The Show will be held under the rules of the Irish Kennel Club. A copy of the Rules & Regula- tions is available on request from the Irish Kennel Club, Fottrell House, Harolds Cross Bridge, Dublin 6W. The Show will open from 8.00a.m. The Show will be held on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th October 2021 at the Navan Race Course, Proudstown Rd., Navan. Co. Meath. Judging will commence at 9.30a.m. Entries close on the 15th October 2021(postmark) and online at midnight on the 22nd October 2021 . Enter online at www.dogshowentry.ie ENTRY FEES: The entry fee will be €25.00 per dog, I.K.C. Levy @ €1.00 per exhibitor. Stake Classes €10.00, each per dog Baby Puppy entry fee €10.00 per dog Obedience – Green Star Class €12 per dog, all other classes €7 per dog per class. CAR PARK: Free, CATALOGUES: Online catalogue may be downloaded free A Limited number of printed catalogues will be on sale within the show grounds. Price €5.00 each. This may be prepaid. VETERINARY SURGEON: will be on call. Fees must be paid by the exhibitor directly to the Vet for this service. VETERINARY EXAMINATION: Any Veterinary Surgeon acting with the Authority of the Show Committee may have any dog removed from the Show on any of the following grounds: (i) sus- pected cause of infection or contagious disease (ii) totally blind or deaf (iii) castrated (iv) vicious or savage disposition. If requested by the Show Secretary, the Veterinary Surgeon shall give such order in writing, together with the reason for it. ENTRY FORMS: The Catalogue will be compiled from the Entry Forms submitted by Exhibitors, and the Irish Kennel Club cannot accept any responsibility for mistakes therein. REJECTING ENTRIES: The Committee reserves the right to reject any entry, advertisement or other insertion in the Catalogue or the allocation of Stand Space at the Show. INELIGIBLE ENTRIES: A transfer of an incorrect entry as to sex or breed may be allowed by the Show Secretary prior to the commencement of judging, but in no other respects. REGISTRATIONS: All Dogs entered for competition or otherwise, must be registered or trans- ferred at the Irish Kennel Club or other FCI Kennel Club. Entries for Greyhounds already regis- tered with the Irish Coursing Club will be accepted without further registration. PRIZE CARDS will be given to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Reserve in each Class. Rosettes will be given to Green Star winners, Best of Breed, Group winners & Reserve Group winners, to 4th place. Best Baby Puppy in Show 1st – 4th place. Best in Show, Reserve Best in Show, to 4th place. Puppy Stakes 1 – 4th place, Junior Stakes 1 – 4th place, Champion Stakes 1 – 4th place, Veteran Stakes 1 – 4th place. PRIZES WITHHELD: A Judge shall be empowered to withhold any prize, prizes or Green Stars if in his (or her) opinion, the exhibits are not of sufficient merit. WHERE SPECIAL PRIZES are offered for competition by or through a Specialist Club, they are responsible for the collection and distribution same. 3
EXHIBITS NOT SENT: Persons entering an exhibit or exhibits and failing to send them for exhibi- tion or should their exhibit or exhibits be rejected by one of the Veterinary Surgeons, will forfeit the entrance fees paid in respect of such exhibit or exhibits. The Irish Kennel Club cannot accept any responsibility for the absence of any dog when the judging of a Breed or Class or Group is about to commence. STANDS: Sales of any article will only be permitted to take place from a duly licensed stand. CLOSING OF THE SHOW: All exhibits must be removed by the person in charge, or by their own- ers not later than half an hour after completion of the Judging of Best in Show. JUDGES: If circumstances arise to prevent any judge selected from keeping his or her engage- ment, the Committee reserves the right to employ another judge. The right is reserved to the Show Committee or to the Chairman of the Irish Kennel Club to change a judge in a breed or breeds, or part of a breed if it is considered such a change is in the best interests of the Show. JUDGING: (a) No person will be allowed in Judging Ring, except the Judge, Show Official or any exhibitor taking in a dog for adjudication. (c) Exhibitors will not be allowed to wear a badge or other decoration in the Breed Judging Ring save the exhibition number of each dog which must be clearly displayed by the exhibitor. (d) The following officials of the Show will not be per- mitted to exhibit thereat. viz: a Judge, a Veterinary Surgeon, a Steward (except when acting as such and in the execution of his duties) the Show Committee, the Secretary or any member of the Irish Kennel Club Staff. JUDGE'S DECISION: The decision of a Judge at the termination of his or her judging a Class shall be final, except in the case of an objection properly made and upheld under the Rules of the Irish Kennel Club or where a Judge states that a clerical or other mistake was made in the award as officially returned, or on the grounds of fraud. PROTEST: All protests must be made in the manner specified in Irish Kennel Club Rules. RESPONSIBILITY: (a) The Irish Kennel Club will not be responsible for any loss or damage sus- tained by an exhibitor through accident or otherwise. (b) The Irish Kennel Club will not be re- sponsible for any accident, that may occur to any exhibitor or other person attending the Show. (c) Visitors are requested not to handle the dogs sent for exhibition. (d) Dogs will not be per- mitted in the Bar or Refreshment Rooms. ALL ANNOUNCEMENTS appearing in any daily newspaper or other publication or posted on the Irish Kennel Club website, in reference to any alterations made by the Show Committee in the Schedule or in these regulations, shall be deemed sufficient notice thereof. IN CONNECTION WITH THE SHOW: The Board of Directors of the Irish Kennel Club shall be the Show Committee within the mean- ing of the Rules, and all disputes arising shall be dealt with by this Committee in accordance with the powers delegated to it by the Council. Should any dispute arise for which a specific rule is not provided such matter in dispute shall be referred to the Board of Directors for decision. Parties to any such dispute shall have the right to appeal to the Council of the Irish Kennel Club. The Chairman of the Irish Kennel Club Show Committee shall be given Executive Powers to de- cide any point arising at the Show. During the exhibition of Dogs at this show the officiating Judge will not allow under any circumstances any form of distraction by ring-siders and will disqualify any exhibit which is being assisted in its performance by any person other than the handler. 4
