have ever seen. Aside from its excellent location we particularly like Kulik Lodge because of its flexibility, where anglers have the option of fly out days as part of the trip For more in depth information on our destinations in Alaska, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $4,200 - $10,028 USD, DBL
ARGENTINA Whether you are interested in chasing big sea-run browns down south, Golden Dorado up in the northeast part of the country or floating for rainbows and browns in some of the most beautiful mountain rivers imaginable, Argentina is a true angling paradise! Our three main areas of interest in Argentina are the Ibera Marshlands, up in the north east part of the country for Golden Dorado, the parts of Patagonia to the north and south of Bariloche, for superb trout fishing and the Tierra Del Fuego region in Argentina’s deep south, which offers the best sea run trout fishing on earth. For rainbows and browns, we offer a wide variety of lodges and options, many of which can be mixed and matched to create a fantastic customized trip that can be tailor made to your exact trip requirements and priorities. To the north of Bariloche, our partner and friend Alex Knull runs PRG North. Alex and his crew of world class guides operate a series of exceptional drift boat/camping trips. We also work with the Patagonia River Ranch, Tupiliuke Lodge, San Huberto Lodge and Arroyo Verde Lodge, each of which offer wonderful accommodations, superb fishing and a host of excellent non-angling activities. To the south of Bariloche we work with PRG Trevelin and Rio Manso Lodge, both of which offer excellent dedicated angling programs. If you are unsure of which area will meet your needs or if you’d like advice on where in Argentina to go with non-angling companions on the trip, please don’t hesitate to ask us. We know Argentina and have the country beautifully covered. For more in depth information on our destinations in Argentina, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $4,750 - $10,950 USD, DBL
AUSTRALIA When considering big fish and the best places to find them, Australia has to rank at the top of the list. Found in the north-east section of the country, the offshore area of the Queensland Territory probably holds the largest population of big fish and offers the most diverse species opportunities found anywhere. Our passion for live-aboard operations is well known and we fish this part of the world with what we feel is one of the best operations we’ve ever come across. The Nomad is a truly unique fishing operation and it has to be one of the top five fishing trips for destination anglers. Moored in secluded and extremely remote locations throughout the northern half of the Great Barrier Reef and submerged offshore atolls, guests fly by float plane from Hamilton Island to their floating accommodations on board the Nomad. Able to accommodate up to 14 anglers, the Nomad has just about everything one would find in a more traditional lodge environment. If traditional flats fishing is more your calling, we have an excellent operation up at Exmouth, on the northwest side of the Australian continent. The NIngaloo Reef and vast Exmouth Reef area have fast become one of the “must visit” Permit meccas on the planet. Head guide Brett Wolfe has figured out the Indo Pacific Permit and his guests have landed over 90 permit on the fly in the last couple of years. Other species include GT’s, small Black Marlin on the fly, Sailfish and Queen Fish. For more in depth information on our destinations in Australia, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $4,100 - $7,900 USD, DBL
BAHAMAS With 700 islands scattered over a 100,000 square mile archipelago, The Bahamas are an extraordinary kaleidoscope of azure waters and breathtaking vistas. The gin-clear water that surrounds these beautiful islands is extremely shallow and there are more flats per square mile found in this island nation than in any other country. This is serious bonefish country and while there are other flats species available during certain times of the year, it’s the prodigious numbers of big bonefish that consistently attract anglers to this beautiful and unique island nation. We love The Bahamas as an angling destination because of the wonderful diversity of each of the islands. Virtually all of the larger islands have their own distinct character that goes well beyond geography. One of the bi-products of this diversity is the requirement for “inside knowledge” given the numerous options available. Some guests like to have nightlife, clubs and casinos as part of their bonefish trip while others prefer the solitude, peace and quiet of the remote outer islands. Whatever the preference, Slipstream Angling has The Bahamas thoroughly covered with a variety of trips to several of this country’s best islands. The Bahamas is renowned for having some of the finest fishing lodges in the world and Slipstream has fished just about all of them. However, not all lodges are created equal and we have made sure that those we deal with are not operating on past reputations. The quality of the fishing, accommodations, guide skills, food and ambiance are all part of what we look for before we send guests to a Bahamian lodge. For more in depth information on our destinations in the Bahamas, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $3,140 - $10,900 USD, DBL
BELIZE Tucked away on a thin stretch of Caribbean coast in Central America, the small nation of Belize is little known to those who aren’t fishermen or divers. However, for those of us who do love to fish and dive, Belize has long held a mystical place in our sporting conscience. From lush jungle surrounding ancient Mayan ruins to hundreds of islands offshore dotting the coastline, Belize has something to offer just about every angler and outdoor enthusiast. Much of Belize’s mainland is extremely remote and under-populated. Mangrove estuaries dominate the coastline and are ribboned with creeks and rivers that rarely see sport fishermen. Offshore, the rhythm of daily tides reveals a pristine flats eco-system that runs throughout much of the country. Bonefish, permit, tarpon and snook all reside in this excellent shallows-water fishing destination. One of the major physical elements of the country, pervasive in day-to-day life in Belize, is the Barrier Reef. This reef system is the second longest in the world and runs along the entire length of the Belizean coastline. Slipstream has Belize completely dialed in, from San Pedro in the north to Punta Gorda in the south and all points in between. We are the only company that offers fishing trips to all three of Belize’s offshore atolls and have been offering logistically-complex customized trips to Belize for 19 years now. From private residences with executive chefs to our very popular multi destination “Island Hopper” trips, there is nothing we cannot do for our angling guests in Belize. For more in depth information on our destinations in Belize, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $2,900 - $5,600 USD, DBL
