BACKGROUND & HISTORY
SEKOLAH TUANKU ABDUL RAHMAN, (popularly known
as STAR) is a premier, all-boys fully residential school
located in Ipoh, Perak. Formerly known as Malay
Secondary School, it was later renamed after the first
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman
ibni Almarhum Tuanku Muhammad. STAR was built by
the Malayan government in 1957 and it is aimed towards
providing a solid education to selected rural boys with
merit.
STAROBA stands for SEKOLAH TUANKU ABDUL
RAHMAN OLD BOYS' ASSOCIATION. The association is
registered under The Societies Act 1966, its legal name is
"PERSATUAN BEKAS PENUNTUT SEKOLAH TUANKU
ABDUL RAHMAN IPOH MALAYSIA". As the name implies,
its member consists of former students (better known as
Old Boys) of Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Ipoh, Perak.
GABUNGAN ANAK DIDIK STAR 1995-1999 is formed by
former students of STAR who graduated in 1999, the 39th
batch that is given the privilege to organise the STAR OLD
BOYS WEEKEND 2019. GABUNGAN ANAK DIDIK STAR
1995 - 1999 is a registered body under the Registrar of
Society Malaysia (PPM-001-10-27022014) since 2014.
OBJECTIVES
STAR OLD BOYS WEEKEND 2019
As a premier boarding school in Malaysia, STAR has a rich and colourful history
participating in the nation building especially related to the social mobility of the poor
and rural boys in the early days of Merdeka. The graduates of the school have risen up
to the high ranking of the government officers, corporate leaders, uniformed bodies
and political hierarchy. Establishment of STAROBA strengthened the ties of the Old Boys
and the Old Boys Weekend is the single most anticipated event where the Old Boys
return to their alma mater to reminisce of their school days, meeting up with former
teachers and giving back to the school via fund raising and knowledge as well as
experience sharing.
The main objectives of this Corporate Sponsorship Proposal:
GABUNGAN ANAK DIDIK STAR 1995 - 1999 as the organizer of the STAR OLD BOYS
WEEKEND 2019 will require funding and resources to make this event successful.
Corporate sponsorship will help in providing the funding as well as resources needed.
At the same time, it is also an opportunity to your organisation to access the target
market of present and future leaders. Associating your brand, products and services
with STAROBA through this STAR OLD BOYS WEEKEND will allow your organisation
exposure and recognition among our Old Boys and their entourage.

qualities. Most notable of them are leaders, movers and shakers in Malaysia's corporate
scene, state administration and of course in the political arena.
