It's free to use. Reminder: never pay anyone for a scholarship search! The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship The application deadline has changed to midnight on September 7 2018. More information about the scholarship requirements can be found at the Posey County Community Foundation’s web site https://www.communityfoundationalliance.org/posey . Indiana University Scholarships Any student interested in learning more about scholarships available to incoming freshman at Indiana University should visit www.scholarships.indiana.edu . November 1, 2018 is the priority date for admission and maximum scholarship consideration. Be sure to check the different links for other scholarships that have separate applications. IU 21st Century Scholarship Covenant Program – Indiana University Bloomington’s 21st Century Scholarship Covenant Program, offered to 21st Century Scholars, can help bridge the gap between debt and degree. University of Southern Indiana Scholarships Any student interested in learning more about scholarships available to incoming freshman at USI should visit http://www.usi.edu/admission/scholarships. March 1, 2018 is the deadline to ensure consideration for most scholarships at USI. The Presidential Scholarship deadline is December 1 2018 and Baccalaureate/Doctor of Medicine Scholarship deadline is December 2, 2018. Wabash College Scholarships There are several scholarships available to students entering Wabash College in 2019. Visit http://www.wabash.edu/admissions/finances/scholarships for more information. Students in the top 10% of their class are eligible to receive a Top 10 Scholarship valued at $70,000 over four years and must attend the Top Ten Scholarship Campus Visit Program. Indiana State University Scholarships There are several scholarships available for freshmen who will be studying 12 or more credit hours per semester on the Indiana State University campus. Deadlines vary on the various scholarships; however, to receive full consideration for many of their scholarships, you must be admitted to ISU by December 1, 2018. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.indstate.edu/scholarships/freshman. University of Evansville Scholarships There are several scholarships available to incoming freshmen at UE. Visit their web site at http://www.evansville.edu/scholarships for more information. Priority consideration will be given to students who apply by December 1, 2018.
Vincennes University Scholarships Applications are available online at www.vinu.edu/scholarships and must be submitted by January 15, 2019 for full consideration. Purdue University Scholarships Scholarship information is available at www.admissions.purdue.edu . To maximize consideration for Purdue scholarships, the admission application and all required supporting materials must be received or postmarked by November 1, 2018. Freshmen applicants will apply using The Common Application. Ball State University Scholarships There are several scholarships available to incoming freshmen at Ball State. Visit their web site at www.bsu.edu/admissions/scholarships for more information. Ivy Tech Scholarship Applications The Ivy Tech Scholarship application is now available online at http://www.ivytech.edu/financial-aid/scholarships.html . The deadline for priority consideration is March 1, 2019. See Mrs. Rose for a merit based scholarship. The Salon Professional Academy Scholarships are available to current high school seniors. Visit http://www.tspaevansville.com/ for more information. Murray State University Scholarships Visit http://www.murraystate.edu/admissions/scholarships/index.aspx for more information on scholarships. Priority consideration deadline is January 15, 2019. Western Kentucky University Scholarships Applications are available online at http://www.wku.edu/scholarship/incoming.php and must be submitted by February 1, 2019 for full consideration. The Cherry Presidential Scholarship application deadline is December 1, 2018. IUPUI Scholarships For information on freshmen scholarships visit http://www.iupui.edu/~scentral/. For the IUPUI Honors College, there are several scholarship opportunities available for students interested in the IUPUI Honors College. Visit their web site at www.honorscollege.iupui.edu for more information. Apply by November 1, 2018 for maximum scholarship consideration. Horatio Alger Association Scholarship Programs The scholarship programs provide financial assistance to students who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Apply online at https://scholars.horatioalger.org/scholarships/about-our-scholarship-programs/. Scholarship enrollment opens on August 1 and closes on October 25. Wendy’s High School Heisman This program is looking for applications from both male and female student-athletes who exhibit excellence in the classroom, on the playing field, and within their communities. Eligibility for application is limited exclusively to men and women whose senior year of high school is the 2017-2017 academic year, who