BOLDER WON LIVE ABOARD MEXICO As the exclusive booking agent for Mexico’s superb Bolder Won live aboard yacht, the operation started running in 2018 and it’s been fishing beautifully. Operating in the productive state waters of the Yucatan and Quintana Roo, Mexico, The Bolder Won is ideal for families and groups of anglers who are looking for a unique and very private fishing experience. This luxury yacht is the pinnacle of mothership flats fishing experiences, providing anglers the opportunity to stay and fish right in the heart of some of Mexico’s most productive waters. Richly appointed and fully equipped with all the bells and whistles, the Bolder Won is able to offer unsurpassed luxury in some of the most remote and isolated of Mexico’s flats fishing destinations. Aside from the attentive service and wonderful accommodations on board, one of the best aspects of fishing from the Bolder Won is the remarkable level of location and species flexibility that this mothership offers guests. Rio Lagartos and Holbox for a dedicated tarpon trip or out to the remote Chinchorro Banks for a strong mixed bag of species, the Bolder Won will get you there in style and keep you there in unapparelled comfort. BRAZIL The Amazon Basin of Brazil is one of the last frontiers on the planet. Remote, scarcely explored and teaming with wildlife, this vast and ecologically diverse area has long captured the imagination of intrepid adventurers. As an angling destination, Brazil’s Amazon Basin is world renowned for its Peacock Bass fishing. The spectacular beauty of this brightly colored fish, combined with its explosive surface feeding tendencies and predatory nature, makes this location a must for those who love heart pounding, high energy, top water fishing. After several trips to Brazil in the past seven years, we have teamed up with the two best operations working in the Basin; the Aqua Boa Lodge and River Plate Outfitters. Both operations have set the standard for Peacock Bass trips in Brazil with their exacting standards for service, accommodations, safety and proximity to the best fishing grounds. The Aqua Boa Lodge is located in the middle stretch of the Agua Boa River in the Brazilian state of Roraima. It provides fly fishermen access to over a 100 miles of river. It is the only Fly-Fishing Only river in the Amazon, so, unlike some rivers, the fishing stays very fresh all winter. The Agua Boa fishery revolves around lagoons, inland lakes, and the river channel. The River Platte Live aboard is essentially a floating barge comprised of inter-connecting cabins that are moved every day or two. The guest cabins are parked for over-nights on the edges of Caribbean- like beaches in isolated parts of the Amazon jungle tributaries. The barge and cabins cruise the headwaters of these small tributaries. For more in depth information on our destinations in Brazil, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $5,995 - $6,150 USD, DBL

CANADA Canada has been blessed with a vast wilderness, the enormity of which is hard to fully comprehend. Covering 3.8 million square miles, the sheer size and scope of Canada means there are literally hundreds of thousands of rivers, lakes and streams across the country that are rarely if ever fished. Our familiarity with fishing in Canada has allowed us to select the best regions and lodges for targeting specific species and we have strong partnerships across the country. This knowledge should be working for you! The east coast of Canada offers excellent summer and fall Atlantic salmon fishing and we have very good, easy to get to facilities in the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Quebec is almost a country unto itself in terms of its size and how many species are available to anglers. As the largest province in Canada, we have both a North and South Quebec operation from which to choose from. In Western Canada, our partners at the North Seal River Lodge in Manitoba and Wollaston Lake Lodge in Saskatchewan have what can only be described as phenomenal Northern Pike fishing. And further west, in Alberta, we have excellent trout fishing on the Bow River, as well as a variety of excellent trout rivers in the south west part of the province. On the west coast, in British Columbia, we have outstanding destinations for salmon and steelhead fishing. Interested in a luxury helicopter steelhead fishing trip? We’ll be happy to set it up! For more in depth information on our destinations in Canada, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $3,500 - $9,990 USD, DBL
ROUGHING IT The thwap thwap thwap of the helicopter fades out long before we actually lose sight of it. The valley we’ve just been dropped in to feels almost primordial, heavy with a raw power that has to be experienced to fully understand. The new-found silence envelops us like a rolling mist and it’s overwhelming. I’m standing with my friend and client David Anchell and my head guide on New Zealand’s South Island, Anton Donaldson. We’ve been dropped off on the upper section of the appropriately named Rough River and it’s only 8:15 am, meaning that we have about eight hours to cover the roughly 3 miles stretch of the Upper Rough that is ours for the day. On the way in, my eyes widened when the pilot came across the intercom saying that he’d not dropped anyone on this this section of the river in 6 weeks. It’s mid-January and the Cicada Hatch is well underway so we are all intent on using big dry flies to entice the rivers fat browns in to feeding. We are here for the chance to catch a 10-pound Brown Trout, the benchmark that few locations elsewhere on the planet can offer anglers interested in site casting to specific fish. This is my third visit to the Rough River in five years and this particular morning, on the flight in, I’m feeling like I’ve got a fairly good handle on this section of the river. It only takes me five minutes once we land to figure out how wrong I am.
