10/6/22 Senior Voice The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Street Party! The whole school joined together to celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee. There was delicious food provided by our in-house caterers Holroyd Howe, a cake baking competition, a quiz on The Queen and also artwork displayed. The Jubilee Quiz on The Queen had some challenging questions so a huge well done to Christian Cook, who won the individual award and Forms 7LB and 10JM who won the joint award. It was a fantastic event and one enjoyed by everyone!
The Queen’s Jubilee Cake Competition The delicious cakes were judged by Head Chef Mark and CCF Cdr Geraldine Poulet-Bowden. All of the cakes were praised by the judges and a special mention to Year 7 who submitted the most entries. Sadly, the cakes could not be tasted though ingredients and methods were discussed with some of the chefs! Congratulations to the winners and all competitors will receive recognition and a certificate in Friday’s Chapel. Some of the delicious entries can be seen below! Daniel Crompton Ruby Cole Dolly Turner Levi Rule Hugo Palmer Charlotte Brown Ella dazzles at Football Trials A huge congratulations to Ella Stephens who attended the Soccer Assist Scholarship Trials in Bristol last week at Clifton College. The standard at the trial was extremely high and Ella competed against trialists a lot older than her. Despite being the youngest, we are delighted to say that Ella was selected from the hopefuls and are discussing next steps. Congratulations Ella! We are extremely proud of you.

It will take place at Exeter College on 28th June and Tom will be cooking one course for two Michelin Star Chefs. Tom has said he is going to cook a steak with a chilli, onion gravy. Best of luck!
Year 8 RS students welcome Oliver Knapman Sport at Trinity this week Year 8 RS students welcomed Oliver Knapman, Teignmouth There has been plenty of sport in our first Independent Funeral Director to their lesson recently. week back. Ultimate frisbee was played on our new hard court and rounders down on the pitch against Stover School. Students are following a Rites of Passage module starting with birth and ending by looking at attitudes and religious/ secular beliefs surrounding death. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions and all were actively involved in the session. This certainly led to a greater understanding of the topics studied. The students were all fascinated by the topic of cryogenics and whether people are still alive whilst frozen. Our Year 7-9 students took part in an Year 8 Dyson Day, 16th June aquathlon which involved a swim followed by running laps of the cross country Tremendously exciting day ahead, Year 8 are off-timetable course! for the whole day working with ‘real-life’ Dyson designer, on a project! Watch this space. Please Year 8, remember to bring in plastic bottles, small, med/ large, with lids and tapering necks, as well as soda/ pop cans.
Students inspired by talk on Life in East Germany NATRE Spirited Arts Competition Year 12 History Students were treated to an inspiring talk with Ms Fischer this week. The students had just completed a unit on The Cold War 1941-1995 so a talk on "Life in East Germany" was perfect! Thank you to Ms Fischer for sharing her experiences. A small reminder that all Year 7,8,9 entries (compulsory) need to be in by Monday 27th June to Mrs Bird. Students have been busy in RS lessons creating their final plans. It is also optional for KS4/5 students so if interested, please see Mrs Bird for more details or ideas on which themes to include.
