School Counseling News Mercy McAuley High School - Week of 3/18/2019 Class of 2020 - Junior Family College Planning Workshops Junior Family College Planning Workshops The evening of March 20th at 6:30 PM (cafeteria)!!! The morning of March 21st at 7:30 AM (library) RSVP Here At each workshop we will be covering important information about college visits, application procedures and timelines, college nancial aid, and more. Each workshop features the same presentation so you only need to register for one. Each family will receive a folder packed with college planning resources. The workshops last approximately one hour and 15 minutes. UC Lindner Business Honors Program Breakfast on April 30 There is speci c criteria for this: 1. Intended for current juniors with ACT composite score(s) of 29 or higher and planning to major in Business. 2. You must provide your own transportation to and from. Juniors must contact their high school counselor asap if interested in attending. Lindner Business Honors Program The Lindner Business Honors programs are unique, challenging, and highly selective honors programs integrated within the Carl H. Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati. The programs’ goals are to develop strong business leaders both inside and outside of the classroom. Looking for 60 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (10th – 12th grade) & 40 COLLEGE STUDENTS to work together, alongside professional mentors, to be the VOICE OF CHANGE for youth on the topic of MENTAL HEALTH! In this 2-day workshop, students will: Learn the “Design Thinking” process of problem-solving from Dr. Tom Merrill, Director of the Xavier University Innovation Center Work in small groups to brainstorm solutions to mental health challenge prompts Work with professional mentors to develop idea pitches Present your team’s idea pitch to an expert judging panel WIN MONEY TO FUND YOUR IDEA! This is a one time, one year $1,500.00 scholarship. Applicant must be a resident of Miami Township, Hamilton County. Ohio. Seniors! 2019 WCC Agnes Seasongood Education Scholarship Award Program All application materials must be submitted in hardcopy in one complete package via U.S.P.S. by Thursday, April 4, 2019. This award encourages civic awareness. Five $1000 awards will be presented. One page essay, application, and a letter of recommendation required. Award luncheon on 5/3/2019 at the Summit Dolce Hotel. Four Seasons Garden Club Scholarship: The Four Seasons Garden Club Scholarship is offering a $1,500 scholarship to be awarded to a male or female 2019 graduate from area high schools (public, private, technical school or home school) who is enrolling to study in an area connected with horticulture or related elds, such as Conservation, Nature and Beauti cation, Landscape Design or Landscape Contraction, Commercial Florist, or Floral Arts. The student selected may attend a college
or university, technical or trade school. The scholarship is open to graduates who reside in Fair eld or Fair eld Township. The application deadline is Friday, April 12 by 2:00 p.m. Applications can be found at fair eldcommunityfoundation.org. Greenhills Forest Park Kiwanis Club College Scholarship Opportunity Class of 2019:The Greenhills Forest Park Kiwanis Club is offering a scholarship competition to area high school seniors residing in the Winton Woods school district. The scholarship awards are $2,000. Eligibility requirements and directions for completing are included on the application which can be picked up at the counseling o ce or is posted in Blackboard (Community>Counseling News). Deadline to apply is April 5, 2019. Anthony Munoz Foundation Scholarship Deadline to apply is May 1, 2019. Multiple $20,000 scholarships will be awarded in 2019. The award shall be renewable only if the recipient(s) meets eligibility and performance requirements as stated in the application.