have at least a “B” grade average, and participate in at least one school-sponsored sport. They want to hear from all student-athletes who work hard, are dedicated, and have become role models for underclassmen. Applications are taken online only at www.wendysheisman.com. Completed applications are due by October 17, 2018. Naval ROTC Scholarships The Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Scholarship is available to students who are U.S. citizens, physically qualified by Navy standards and score a minimum SAT: 530 Critical Reading; 520 Math, and ACT: 22 English; 22 Math. Visit http://www.nrotc.navy.mil/ or call 1-800-NAV-ROTC for more information. Deadline is December 31, 2018. Army ROTC Scholarships Army ROTC information is available at www.armyrotc.com. Deadline is January 10, 2019. Marine Officer ROTC Program For more information about the Marine Officer ROTC Program, the Frederick C. Branch Leadership Scholarship, and the General Pedro Del Valle Leadership Scholarship, visit http://officer.marines.com/marine/making_marine_officers/commissioning_programs/nrotc National Society Daughters of the American Revolution The NSDAR awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of degrees in diverse disciplines including history, law, nursing, and education. The DAR Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to qualified applicants regardless of race, religion, sex or national origin. All multi-year scholarships, typically renewable up to four years, must be for consecutive years of attendance at an accredited college or university in the United States. The only exception is the American Indian Scholarship that is available for students pursuing vocational training. Visit http://www.dar.org/natsociety/edout_scholar.cfm for the application and financial need form. Deadlines vary. MeritAid.com Merit Aid is awarded to student with a broad range of GPAs. Students with a 2.0 GPA or higher often qualify. There are merit aid scholarships for students based on their interests, their intended majors, leadership, and community service. Visit www.meritaid.com to begin your search. BigSun Scholarship The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. They are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student in the amount of $500. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. The deadline to apply is June 19, 2019. Visit http://www.bigsunathletics.com to learn how to apply. The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution. Coca Cola Scholars The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation is awarding $3 million a year in scholarships to 250 deserving students just like you. Apply online at www.coca-colascholars.org by October 31, 2018.
The National Co-Op Scholarship Program Students with a GPA of 3.5 or better should submit the application and essay online by visiting www.waceinc.org. To be eligible for one of these scholarships, students must attend one of the following WACE Partner Institutions: Clarkson Univ., Drexel Univ., Johnson & Wales Univ., Kettering University, Merrimack College, Rochester Institute of Technology, State University of New York Oswego, Univ. of Cincinnati, Univ. of Massachusetts Lowell, Univ. of Toledo, or Wentworth Institute of Technology. The Hagan Scholarship Foundation Applications are available at www.hsfmo.org and are due by November 15, 2018. This scholarship helps students living in rural counties including Posey County in ten states including Indiana. Up to 150 scholarships are awarded each year in varying amounts. Free Christian College Information and Scholarships The Christian Connector provides a free Christian college information service as well as a $2,500 Christian college scholarship drawing. Students can log onto www.ChristianConnector.com to request information and automatically by entered in the $2,500 scholarship drawing. The Secure Optimal Yield (SOY) Scholarship The American Soybean Association (ASA) is offering a $5,000 award to a high school senior who meets all academic and leadership requirements, is a child or grandchild of a current ASA member, and is planning to pursue a degree in an agriculture-related field at an accredited college or university. The Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship The Elks National Foundation awards $2.44 million in college scholarships to a total of 500 high school seniors nationwide through its Most Valuable Student scholarship contest and 250 ENF Legacy Awards to any high school senior who is a U.S. citizen. Applications are available online only at www.enf.elks.org/mvs and submitted by November 15, 2018 by 11:59 p.m. CST. High school seniors who are US citizens will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. If you have questions, please email Scholarship@elks.org. The Next Generation Hoosier Educator Scholarship The Indiana Commission for Higher Education is pleased to announce the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship, offering up to $7,500 each year of college for high-achieving Hoosier students who commit to teaching in Indiana for five years after graduation. The scholarship application will close on November 30. All interested students should have the following items prepared before attempting to complete the application: ● Nomination Form, signed by a nominator and school official ● Response to the writing prompt, “Why do you want to be a teacher?” (Maximum of 500 words) ● Personal Information including Social Security Number ● High School Grade Point Average (GPA) ● High School Class Rank (if applicable) ● ACT or SAT Examination Score(s) ● Extracurricular Information for activities completed during high school ● Employment History (if any) ● Individual Awards and Honors awarded during high school (if any)

