WELCOME The StreetSmarts Secondary School T20 Challenge is designed to help Education Queensland and Queensland Cricket promote and develop the game of cricket throughout the State. This competition provides male and female Secondary School students the chance to participate in a formal State-Wide Cricket Competition while gaining a great experience within their divisions: • Intermediate Male • Open Male • Intermediate Female • Open Female The competition offers a shorter format to help more schools participate and limit the amount of travel during knock out stages. We also believe that schools that reach the Conference and State Finals will leave with a memorable experience for their students. www.secondaryschoolst20challenge.qld.cricket.com.au 3
ARRIVE SAFE THIS SUMMER The Queensland Government is proud to be a major partner of the StreetSmarts Secondary Schools T20 Challenge. The government has partnered with Queensland Cricket for a number of years to promote the importance of road safety to our next generation. I am pleased to see that cricket and the T20 format continues to be so popular. The skills you learn on the field and from being part of a team will help you to be a safe driver too. Everyone has a role to play, whether you are a driver or a passenger. It is important to use your StreetSmarts to follow the road rules, avoid distractions, and look out for your mates. We are committed to making the road safer for everyone, but we can’t do it alone. We need your help to lead the way when it comes to making the best and safest decisions on the road. Enjoy this T20 season, get involved and most importantly, stay safe on the roads. The Hon. Mark Bailey MP Minister for Transport and Main Roads Proudly supported by StreetSmarts, a social change program of the Queensland Government www.secondaryschoolst20challenge.qld.cricket.com.au 4