The Rough is an extraordinarily challenging piece of water and its upper sections pose physical demands that are unlike any trout stream I have ever fished. Think the Atlantic Salmon rivers of the Kola Peninsula’s north shore and you will know what I mean. Huge boulders dot the river and its edges while small to medium sized rocks are quite literally scattered everywhere. The footing is beyond treacherous and there are some parts of the upper section that have to be treated with a great deal of concentration and caution. This is not a river that you can fish in a hurry and it certainly isn’t for everyone. However, for those of us who love the river and accept its challenges and difficulties, the rewards of fishing it, are sublime. The scenery is absolutely stunning, with a dense old growth forest lining both sides of the valley. Underneath the forest canopy is a lush fern covered oasis where just about every shade of green imaginable can be found. It’s as though the helicopter has dropped you in to your own personal Jurassic Park. Only without the T Rex chasing you. Then there are the fish. Big, fat, beautiful Brown Trout. Both David and I feel as though we have some unfinished business as we set up our rods. The year before we were dropped off on this same section of the river during a rain storm that didn’t let up and we spent that day scrambling over wet rocks, seeing few fish and watching the river continuously rise at a moderately alarming rate. It was a cold, wet and miserable day that pretty much kicked the stuffing out of the three of us. This morning, however, the sun is shining and conditions are right for an exceptional day. We can feel it! I’m exactly where I’ve wanted to be since I caught my first trout 25 years ago. Today we’re smack dab in the epicenter of The Next Valley Over (I highly recommend said book) where all the angling tomorrows have finally lined up before us, today. The electricity of promise and possibility has a smile on my face that doesn’t fade until I fall asleep that evening.
COOK ISLANDS The Cook Islands have a wonderful kind of shipwrecked quality to them. This island nation is situated in an extremely isolated and remote part of the South Pacific Ocean. Beautiful palm trees, volcanic rock and sand dot the landscape and the Cooks are actually a series of islands and atolls scattered over thousands of miles of the South Pacific Ocean. The area of the Cooks we fish is the Aitutaki Atoll, which is located about a one-hour flight north of Rarotonga, the capital of the Cook Islands. Aitutaki Atoll might just be the most beautiful tropical saltwater location we have ever seen. If you imagine a post card image of the South Pacific, Aitutaki is it! Aside from the stunning natural beauty of Aitutaki, what makes this place so special is the size of the fish found there. We know of no other location on earth that consistently produces larger bonefish and bigger GT’s. Without question, Aitutaki is the place for the angler who is looking for a personal best fish as opposed to numbers of fish. To date, our largest bonefish landed by a client was 14 pounds, with several fish in the 15-18-pound range hooked and lost. The largest GT on the fly so far was a 120-pound monster, which head guide Itu Davey said is definitely a Cook Islands record on the fly. For more in depth information on our destinations in the Cook Islands, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $5,750 USD, DBL
CHILE Aside from world class fly fishing for trout, spending time in the Chilean Patagonia means visiting a land of majestic, unspoiled beauty. Lush forests run to stunning turquoise colored rivers, with snow-capped mountains serving as a panoramic backdrop to nearly every day’s fishing. We have several very strong options for fishing Chile that can be combined to create a highly diverse and varied angling experience. The Base Camp at Rio Palena is a world class lodge situated on the banks of the Rio Palena. With its high degree of comfort and situated in one of the top locations in all of Chile to fish from, The Base Camp Lodge is both beautiful and a perfect set-up. The Temple Camp at Rio Figueroa is a fixed platform tent camp, offering spacious “domo” tents that have everything guests need to be comfortable, while allowing anglers to maximize their time on the water. Located in the upper reaches of the Rio Figueroa, near Lago Verde, this camp is exclusive to four guests at any one time. The Temple Camp is generally used as part of a longer stay trip where guests will add three nights to their seven night stay at the Base Camp Lodge. Anglers with the time and inclination can also book the cross-border Patagonia One trip, offering guests fishing in the Rio Pico area of Argentina for three days before seamlessly traveling the short distance to Chile for seven to ten days. We also have two excellent lodges in the Coyhaique area that are perfect for guests without a lot of time and who still want an excellent traditional lodge based experience. For more in depth information on our destinations in Chile, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $3,975 - $7,350 USD, DBL
