Artisan Market at Canterbury Shaker Village 2021 Juried Fair Application Saturday, September 25, 2021, 10am to 5pm Canterbury Shaker Village, Canterbury, NH Returning Artists For 2021, artists returning from past Canterbury Artisan Market shows may apply without the jury process. To apply, please return the completed and signed application and appropriate booth fee as soon as possible, or no later than Saturday, August 28, 2021. Deadline: By Wednesday, August 25, 2021 Cost: 10’ x 10’ space: $60.00 New Artists All new artists to the Canterbury Artisan Market will be juried. To apply, please return the following as soon as possible, or no later than August 25, 2021: o Completed and Signed Application o Completed New Artist Jury Form o Required images for jurying (see New Artist Jury Form) All Artists The booth fee pays for a 10’ x 10’ space at the fair. Artists are responsible for bringing their own tents, tent weights, tables, chairs and displays. This is a rain or shine outdoor event. In extreme weather conditions, i.e. hurricane, the market could be called early. However, occasional pop-up rain showers are not uncommon in September. You may wish to invest in tent sides if your products will be seriously damaged by rain. We kindly request no early dismantling or departures. Displays must remain intact until 5 pm. Failure to abide by this policy will result in future ineligibility for the Market.

Artisan Market at Canterbury Shaker Village 2021 Fair Rules & Policy 1. Exhibitor agrees to indemnify, defend, protect and hold harmless the sponsors, organization and all its associates, the proprietors of the location and all its associates, the municipality where the event is held at and all its associates for any personal injury to himself\herself and his\her associates for any property loss or damages of any nature suffered by any person as a result of the operation of the above mentioned or the exhibitors and especially to the attendees while within the exhibitor’s exhibit space or caused by the exhibitor. 2. Exhibitor agrees should an accident occur within the exhibitors space caused by the exhibitor’s display or debris left by the exhibitor, the exhibitor will be held liable in case of an accident. By applying to any events listed, the exhibitor agrees to save and hold harmless Canterbury Shaker Village, its management, agents, employees, the municipality where the event is held, and sponsors from any liability resulting from such accidents. 3. Exhibitor agrees to provide own tents, tent weights, tables, chairs, racks and display materials. Exhibitor agrees to remove all boxes, paper and trash belonging to them upon vacating their space and to keep his\her space neat in appearance and in good order while selling. 4. Exhibitor’s exhibit or product may not extend beyond the limits of Exhibitor’s space. 5. Exhibitor is required to have booth signage displaying the exhibitor name. 6. Exhibitor agrees to remain open and completely assembled until closing time of event. 7. Exhibitor may not sublet or apportion space to anyone else. Shared Space: Two exhibitors may share a booth providing their work is compatible and complementary. Please submit separate applications with an explanation and arrangements for sharing. Both exhibitors must be accepted through the juried application process to share a booth space. 8. Exhibitors must comply with all applicable state and local laws regarding the sale of their work and with local fire codes with regard to flammability of booth and materials. No ignited flames allowed in display. Smoking is not allowed. 9. Pets are prohibited except for service animals. 10. Electricity is not supplied. Special cases may be made on a case by case basis. 11. All work must be original and entirely hand-made by the vendor. 12. There will be a $30 fee for returned checks.
Applying All new artists must submit for the jury at least 3 images, either as digital images, CD or DVD, or hard copies by post. All new artists must submit one image for his/her booth. Incomplete applications will not be juried. Artists are selected on the basis of Technical Skill, Originality & Creativity, Design & Composition, and Marketability. Applicants will be notified by email of their acceptance to the event, postmarked as follows: Saturday, August 28, 2021 deadline Unacceptable items include: items in violation with the Endangered Species Act, items produced from commercial kits, and work of which the balance is comprised of purchased parts. Approximately 2 weeks prior to the event, you will receive a mailing including event and site information. Information on our site can also be found on our website www.shakers.org. You will receive your exact event placement upon arrival at the event. Exhibiting Exhibitors must display work consistent with the type and quality represented in the submission. Canterbury Shaker Village reserves the right to require removal of objects which are inconsistent with the application submission. The Artisan Market takes place within the Village’s grounds; not all spaces are perfectly level nor can they all be directly reached by vehicle. It is recommended that exhibitors bring appropriate shims to make displays level and bring a hand truck or cart to make mobility easier. If there are specific needs a vendor has regarding mobility or other concerns in booth space, please include a note with the completed application. The Village will comply with requests on a case by case basis. Cancellation After being accepted as an exhibitor and paying your booth fee, you are considered to have made a commitment to exhibit. Your fee will not be refunded if you cancel. Accepted artists who cancel will be ineligible for exhibiting the following year. Exceptions to ineligibility may be considered if you have cancelled for reason of illness or emergency. All fees for show applications and booths are non-refundable. Cancellation by the exhibitor will result in forfeiture of all fees paid up to the date of cancellation. The Artisan Market is a rain or shine event. Booth Oversight Artists must oversee their exhibit at all times and must display their work for the duration of the show. There is no early dismantling of displays or early departures permitted. Booth displays must remain intact until the show ends at 5pm. Each exhibitor will be given 2 extra passes to the event, to enable him/her to provide for booth assistance. If artists wish to have additional family/friends with them, they will need to purchase event tickets. Each exhibitor is responsible for supplying, setting up and taking down their own display. Each exhibitor is responsible for the security of his/her booth. All booths and set up must be dismantled after the Market. The vendor space must be left clean. Thank you!
