SERIOUS FUN THE BDO SUMMER CYCLING ELITE & U23 WOMEN’S ROAD RACE When: Saturday 5 January, 10am CARNIVAL Where: Marine Parade, Napier The Vantage Elite & U23 Road National Championships is New Saddle up and head to Napier between the 4th and the 11th January for Zealand’s premier national road cycling event, attracting New Zealand’s serious fun at the Hawke’s Bay Summer Cycling Carnival 2019. The highly anticipated Elite Men’s Road Race is on the final day and The Time Trial course starts and finishes at Church Road Winery and follows a 166km course over Napier streets and Hawke’s Bay rural travels along Puketapu Road, Apley Road, onto Puketitiri Road and roads. It culminates in a spectacular finish on the beach front of back onto Church Road. This is a free event for spectators. Napier’s famous Marine Parade. SERIOUS FUN IWAY FAMILY FUN RIDE When: Friday 11 January, 4pm to 5pm Where: The Soundshell, Marine Parade, Napier Get your family and friends together and come and ride the 1.1km Criterium circuit down the iconic Marine Parade. The road will be closed, so it will be safe for all ages to ride. Dress up your bike or come in your lycra - whatever you want to wear goes. There will be spot prizes and some serious fun. Start location is The Soundshell. There is a bike up for grabs, kindly donated by Avanti. Make sure you also enter the Avanti Dress Your Bike Competition before the iWay Family Fun Ride kicks off at 4pm. There’s also fun races for kids - for under seven years and under 10 years.