CHRISTMAS ISLAND The island nation of Kiribati consists of the 16 former Gilbert Islands, eight Line Islands, eight Phoenix Islands and Ocean Island (Banaba). Part of the Line Islands Group, Christmas Island is the largest coral atoll in the world, with an area of 248 square miles, half of which is land, while the other half is lagoon and sand flats. The Christmas Island Atoll is located approximately 1200 miles south of Hawaii and 145 miles north of the equator. Christmas Island is a “Bucket List” destination trip for all saltwater enthusiasts and everyone who has the saltwater bug should do this trip at least once. The spectacular diversity of species combined with a multitude of fishing environments found at Christmas Island is only part of what makes this a world class fishery. The vast hard packed white sand flats offer some of the finest wading opportunities for bonefish found anywhere on the planet. Throw in superb site casting to tailing trigger fish in super skinny water and combine this technical fishing with the brute strength of fishing to GT’s that can reach 100 pounds and you have a pretty special place. The offshore, blue water option can produce even more great fishing with Tuna, sailfish and huge GT’s. We use The Villages Lodge and Ikari House for our guests who fish Christmas Island and we like these two facilities because they are both clean and comfortable and each property offers a good overall level of guiding experience. For more in depth information on our destinations in Christmas Island, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $2,750 USD, DBL

COSTA RICA Costa Rica is a unique fishing opportunity in that it offers two outstanding fisheries on opposite sides of the country. The Atlantic coast is largely undeveloped and very raw. There are few population centers here and as a result, very little in the way of infrastructure. The North Atlantic region, where we send guests to fish for tarpon and snook, has virtually no roads; the only way in is by plane or boat. What guests will find is unspoiled jungle wilderness and plenty of big tarpon and snook. The Pacific coast is light years away from the Atlantic coast and this side of the country has seen more development and tourism infrastructure put in place. Resort towns like Manuel Antonio, Jaco and the Los Suenos Marina complex have all the facilities found in any tourist location. The Pacific coast of Costa Rica is an extremely productive fishery for pelagics and this is one of the best locations in the world to specifically target sailfish and roosterfish. Also common along this coast are tuna, marlin and dorado. The pacific side of Costa Rica also offers one of our top five favorite lodges in the world. Crocodile Bay Resort is an angler’s dream, with several highly skilled captains and first mates very comfortable with billfish on the fly. This is also an excellent location for anglers who want to bring non-angling spouses and family members. For more in depth information on our destinations in Costa Rica, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $3,150 - $6,950 USD, DBL

CUBA In many respects, Cuba is trapped in a 1950’s time warp that is difficult to understand unless you actually have experienced it. Old cars rumble by crumbling, dilapidated buildings and time seems to drift with the ebb and flow of the tides. The remarkable thing about Cuba is that these unusual conditions have created a hybrid of circumstances that are absolutely captivating. The culture is electric. The people are vibrant and friendly, the music hypnotic and non-stop. Cuba is dynamic, mysterious, contradictory and just plain fascinating. It has so much to offer the destination angler. For anglers, the country and its waters are a fantasy playground of huge bonefish and unspoiled scenery. Our first-time guests are often amazed by the mangrove and pancake- flats paradise they find upon arrival. No other company covers Cuba like Slipstream. We offer many world-class fisheries that keep getting better every year: the Zapata Peninsula, including both Las Salinas and San Lazaro, Cayo Largo, Cayo Romano/ Cruz, Jardines de la Reina, the Isle of Youth, Villa Clara and the Cayo San Felipe National Park. Our logistical ability to get clients to each of these locations is seamless. Our full-time Havana office staff handles all the in-country travel arrangements with extraordinary attention to detail. Our energy and passion for this wonderful country grows daily. We know how Cuba works and we enjoy sharing it with our guests. For more in depth information on our destinations in Cuba, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $2,990 USD - $11,500 USD, DBL
GUATEMALA Over the past decade, Guatemala has proved itself as the finest sailfish destination on the planet. Year after year, the catch rates rise and year after year, more sailfish are brought to the boat than any single location we know of. We exclusively book our guests into the Pacific Fins Lodge. Pacific Fins Lodge is Guatemala’s only beachfront fishing lodge. The lodge is located on a barrier island between the Chiquimulia Canal and the Pacific Ocean. The accommodations consist of two two-story bungalows, (housing 16 - 18 anglers) each bungalow has four rooms - two on the top floor and two on the bottom floor. The spacious rooms are designed with a contemporary theme, and all feature private bath and shower. There are also eight beachfront air-conditioned bedrooms with private bath. The outdoor bar, swimming pool, and Jacuzzi are situated at the top of the property and overlook the Pacific Ocean. While they call the prime season November thru May, Sailfish are caught year- round in Guatemala. Pacific Fins has an amazing fishery, protected by practicing catch and release and by using circle hooks. Sailfish, which range from 70 to- 120 pounds, can be taken year-round. The peak time for ‘sails’ is November - April. The summer months also produce good numbers. May to September is considered the rainy season, but usually it rains only at night for an hour or two. Marlin (Pacific blue, black and striped) can be taken year-round, although they show up more reliably in the fall, from October to December. Marlin in Guatemala will generally range from 200 to 500 pounds. For more in depth information on our destinations in Guatemala, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling. com. $4,455 - 6,595 USD, DBL
EXQUISITE BASTARDS Chasing Permit with a fly rod is certainly not for the faint of heart. Frustration, anger and self-loathing are frequent flyers that accompany all anglers who makes the modestly negligent decision to pick up a fly rod to specifically target this fish. I liken it to that first cigarette of our youth. I mean, what could it hurt? For me, it was not really a conscious choice to go after Permit. I kind of feel like Permit chose me! I say this because the first permit I ever saw stopped me dead in my tracks and completely changed the trajectory of my life in so many different and wonderful ways. I’d only been fly fishing in saltwater for two weeks and on this particular day I was fishing the edge of a flat on the north end of Franks Caye, down in the Sapodilla Cayes of Southern Belize. I’d had a great morning of fishing and was working my way along the edge of the flat, when this big sickle fin started to slice its way through the turtle grass not 15 feet from where I was standing. This particular Permit was chasing shrimp and it was very hungry. The fish was so focused on feeding that it was completely oblivious to my presence. At times, the Permit was half out of the water as it bullied its way through the shallows and I was so close to it that I could see the small shrimp the Permit was feeding on jumping out of the water in every directing as they tried to escape. It was absolutely spellbinding and without question the single most important interaction I have ever had with another species. Since that encounter 20 years ago, I have traveled the world to specifically target Permit, with stops in the Bahamas, Belize, Cuba, Honduras, Mexico, Venezuela, Florida, The Seychelles, Mauritius and Australia. Some of the finest times of my life were on these trips and without question, some of finest people I’ve ever met were on these trips.
Fly fishing for Permit takes a certain personality and it damn sure isn’t for everyone. Given the enormous levels of disappointment that are involved, a certain degree of masochism has to be present within the serious permit angler. As I write this, I sit on 50 Permit landed on the fly. But, I’ve not caught one now in three years, which is so typical of this #$%@ fish. I have hooked and lost Permit in the following ways: Bad knots (at least 5 times), line wrapped around the butt end of the rod, line wrapped around the reel bust offs on coral heads, bust off on fan coral, bent hooks, a broken rod, line wrapped around a button on my shirt (the biggest permit I ever hooked estimated at 35 pounds) fly line that mysteriously broke in half. Heartbreak, rage, disgust, on and on it goes. You have to be a glutton for punishment when Permit fishing with a fly rod because as sure as the sun will shine tomorrow, there will be pain for the permit angler. The pain is coming and there is no getting around it. You need to be willing to embrace it or you should forget this fish altogether. In the late 90’s when I was outfitting in Belize I had a British client who came to Belize for five consecutive years before he finally landed his first Permit. On his second trip, I came down from San Pedro to visit him after his third day of fishing. I was on the dock when he and his guide pulled up after their day on the flats and when I asked him if he’d had any luck, he shook his head dejectedly and said, “No, but lots of shots“. Before I could respond he then said, “They really are exquisite bastards”. To this day, this is the finest description of Permit that I have ever heard.
