Future Virtual Programming at the Calimesa Senior Center We are actively looking at creative ways to offer remove/virtual programming for our participants here at the Calimesa Senior Center. For many seniors staying connected with friends and peers brings meaning and joy to their daily lives. During these uncertain times older adults may feel cut off from those valuable social interactions. While nothing can completely replace a hug, smile or warm eye contact, virtual programs can provide the benefits of socialization, boost self-esteem, improve physical well-being, and foster a sense of involvement and community. Are there certain programming, classes or lectures you would enjoy? The Calimesa Senior Center is currently compiling an interest list and welcomes your input! Please email Center Manager Lisa Tiedeman at Lisa.Tiedeman@fsaca.org, or call the Center at 909-795-2287. We look forward to hearing from you!

Your response helps to direct billions of dollars in federal funds to local communities for schools, roads, and other public services. Results from the 2020 Census will be used to determine the number of seats each state has in Congress and your political representation at all levels of government. COVID-19 Test Site Scams by San Bernardino County Aging and Adult Services Available tests and testing sites for COVID-19 are limited and scam predators are using this limited availability to set up fake COVID-19 testing sites and invitations to cash in on the crisis! Do not fall for this scam! These scam predators reach out via text message, email or by setting up a fake site. These sites are dangerous! They are not following sanitation protocols, so they can potentially spread COVID-19. Do not be fooled, even if the sites look real with legitimate-looking signs, tents or hazmat suits. These scam predators collect personal information, including Social Security numbers, credit care information and other health information, all of which can be used for identity theft. Additionally, you will not have the results from a legitimate test. Do not put yourself in harm’s way! Here are several suggestions from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to keep in mind when looking into testing and test sites: • Check with your doctor if you think you should be tested. • Always obtain a referral from your doctor or through the County Public Health Department. • Never trust a random testing site you see on the side of the road. • Do not respond to emails or text messages from anyone you do not know. Just delete! • Uncertain if a site is legitimate? Check with local law enforcement. • Remember to keep personally identifiable and financial information safe. If you think you are a victim of a scam or attempted fraud involving COVID-19, contact the following trusted agencies: National Center for Disaster Fraud (NCDF) Hotline 866-720-5721 or via email at disaster@leo.gov Federal Trade Commission www.FTC.gov/coronavirus Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) www.ic3.gov For continuing information on the COVID-19 virus, visit the official Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus
