There is an appointment system in operation prior to the start of each term and for new
parents. Other parents are welcome to drop in for the odd item or two.

Loretto Online Shopping Loretto School uniform can be purchase online via either a link on the Loretto website or directly via www.schoolblazer.com, (the online service provides nametag application free of charge). As the summer period is particularly busy, we recommend that online orders are placed early. Loretto Uniform Exchange (LUE) The Uniform Exchange is run by parent volunteers and sells good quality, pre-owned current regulation uniform. It is located in the Estates Yard within our Pinkie Campus. Items are resold on behalf of parents and pupils for approximately 50% of the retail price, with proceeds of sale being split equally between the seller and the Uniform Exchange (which are then used for projects benefitting the whole School). To date, funds have been disbursed on the recommendation of the Headmaster, Head of Operations and LUE for a diverse range of items such as F24 kit car, robotics kit, 3D printer, pipe band equipment, music and theatre equipment and goal posts. Items which remain unsold after 3 years, or where there has been a change in uniform, are either forwarded to Kit Aid, (a charity which distributes unwanted sports kit and equipment to under- privileged children at home and abroad) or if in poor condition, are processed through a clothes recycling company. The opening hours of the Exchange are limited by the small pool of parent volunteers who currently run the shop. This is a great way to meet other parents and if you could give a little time to help the school in this way please let the team know. Loretto Uniform Committee The Uniform Committee manages all aspects of school uniform and all branded wear of Loretto School and Loretto Junior School, providing a clear and rational uniform of good quality at the best possible cost to parents. The Committee is vested with the power to take all actions necessary to ensure these objectives are met, including: discussions with suppliers, discussions with staff and collation of parent views. All additions or changes to school uniform, school sportswear or to Loretto branded wear must be approved by this Committee. Committee members consist of parents who wish to be elected and others with particular skills or qualifications making them eligible for election. The Headmaster is an ex officio member of the Committee. Our achievements to date including streamlining and clarification of school uniform lists, improvement in quality of key items, establishment of a process for managing changes to all school uniform and school branded clothing and a forum for considering parents’ views and suggestions.

Additional Sporting Information
Games Options
All pupils in 2nd Form to 5th Form must participate in all core games & wear the correct games kit as stated in the
sports uniform list. The exception to this is pupils in 5th form who are in the Golf Academy. 6th Form may select their
games options for each term.
Pupils participating in non-core games must wear the standard Loretto sports kit –
• Red polo top
• Red skort or red shorts
• White socks for everything other than football
• Red hooped socks – Football
Girls may wear navy shorts for PE, cross country running and athletics should they prefer.
House T-Shirts
All pupils will be allocated a “house” on arrival. Houses at Loretto are Tristram (pink); Greenlees (purple);
Mackintosh (navy blue), Langhorne (green). These can be purchased online or at the Uniform Exchange.
Games Afternoons
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday – Loretto tracksuit bottoms with tracksuit top/smock top may be worn out of school
on games afternoons from 2.30pm onwards.
Team Sports Kit
1st team playing strips will be supplied at a nominal charge.
Match Dress
Loretto tracksuit bottoms with tracksuit top/smock top or Red & Grey – as directed by coaches. Tracksuits must be in
good condition.
Please follow the guidelines for school shoes, hair and hair accessories, make-up and jewellery stated on the school
uniform list.

As well as purchasing kilt jackets and waistcoats, kilt socks and sporrans online via Schoolblazer website or from the Uniform Exchange, we have also approached two local businesses to be our nominated suppliers of chapel jackets, kilts and tartan skirts. They are able to supply bespoke and ready-made kilts in a wide range of tartans and price.