ICELAND The geological make up of Iceland earns this country with a great label: “Land of Fire and Ice.” These two powerful forces are responsible for creating the Icelandic landscape and its features. Iceland was formed by volcanic activity, which in turn has been sculpted by millions of years of ice erosion. The more we fish Iceland the more we are drawn to the remote and isolated eastern part of the country. This part of Iceland sees few tourists and offers the best chance in the country for landing a 20 pound plus salmon. Another reason why we like the eastern part of the country is the quality of fishing found in this region for species other than Atlantic salmon. Both brown trout and char can be fished for at the same lodges we use for salmon. We have become very partial to the Jokla River Lodge over the past few years because of the excellent variety of fishable beats combined with the opportunity for a 20 pound + Atlantic Salmon. The Jokla River is essentially a 100-kilometer series of beat transitions, from open and wide sections into jagged canyon beats that are as beautiful a fishing environment as we have ever seen. The scenery is extraordinary and the lodge is situated about only 5 miles up-river from the ocean. The food and accommodations are a real strength of the operation, offering excellent meals and an extensive wine list. The dining and social area are a stylish combination of comfortable leather chairs, the fireplace and some great views of the valley. It’s hard to beat! IRELAND Ireland is a visual feast of green hues that are hard to fathom. Every conceivable shade of green is seen while fishing Ireland, along with some lovely “browns” and “silvers”. The pub culture of Ireland is one its great national treasures and at Slipstream, we make sure that our guests are able to experience this special aspect of Irish hospitality as much as you’d like to. We focus our Irish fishing efforts in two areas that are both productive and very different from each other. The first is found in the Nire Valley, about a two hour drive south west of Dublin. The Ballymacarbry area of the valley has a wide variety of excellent brown trout rivers, all within a 20 minute drive of the beautiful guest house where our guests stay when fishing this part of Ireland. The River Siver Suir is an excellent brown trout fishery and offers exceptional dry fly fishing for wild brown trout. Its tributaries, the Nire, Tar and Anner are smaller gin clear rivers with easy wading. Additionally, because of our membership in the Fethard and Killusty Fishing Club, we have access to about 25 miles of private water, all within a 20 minute drive from Ballymacarbry. Our second area of focus is the town of Lismore and the Blackwater River, which offers guests a strong Atlantic salmon fishery. Our friendship with spey casting expert Paul Whelan provides access to the five best beats on the river and there is no one on the planet that knows the Blackwater better than Paul and his team of guides. LESOTHO AFRICA Tucked away in the central highlands of South Africa, is the independent Kingdom of Lesotho. Lesotho is a high-altitude nation that is completely landlocked and encircled by the country of South Africa. Lesotho is dominated by a series of mountain ranges and is crisscrossed by a vast network of rivers whose origins are found in the high mountains, several of which are over 10,000 feet in elevation. The crystal-clear rivers of Lesotho are home to one of the most exceptional Yellowfish populations found anywhere and because the waters are so cool, the Rainbow and Brown Trout populations that were introduced to the area in the 1800’s are thriving in Lesotho’s high mountains streams and rivers. A fly fishing trip to Lesotho is all about dry fly and sight fishing of the highest quality. Yellow fishing as it was millennia ago. With the Makhangoa Community Camp on the Bokong River as your base for the trip, anglers have access to over 20 kilometers of the finest yellow fishing waters available in Southern Africa. Apart from the amazing sight fishing to yellowfish, guests are treated to the rare opportunity of being able to target both rainbow and brown trout in the same river system. In addition to the sublime fly fishing, anglers get to experience the culture and natural beauty of the Lesotho Mountains and her people. The Makhangoa Community Camp, where guests stay when fishing the Bokong River, is a truly exceptional blend of ecotourism with the community and one where the community benefits enormously from anglers who fish there. Jobs and education are just two of the critical spin offs from visiting anglers and we know of no place where anglers have the opportunity to do so much good within the community they are fishing from. LIVE ABOARDS The live aboard concept for a fishing trip has slowly worked its way into mainstream angling consciousness and is now a highly respected method of accessing and enjoying some of the most difficult-to-reach, yet productive fishing areas. At Slipstream, we are big believers in the live-aboard experience. This kind of trip generally means more time on the water, short runs to the fishing grounds, long days, new water and a highly flexible schedule. Gone are the days when anglers had to sacrifice comfort to enjoy a week on a live- aboard operation. Most of today’s live-aboards are designed with the destination angler in mind. To be sure, space is often a premium. However, creature comforts like A/C, flat screen televisions, ice makers, attentive staff and excellent food are all part of the modern live-aboard experience. We have placed a strong company emphasis on this kind of a trip because of the unique nature of the angling experience and the great value that these trips represent. More time on the water is priceless and a live- aboard trip is one of the best ways we know of to take advantage of this. Slipstream Angling offers live-aboard trips to Australia, Belize, The Bahamas, Brazil, British Columbia, Cuba, U.S.A., Mexico and The Seychelles. Each of these trips are as distinct as their locations and we are here to offer advice on which location is right for our anglers based on what your trip priorities may include. MAURITIUS St Brandon’s (CargadosCarajos Shoals) is comprised of a vast network of sand flats, coral ridges and channels running through a myriad of unparalleled angling opportunities. The exquisite flats that