The United States Jaycee Senate Foundation The United States Jaycee Senate Foundation is offering seniors during the 2018-2019 school year a one- time $1,000 scholarship. Students can go to usjcisenate.org to obtain a copy of the application. This is an academic scholarship. Each year the scholarships are judged in January so they can be submitted for national judging. Indiana is allowed to submit two students for national judging. May Peace Scholarship Veterans for Peace in Evansville encourages your high school's seniors to apply for the 2019 Gary E. May Peace Scholarship. This is a $1000 cash award for college-related expenses, and the student may use the funds in any way he or she chooses. One applicant will be selected to receive an award and will be announced on November 11, Armistice Day. The Indiana Trial Lawyers Association's College of Fellows & the Indiana Historical Society Essay Contest The Indiana Trial Lawyers Association’s College of Fellows and The Indiana Historical Society is offering graduating seniors a $4,000 scholarship. Students need to write an essay on the following topic: Why is the right to trial by jury (the Seventh Amendment) critical to ensuring justice and democracy? Entries are due Sunday, December 17th, 2018. Winners will be announced on Monday, February 19th, 2019. Essays should be submitted at www.indianatriallawyers.org/COFScholarshipProject Posey County Community Foundation (PCCF) The Community Scholarship Program is made up of several scholarship funds, each with individual selection criteria and individual requirements. The application and submission instructions are available online at https://www.communityfoundationalliance.org/posey/ starting Dec 1 and most are due by February 9, 2019. Please read the submission instructions carefully. Please see Mr. Simmons in the Guidance Office if you have any questions. Request for transcripts to be sent for these scholarships should be made in person in the Guidance Office by Thursday, February 7, 2019. 2019 WIN Energy REMC Scholarship Applications for this scholarship are available online at http://www.winenergyremc.com/content/scholarship- program and must be received by February 16, 2019. Qualifications include parents/legal guardians must be WIN Energy REMC members; applicant must be a 2019 graduating senior and have a cumulative GPA of a C or higher; provide a current high school transcript; and recipient must be able to enroll as a full time student in the fall of 2019. 2019 Knights of Pythias of Indiana Applications are available online at www.knightsofpythiasofnewcastle.com click on ‘event forms’. Applications must be postmarked by January 25, 2019 and no handwritten applications will be accepted. Students must have a GPA of a B (3.0) or above, submit transcript including SAT and/or ACT scores, and be registered in an accredited college or university with proof of registration prior to disbursement of funds.
Beta Sigma Psi Christian Leadership Award and Martin Luther Scholarship Applicants should be male, confirmed members of the Lutheran congregation, and attending college in the Fall 2019 semester. Applications are available at http://scholarships.betasigmapsi.org/ and must be postmarked by February 17, 2019. ESA Foundation Scholarships For a list of available scholarships by state, visit http://www.epsilonsigmaalpha.org/grants-and-scholarships Tri Kappa Scholarship Students who are eligible attend school in the North Posey School Corporation, are a senior in the top 20% of their class, planning to attend college or a vocational school, and are of good character. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and are due January 19, 2019. Erma Ribeyre Greathouse Scholarship Applicants must have applied to college or vocational school, be sponsored by a chapter within the jurisdiction of Province I, obtain an official transcript, write a statement containing a strong idea of goals and future plans (350 or less words), financial need statement, 2 letters of recommendation, volunteer and extracurricular activities. Information and instruction sheet is available in the guidance office and are due January 31, 2019. Kiwanis Indiana Foundation – Poseyville Club 2019 scholarship applications are available in the Guidance Office for the Kiwanis Indiana Foundation for students attending an Indiana school for their post-secondary schooling. This is a one-time award of $1,000. You do not have to live in Poseyville to apply for this scholarship. The applications are due to the Guidance Office by February 12, 2019. IN Breast Cancer Awareness Trust, Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship Award In order to be eligible for consideration, applicants must have a parent battling breast cancer or has lost a parent to breast cancer; be a high school senior and reside in Indiana; plan to pursue a degree, either full- time or part-time, in any accredited post-secondary institution in Indiana; have a GPA of at least 2.8; and be a U.S. citizen. Applications are available online at www.breastcancerplate.org and must be postmarked by February 2, 2019. Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union Scholarships ETFCU is offering ten $5,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in 2019. To qualify, seniors must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 at the end of the fall semester. Also, applicants or parents/guardians must have been members of ETFCU for at least one year prior to March 2, 2019. Those seniors who meet the above criteria must submit their completed application (available in the Guidance Office now and online at www.etfcu.org/scholarship) to the ETFCU Office no later than March 2, 2019. This a received date, not a postmark date. Tom Embrey Memorial Scholarship Guidelines for this $1,000 scholarship include the candidate must be a graduating senior at North Posey High School with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above; planning to attend any 2-4 year post-secondary accredited school; and selection of the winner will be based on scholastic achievement, athletic participation, and financial need. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be submitted to the Guidance Office no later than Monday, March 11, 2019.
