Things To Know The Concept - Remember the thrill when you found that unbelievably smooth piece of Seaglass on the beach? We are proud to offer a beautiful and unique selection of Seaglass Jewelry created in our studio from art glass, antique and recycled glassware. The Artists - Carol and Mark Hall are celebrating 32 years as partners in their award winning studio, White Light Productions. They began making jewelry from ocean-tumbled glass collected on the beach in the Bahamas and recycled glass. As their work gained popularity and the glass supply dwindled, they started producing Seaglass in their studio. Carol and Mark bring vastly different artistic backgrounds and strong opinions, sparking tremendous creativity. Carol has many bizarre ideas and a fine arts degree. She started painting on silk and then branched out into jewelry. Mark has years of experience giving Carol practical input (childhood sweethearts). His design background is in theatre and television. They are proud of giving their daughter, Rowan, a strong business and artistic education. She can be seen at our trade shows and throughout this years’s catalog. The Creations - Our jewelry line boasts a rainbow of colors, carefully blended in chromatic palettes, utilizing Carol’s fine arts degree, as well as her childhood obsession to have all of her Crayolas in the correct order. The process of tumbling broken shards into Seaglass, smoothes the sharp edges, creating soft, touchable gems. Your clients will have a hard time putting this work down. They will also find it takes on a beautiful luster when worn. Attention to detail is evident in subtle intricacies and gradation of color. Seaglass sells year round! - We are constantly amazed that some store owners view us as a seasonal account. We have to ask, “Is it a great product – colorful, eco-conscious and unique with an attractive price point?” The answer is always yes. “Wouldn’t such an item make an exceptional gift?” Certainly. People who are attracted to Seaglass love it, in all its colors and shapes - and they never own just one piece! For them, receiving a gift of Seaglass for any holiday shows aptness of thought. GREEN & BLUE - It has been trendy to jump on the band wagon and market your company as green. We have always been committed to living in harmony in our environment, both as a company and as individuals. Our line has always included recycled and re-purposed glass in our designs. We are members of the Brandywine River Conservancy, which plays a vital role in protecting our local environment. We are also very excited to have adopted an Orca through the whalemuseum.org. Mining is one of the harshest things people do to the planet. White Light uses Harmony Metal, which is recycled, not mined. Also, green products should have minimal packaging. We just use a simple card. Recycled plastic is used in it’s stiffener. Our shipping boxes and packing paper are made from recycled paper. Page 22These colors are approximations ONLY! Glass is a translucent material full of light and color, a printed color
sample can never be as luminous. Additionally, glass comes in dye lots with a large variation. Some glass is
mouth blown and is “seedy’. “Seedy” glass contains tiny air bubbles trapped during the manufacturing
process and is not a flaw. It’s important to remember this is Broken Glass Jewelry. Natural variety adds to the
overall beauty.