dominate the landscape are predominantly made up of white hard packed sand and coral base. For those who love to wade and site cast to large bonefish and permit in skinny water, there are few more gratifying fisheries on earth. While there are fishable areas at St. Brandon’s that are comprised largely of broken coral, by far the majority of the atolls’ flats offer easy wading for just about all levels of conditioning. New at St. Brandon’s is a completed guest house. These new accommodations are fairly basic in terms of amenities but they are clean, comfortable and offer AC in each room. In terms of species, St Brandon’s offers some of the finest big bone fishing opportunities that we know of. Fish up to 15 pounds have been caught over the past several years with larger fish routinely seen and cast to. On an incoming tide guests can expect to see a combination of huge schools of bonefish, along with large cruising singles and doubles. St. Brandon’s also offers some of the best indo pacific permit fishing found anywhere, along with the opportunity to target some absolutely massive GT’s. MEXICO The Yucatan Peninsula – both east and west sides -- offers guests a wonderful array of angling opportunities. Situated between the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, the Yucatan Peninsula comprises the Mexican states of Yucatan, Campeche and Quintana Roo. The eastern side of the Yucatan holds the Sian Ka’an Biosphere, a spectacular 1.3 million acre park made up of tropical rainforests, mangroves, savannas, cenotes, coral reefs, and Mayan ruins. Our Yucatan fishing locations are situated inside this protected area, where no commercial fishing, other than for lobster, is permitted. Casa Blanca Lodge is located near the bottom of the biosphere. The lodge sits on the northern tip of a small coastal island called Isla Punta Pajaros. With the Caribbean Sea just 100 feet away, all rooms at Casa Blanca are seaside. Casa Blanca’s sister lodge, Playa Blanca, is situated further south and is even more remote. Playa Blanca is our favorite lodge in Mexico and if you are lucky enough to get in for a week (it’s always pretty much fully booked) you will see why! On the far western side of the Yucatan, located in the colonial city of Campeche, guests will find one of the most surprising and productive juvenile tarpon fisheries that can be found anywhere. Tarpon Town, run by our friend, Raul Castaneda, is one of the few places we know of that is a virtual guarantee to catch tarpon. The huge mangrove estuary outside of town holds a large population of tarpon in the 5-30-pound range and this is an ideal trip for guests looking to target and catch their first tarpon. Our new live aboard operation in Mexico offers wonderful comfort in some of Mexico’s best fisheries. For more in depth information on our destinations in Mexico, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $3,350 - $4,754 USD, DBL

NEW ZEALAND As the Seychelles are the pinnacle for saltwater fly fishing enthusiasts, New Zealand is without question, the apex global destination for trout anglers. The country is comprised of two main islands, each of which has its own distinct fishing habitats and environments. On the North Island is the country’s largest city, Auckland, where a third of the country’s population resides, along with the capital city of Wellington. The south island is larger and far less inhabited, with its main city of Christchurch. The north island has a couple of superb trout lodges where anglers can target both rainbow and brown trout. Among our favorites is the Tongariro Lodge, which offers an excellent guide network, great accommodations and food, as well as just about the easiest in and out commute from Auckland. For traditionalists who enjoy a lodge with a rich old wood bar, lots of framed trophy shots and a fireplace near the bar, the Tongariro Lodge is pure heaven. The southern island is ideal for those anglers looking to focus on big brown trout on the fly. There are rainbows available in certain parts of the south island but the trophy species in this part of the country are brown trout up to 12 pounds. By far our favorite lodge on the southern island is the spectacular Owen River Lodge. This facility has it all and is a great location for non-anglers too. The dry fly fishing for big browns in this part of the Owen Valley is the best in the world! Another favorite option of ours is the Riverview Lodge, which is found on the other side of the Lewis Pass. The Riverview is beautifully situated in a very favorable location, where the heli fishing is exceptional. Both of these properties can be combined in to one trip, giving anglers the opportunity to fish two different parts of the south island. For more in depth information on our destinations in New Zealand, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $3,450 - $8,825 USD, DBL
PRIVATE RESIDENCES We started to offer private residence trips in Belize 16 years ago. A client had asked us if we could rent him a nice house with a pool so that he could fish all day while knowing his family was comfortable. When he referred to it as “guilt free fishing,” we knew we were onto a great idea! If you’re looking for a unique fishing experience with all the comforts of home, we have some wonderful private residences located on three continents and throughout much of the Caribbean. This is a great option when there are family members or people in the group who don’t fish. In many cases we can add a variety of options to the trip, including an executive chef, golf cart rental, boat and car rental, as well as a host of outdoor day trip activities for non-anglers. Since that first Private Residence trip to Belize, we have expanded our portfolio of private properties to include houses in Argentina, The Bahamas (Abaco, Andros, Grand Bahamas and the Exumas) Belize, Costa Rica, Ireland, the United States (Montana, Texas and Montauk) and Turks and Caicos. The guides will often pick you up at your door and if this is not possible, it’s always just a short ride to the boats. Depending on your priorities, we have the right house to fit just about every possible need. Whether it’s a family vacation or corporate event, our Private Residence option is an excellent way to see and fish one of our destinations. For more in depth information on all of our Private Residences, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com.