Delbert E. Johnson Scholarship One non-renewable scholarship in the amount of $2, 017 will be awarded to a graduating senior of North Posey High School who has a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, demonstrates good citizenship and financial need, and is a resident of Harmony Township. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and are due Monday, March 11, 2019. Amanda McKaig Martin Award One non-renewable scholarship in the amount of $300 will be awarded to a graduating female senior of North Posey High School who has a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5, demonstrates good citizenship, and is a resident of Harmony Township. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and are due Monday, March 11, 2019. Ropp Memorial Scholarship Two non-renewable scholarships in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to a graduating senior of North Posey High School who has a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, demonstrate involvement in community or school activities, be of good character, and is a resident of Harmony Township. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and are due Monday, March 11, 2019. Jane Blaffer Owen Scholarship This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors who reside in New Harmony and have exhibited voluntary leadership that models the example of Jane Blaffer Owen in the New Harmony community. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and are due to Mr. Simmons by Monday, March 11, 2019. Gill Orthodontics Scholarship Program The Gill Orthodontics Scholarship Program awards two nonrenewable $1,000 scholarships annually with $500 distributed each semester beginning in the fall. Applicants must be currently in orthodontic treatment or have completed orthodontic treatment by Dr. James Gill, D.D.S. and have a GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale at the end of their senior fall semester. Scholarship recipients will be determined based on essays, academic achievement, and participation in school and community activities. Applications are available online at www.gillorthodontics.com under the tab “Our Office” and must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2019. Jack Camp Scholarship In memory of Jack Camp, this scholarship is based solely on financial need and will be awarded to five North Posey seniors. The amount will be determined by the interest earned on the fund. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be submitted to the Guidance Office no later than Monday, March 11, 2019. ALEXANDER TRUST FUND SCHOLARSHIP DR. PAUL BOREN SCHOLARSHIP General Eligibility The candidate must be a graduating senior of North Posey High School with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above in the core subjects (English, math, social studies, and science). The student must be planning to attend any 2-4 year post-secondary accredited school. Additional requirements and explanations of each scholarship are:
ALEXANDER SCHOLARSHIP Four scholarships will be awarded on the basis of leadership and academic achievement. The amount for the first year will be $2,000. The remaining three years will be based on the interest earned by the trust fund. DR. PAUL BOREN SCHOLARSHIP One non-renewable, scholarship will be awarded and the amount is dependent on the interest earned by the fund. This scholarship was established in the memory of Dr. Paul Boren. A preference is given to a candidate who plans to major in a health, science, or education field, but is not limited to those majors. Requirements The following should be submitted by Monday, March 11, 2019 to the Guidance Department at North Posey High School: Completed application and essay, letters of endorsement from two adults in the community (non-school personnel) who have been associated with the applicant, and two letters of recommendation from high school teachers. Applications are available in the Guidance Office Posey County Kids Incorporated Scholarship Seniors attending North Posey High School and who have financial need should pick up an application in the Guidance Office for the $750 scholarship sponsored by Posey County Kids, Incorporated. Applications are due to the Guidance Office by March 11, 2019. Mt. Vernon Lodge No. 49 Independent Order of Odd Fellows Scholarship Seniors attending North Posey High School and who have financial need should pick up an application in the Guidance Office for the $750 scholarship sponsored by Posey County Kids, Incorporated. Applications are due to the Guidance Office by March 11, 2019. DANNY EMBREY BASEBALL “MENTAL ATTITUDE” MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP