OVER SEVENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO, ALLIED
forces altered the course of history on the beaches of
Normandy. We invite you to join us as we immerse
ourselves in this critical history, and sail the waters
that brought over 125,000 soldiers to these coasts.
Each day Sea Cloud Spirit brings us to a different
port along the coast of Normandy and the southern
coast of England where we have access to great golf
and private tours to historic sites and landmarks
along our route. Each evening, we have engaged
discussions about the strategies that unfolded in

Depart home on May 30 for an overnight flight to Paris, France.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Chantilly and the beautifully
secluded property, Château Hôtel Mont Royal, where you can settle in

June 1: Chantilly
Golf: Golf de Morfontaine
Considered by many to be the best course in France, and perhaps its
most exclusive, Morfontaine is sure to be a highlight of our journey.
Tom Simpson designed the original 18-hole layout, and Kyle Phillips
slightly modernized the course in 2005. The designers have fully
accentuated the aesthetics of an idyllic heathland landscape entirely
surrounded by forest. Few fairway bunkers challenge off the tee, but
the undulating terrain and surrounding trees play a role in determining
your line, and approaches to the large, rolling, well-bunkered greens
must be well planned and executed.
Tour: Royaumont Abbey
Originally a Cistercian monastery, Royaumont Abbey’s isolated
location, simple layout and unadorned buildings allowed the facility
to be transformed from abbey to cotton mill to a WWI hospital.
Listed as a historic landmark in 1927, the abbey is the best-preserved
Cistercian abbey in the Île-de-France region. Our guided visit is
highlighted by exploring rooms not open to the public, and concludes
with a private lunch at the abbey.

June 2: Chantilly
Golf: Golf de Chantilly
In the midst of a centuries-old forest, Chantilly is a classic golf
course, consistently ranked among the top five in France. Tom
Simpson designed this strategic layout where you need to avoid
challenging bunkers off the tee, but low scores are earned on these
impressive greens.

Our tour offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in one of the
finest châteaus in France, the Domaine de Chantilly. From the gardens
to the stables, to the château itself, it is a breathtaking experience. The
Condé Museum within the château holds over 800 masterpieces of
French, Italian, Flemish and English art; the second largest collection
of antique paintings in the world after The Louvre.

June 3: Chantilly • Embark Sea Cloud Spirit
Our route to board Sea Cloud Spirit allows guests to
choose from a few touring options.
Van Gogh enthusiasts may choose to explore the
village of Auvers-sur-Oise where Vincent Van Gogh
spent his final days, visiting the locales that inspired
some of his works. After lunch in town, we enjoy a
private visit to Charles-François Daubigny’s private
workshop, hosted by his great-great-great grandson.
A mentor to Van Gogh, Daubigny’s garden is the
subject of some of Van Gogh’s final works.
Guests who would like to explore the world of
Claude Monet, visit the quaint village of Giverny
where we tour Monet’s garden, with the famous
Japanese bridge, water lily pond and sites that
inspired this master of Impressionism. We lunch at
scenic Le Moulin de Fourges.
Alternatively, guests may choose to go directly to
Honfleur where, this afternoon, we all gather to
board Sea Cloud Spirit. Our guided visit to this
wonderful seaside town is highlighted by learning the
history and stories of these cobbled streets lined with
Renaissance architecture. There will also be plenty Auvers-sur-Oise

June 4: Boulogne-sur-Mer, France
Golf: Golf d’Hardelot—Les Pins
Set amongst dunes and pine forest, Hardelot owes its
current routing and architecture to Tom Simpson who
re-designed it in 1931. Meandering through pines,
gently rolling terrain and dotted with naturally ragged
bunkers, the course reminds us of classic parkland Giverny
venues that populate southern England.
Tour: Boulogne-sur-Mer
Boulogne-sur-Mer, a major fishing port, dates to
Roman times and its close proximity to the Strait
of Dover has made this seaside town strategically
significant throughout its history. We visit the
impressive Basilica of Notre-Dame and Colonne
de la Grand Armée, a monument to Napoleon I’s
planned invasion of England.

June 5: Normandy
Our tour visits Ranville Cemetery and Pegasus
Bridge, a critical crossing taken by the Allies on
June 5, 1944, which blocked the Germans from
providing reinforcements to Normandy. Historians
relate the stories of these fateful days in 1944.
Later, we spend time at the Longues-sur-Mer
battery and Arromanches, concluding our day at the
Caen Peace Memorial.

June 6: Normandy, France
This morning we reflect on the brave actions taken
over seventy-five years ago on the beaches and cliffs
along this coast. We have time to walk among the
marble gravestones marking the final resting place of
heroes who changed the course of history. The day is
highlighted by a visit to the American Cemetery as
we commemorate the anniversary of the feats of these
heroes. On our final day along the French coast, tours
visit many notable locations including Omaha Beach,
Utah Beach and St. Mère Église, site of one of the
largest allied paratrooper landings. From the beaches,
we venture to the famous cliffs at Pointe-du-Hoc.

June 7: Day at Sea
Pointe-du-Hoc
There is no better way to experience our host vessel
than a full day at sea aboard Sea Cloud Spirit. Enjoy
the leisurely pace of travel and the expert maneuvers of
skilled deckhands as they scale the rigging and set the
sails for our voyage across the English Channel. There
will be plenty of time for relaxing after several days
of touring and golf—an ideal day to take advantage of

The Royal St. George’s Golf Club June 8: Dover, England Golf: The Royal St. George’s Golf Club Ranked among the top courses in the United Kingdom and the world, Royal St. George’s will have hosted 15 Open Championships before we play, including the 2020 Open. This seaside links course, overlooking the North Sea, is a wonderful test of golf, and is sure to be a treat to play the season following the The Open. Tour: Canterbury and Dover Castle Parts of Canterbury have been designated UNESCO World Heritage sites, and it is most well-known for its medieval abbeys and as the current seat of the Church of England. We will enjoy a private tour of Canterbury Cathedral, and a visit to Dover Castle, furnished as the medieval palace of Henry II. ....... June 9: Portsmouth, England Golf: Ferndown Golf Club Founded in 1912 and designed by Harold Hilton, Ferndown Golf Club is set in the wonderfully manicured countryside southwest of Southampton. The Old Course at Ferndown plays across a sandy outcrop of land where there is a proliferation of heather and pines, and the challenge at Ferndown is not length, it is position. Highlighted by multiple dogleg holes, it is an immaculately groomed and visually appealing course with subtle hazards and especially well-designed and positioned bunkers. Tour: Highclere Castle Touring passengers visit Highclere Castle, made popular as the setting for the Masterpiece Theatre series and movie Downton Abbey. Our tour will include visits to the state rooms and the castle garden and grounds, where our guides will share their intimate knowledge and anecdotes regarding the unique history of the buildings, artwork and residents. .......