ZAPATA PENINSULA, CUBA MARCH 30 - APRIL 6 and APRIL 27 - MAY 4, 2019 One of our favorite fisheries for the past 18 years, these Zapata weeks offer up a wonderful saltwater flats fishing experience. One of the top bonefisheries anywhere, this location is also a very strong juvenile tarpon fishery. Guests will stay just outside the park in a small hotel right on the beach. Good food and excellent fishing during the best new moon phases in the spring of 2019. PRYENEES MOUNTAINS TROUT AND RUNNING WITH THE BULLS SPAIN JUNE 30 - JULY 10, 2019 A trout and gastronomic experience unlike any other. EXMOUTH AUSTRALIA PERMIT AND GT WEEK JANUARY 6 - 13, 2020 We are heading back to the west coast of Australia for our biennial visit to the great fishery in Exmouth, Australia. As saltwater fisheries go, this is one of the most unique destinations we know of and there are few places on earth where anglers can target both Permit and GT’s all in one trip, yet alone the same morning. There is also a very good blue water fishery that holds Sailfish and Black Marlin.
NORTH AND SOUTH ISLAND NEW ZEALAND TROUT SAMPLER JANUARY 21 - FEBRUARY 2, 2020 This trout trip to New Zealand is designed to show off the very best of what the country has to offer in terms of high quality trout fishing. NOTRE DAME FIGHTING IRISH VS NAVY IRELAND TROUT EXTRAVAGANZA AUGUST 27 - SEPTEMBER 4, 2020 This trip combines three of our favorite things; Big time college football, time spent in Ireland and trout fishing. The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame are playing the Navy Midshipmen in Dublin Ireland on August 29, 2020. We have put together a remarkable experience that consists of three nights in downtown Dublin, with tickets for the August 29, 2020 college football game between the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and Navy. We then take guests down to County Tipperary for five nights and four days of Ireland’s best Brown Trout fishing. Irish pub culture and tradition will be on full display on this trip with a Guinness Distillery Tour while in Dublin and an Irish whiskey tasting in Cahir.
RUSSIA Our two fisheries in Russia are an astonishing ten time zones away from each other. In the far east of Russia, the Kamchatka Peninsula is about as remote and isolated a wilderness as you can still find. Our area of interest in this part of Russia is the extraordinary Ozernaya River and its tributaries. The “Oz” is a highly consistent river, holding trophy Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden up to 34 inches, huge Grayling, Chum Salmon, Pink Salmon and King Salmon. I genuinely believe that there is not a more productive river to fish with a fly rod found anywhere else on earth. The direct flight from Anchorage Alaska down to Petropavlovsk has been a game changer for the journey of getting to the Oz but just to get to the shores of this great river, one must have the strength and desire for a true outdoor adventure. Our other area of interest in Russia is the mighty Kola Peninsula. This part of Russia, which borders Norway and Finland, has long enjoyed a richly deserved and somewhat mythical status as the preeminent Atlantic salmon fishery on the planet. Remote and isolated, this part of Russia is sparsely populated, has few roads and like Kamchatka, is difficult to get into and out of, unless you have a helicopter! The largest and most famous of Kola’s Atlantic salmon Rivers are the Ponoi and the Varzuga. The Varzuga is located on the south side of the peninsula while the Ponoi is situated on the Kola’s far eastern shore. For more in depth information on our destinations in Russia, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $8,900 - $16,500 USD, DBL
SEYCHELLES The Seychelles have long been the pinnacle of the sport for traveling anglers. Sitting in the southwest corner of the Indian Ocean, the Seychelles are a series of islands and atolls that consistently offer the best flats fishing found anywhere. This gorgeous island nation boasts huge bonefish, indo pacific permit, milkfish, giant trevally, as well as an assortment of exotic reef species that will challenge anglers of all skill levels. We offer five locations within the Seychelles that are each very strong in their own right. Alphonse Island is the preeminent bonefish fishery on the planet and offers miles of wadeable flats teeming with bonefish. Alphonse offers first class accommodations and dining and makes for an ideal location for non- anglers who want to join the fishing party. While there are other species available inside the St. Francis Lagoon, Alphonse is first and foremost a bonefish destination, where other species should be seen as an added bonus to the trip. These include GT’s and Blue Trevaly, Indo Pacific Permit, Milkfish, and Sailfish outside the reef. Further afield within the country, the outer atolls offer anglers superb fishing that very much feels like you are perched on the edge of the world. The Cosmoledo Atoll is probably the best all-around fishery in existence and we’ve been fishing at Cosmo for over a decade now. Along with huge bonefish, Cosmoledo offers big GT’s and a host of other “well in to the backing” species. Other atolls include Farquhar, Providence and Astove, each of which has its own strengths and unique characteristics. These locations are ideal for anglers looking to specifically target big GT’s on the fly, along with a variety of other secondary species. Accommodations are relatively basic at these outer atolls but when you consider how remote and isolated these destinations are, we’re just grateful for the AC and cold beer. For more in depth information on our destinations in Seychelles, including availability and pricing, please call us toll free at (866) 644-7703 or visit our web site, www.slipstreamangling.com. $9,495 - $13,950 USD, DBL