This $1500 scholarship will be awarded to a qualified applicant from the graduating class of North Posey High School. To be eligible, applicants must have 4 years participation on the North Posey High School baseball team, must be active in the community, and show leadership skills. This application form, available in the Guidance Office, must be completed by the student and returned to the North Posey High School Guidance Office by April 12, 2019. Indiana Oil and Gas Association Scholarship Indiana Oil and Gas Company is offering a scholarship to seniors with a 3.0 or higher who plan to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry. The amount and number of scholarships depends on the applicants and available funds. Application forms are available in the guidance office. Applications must be submitted to the guidance office by March 20th, 2019. E’ville Iron Street Rods Ltd. A $3,000 scholarship is available to any senior enrolled in Auto Body or Auto/Diesel Mechanics classes who plan to continue their education in the automotive area, such as mechanics, auto body work, or diesel mechanics. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be postmarked by March 25, 2019. Carol Renee Lamar Scholarship GFWC Posey County Junior Women’s Club will award 3 - $700 scholarship to a senior at North Posey High School in memory of Carol Renee Lamar. The graduating senior must have a GPA of at least 2.5 and planning to enroll in an institution of higher learning. A preference will be given to a senior who plans to
major in an education field or library science, but is not limited to those majors. A strong history of involvement in community service and/or activities would be desirable. Financial need is a major criteria for this scholarship along with activities and character. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be returned to the Guidance Office by April 4, 2019. Indiana Sheriff’s Association Scholarship Program The requirements for this scholarship include the following: must be an Indiana resident, must be committed to pursuing an education and career in a law enforcement field at an Indiana college or university, applicants must be current members of the association or a dependent child or grandchild of a current member of the association (applications for membership are attached to the scholarship application), and must enroll as a full-time student. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be received by April 1, 2019. Evansville Home Economist Scholarships Any senior planning a career in the field of Home Economics/Family and Consumer Science (retailing, interior design, child development/early childhood education (but not elementary education), dietetics, food science, etc.) should pick up an application in the Guidance Office. Two scholarships will be available, one to a student pursuing a four-year bachelor’s degree and the other to a student pursuing a two-year associate’s degree. Each award recipient will receive $250 per year for a total of $1,000 for the four-year program and $500 for the two-year program. Applications are available in the guidance office and should be received by April 1, 2019. WiNUP Indiana Chapter STEM Scholarship WiNUP (Women’s International Network of Utility Professionals) of Indiana, is offering a $500 scholarship to a young lady interested in pursuing a degree related to STEM. Two letters of recommendations and a 500 word essay about why you’ve chosen to major in science, technology, engineering or math and your career aspirations is required. Applications are available in the guidance office and should be received by March 29, 2019. Kiwanis Club of Poseyville Byron Brenton Scholarship A $750 scholarship is available to a senior accepted in a technical program, beauty school, or trade training program. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and must be submitted to your counselor by April 25, 2019. Tercera Scholarship Tercera Club will award two (2) $1,000 scholarships to two qualified seniors from North Posey High School who have a 3.0 GPA or higher and are planning to enroll in an institution of higher learning. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. All forms are due to the Guidance Office by 3:10 p.m. by Friday, April 19, 2019. New Harmony Kiwanis Local Scholarship 2019 scholarship applications are available in the Guidance Office for the New Harmony Kiwanis Local Scholarship for students attending an Indiana school for their post-secondary schooling. This is a one-time award of $500. The applications must be received in the guidance office by April 13, 2019. Zip Recruiter Scholarship Scholarship Award: $3,000
