Tips to the Recruitment Process Although we cannot offer a guaranteed method for successfully securing a position with the CFS, we are happy to provide some tips that will ensure the hiring process runs smoothly. Please keep the following suggestions in mind as you progress through the application process: 1. If your personal contact information changes during the process, inform recruitment@chestermere.ca immediately. 2. Take the time to review all of the material on the City’s website (www.chestermere.ca), including general information about the City and CFS. 3. Make sure that you conform to all of the physical and professional requirements of the job. You do not want to invest the time and money in the process to be disqualified because your education, driving record, health and/or certifications do not meet the minimum qualifications. 4. Being able to accurately follow instructions is an important attribute in firefighting. Make sure you understand and execute any instructions you are given during the hiring process. Failure to do so may affect the final hiring decision. 5. Be patient. Repeated requests for information are not helpful. It is our intention to deliver the most professional and efficient recruitment process possible. 6. You must have accurate copies of the required certifications when you submit your application. If you indicate in your application that you do have a certification and it is discovered that you did not receive that certification until later in the process, you will be disqualified from the current hiring process, and may be deemed ineligible for future hiring. 7. Your attitude and enthusiasm is noted throughout the process and can influence final hiring decision. 2018 CFS Full-Time Firefighter Recruitment 5
