Woodridge Police Department Hosting Car Seat Installation Event, Saturday, Sept. 25 Certified car seat technicians will be on hand to properly install and instruct caregivers on child safety seat use. No appointment is necessary. The car seat installation event is on Saturday, September 25, at 8 a.m. – noon at Cypress Cove (8301 Janes Ave.) Tomorrow! Purchase Tickets 2022 Budget Workshop (Continued) September 28 The next 2022 Woodridge Budget Workshop is on Tuesday, September 28 at 6 p.m. in the Werch Board Room located at Village Hall, 5 Plaza Drive, in Woodridge. This workshop is a continuation of the Tuesday, September 22, workshop. At the workshops, the Village Board will review and discuss the proposed Village budget for Fiscal Year 2022. The Mayor and Village Board value community input and look forward to hearing from you on agenda items. Please visit the public comment website for more information about how to share your budget feedback. In addition, the proposed FY2022 Village Budget is available for review on the Village's website. Clean-Up Day (Amnesty Day) is Around the Corner CLEAN-UP DAY (AMNESTY DAY) is around the corner. Now might be a good time to start preparing for some fall cleaning! On your regular collection day during the first full week of October (October 4 through October 8, 2021), customers of Groot's single-family garbage collection service are allowed to dispose of an unlimited amount of refuse, furniture, carpeting, bulky items and just plain junk. DCHD News Release: Vaccines Work at Preventing COVID-19 Severe Illness COVID-19 vaccines continue to offer the best form of protection against COVID-19 and help prevent severe illness, hospitalization, and death. In DuPage County, 96 percent of COVID-19 cases and 99 percent of related hospitalizations and deaths since December of 2020 have occurred in residents who are not fully vaccinated. The DuPage County Health Department is again urging eligible residents, aged 12 years and older, to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their community. Link: full news release Congratulations to the Woodridge Kiwanis – 30 Years in Woodridge Thirty years ago today, the Kiwanis Club of Woodridge officially applied to become a chartered service organization. The club’s mission is to engage in community service projects and raise money to help children in the Woodridge area and the world. Club members work or live in Woodridge and have a strong desire to help children in the community through service projects and by assisting and supporting other organizations with similar goals. In addition, the Woodridge Kiwanis sponsors the Key Club at Downers Grove South High School and helps the SEASPAR Aktion Club. Lindberg for a virtual program, “Who Really Started the Great Chicago Fire of 1871?” on Thursday, September 30 at 7:00 p.m. #RUNforJEFF2021 5K Run October 3: The Jeffrey Michael Dehlin Memorial Foundation is hosting a 5K Run/1 Mile Walk to raise funds to support its mission.