FOULING: A minimum fine of €50.00 shall be imposed on any exhibitor who fails to clean up fouling by their dogs in the precincts of the show. ALL DOGS competing must be on a lead, unless when under a judge. Cropped Dogs are not permitted to be exhibited at any Irish Kennel Club event. RING NUMBERS WILL BE HANDED OUT ON THE DAY TO ALL EXHIBITORS Notice to Parents and/or Guardians Any child attending to exhibit or otherwise participate at any event organised by, licensed by, or otherwise under the auspi- ces of the Irish Kennel Club Ltd remains the responsibility and in the care of their parent or guardian at all times. This is an outdoor event All Rings are outdoors. PLEASE NOTE YOUR DOGS AND YOUR POSESSIONS ARE YOUR RESPON- SIBILITY AND SHOULD NOT BE LEFT UNATTENDED AT ANY TIME 5
CLASS DEFINITIONS (The word 'Dog' includes both sexes) A Baby Puppy Class is confined to dogs over 4 and less than 6 months of age on the day of the Show. Dogs entered in this class are not eligible to challenge for the Green Star and may not take part in any further competition except Best Baby Puppy in Show. A Puppy Class is confined to dogs of 6 months and under the age of 12 months on the day of the Show. A Junior Class is for dogs between 9 and 18 calendar months of age on the first day of the Show computed from and inclusive of the date of its birth. An Intermediate Class is for dogs between 15 and 24 calendar months of age on the day of the Show. An Adult Class is for dogs between 24 and 36 calendar months of age on the first day of the Show. Open Class is for dogs over 15 months of age on the day of the Show. Champions Class is for dogs who have gained the title of Champion under the rules and regulations of the Irish Kennel Club or another recognised Kennel Authority confirmed by the date of closing of entries. Veteran Class is for dogs over eight years of age on the day of the Show. Please note – a Veter- an Dog who is also a Champion may enter in either Veteran or Champion Class but not both. Field Trial Class is confined to dogs who have won at least a reserve in a Puppy, Novice, Derby or Open Stake as defined in the Field Trial Rules & Regulations. ••••••••••••••••••••••• Champion Stakes is for dogs who have gained the title of Champion under Irish Kennel Club rules or under another recognised Kennel Authority confirmed by the date of closing of entries. All exhibits entered in stake classes must be entered in their relevant breed class with the exception of Champion or Veteran Stake Classes: The Stake Classes at this Show are separate from the breed judging and do not come under the rules of the Green Star System. An exhibit which has been beaten in a Stake Class but wins Best of Breed may proceed to compete in its relevant Group. Please Note:-All dogs entered for this Show must be registered or transferred at the Irish Kennel Club or other FCI Kennel Club in the name of the Exhibitor. Only dogs entered at this Show are allowed on the Show Grounds.(This will be strictly enforced) The decisive date in respect of age is the day the dog is shown 6
OBEDIENCE CLASS DEFINITIONS Pre –Beginners Obedience Class Confined to dogs or handlers which have not been awarded a first prize (on or under 10 marks) in any obedience test under Irish Kennel Club Rules or under any Kennel Club recognised by The Irish Kennel Club. Beginners Obedience Class Confined to dogs or handlers which have not been awarded an Obedience Green Star or awarded three or more first prizes (on or under 10 marks) in any obedience test under Irish Kennel Club Rules or under any Kennel Club recognised by The Irish Kennel Club. Novice Obedience Class Confined to dogs which have not been awarded an Obedience Green Star or four or more first priz- es (on or under 10 marks under Irish Kennel Club regulations) in any Obedience class other than in Beginners Obedience class. Class A Obedience Confined to dogs which have not been awarded an Obedience Green Star or four or more first priz- es (on or under 10 marks under Irish Kennel Club regulations) in any Obedience Class other than in Beginners and Novice Obedience classes. Class B Obedience Confined to dogs which have not been awarded a Green Star or four or more first prizes (on or under 10 marks under Irish Kennel Club regulations) in any Obedience Classes with the excep- tion of Beginners, Novice or Graduate Obedience classes. Class C Ch. Obedience Open to all. 7
RULES FOR GROUP JUDGING & BEST IN SHOW 1. The Irish Kennel Club will not accept any responsibility nor be under any obligation to see that dogs eligible to compete are exhibited in their particular Groups, or for Best in Show, other than announcing in the ring that judging is about to take place. The Irish Kennel Club will not accept any responsibility in the case of an exhibit that is excluded from competing in a Group, owing to the judging of its breed not having been completed, or for any other reason. 2. Competition in Group Classes will be confined to undefeated winners in their breed. 3. No dog shall be entitled to compete in a Group where any prize or award has been with- held from it in its breed at the show. 4. A fee will not be payable for entry in any of the Groups nor for Best in Show. 5. Groups will be divided into ten sections - as defined in the Irish Kennel Club Rules & Regulations. 6. Upon entering the Group Ring Competitors must produce their correct ring number. 7. In each Group and Best in Show the judges shall make the following awards: viz, 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. to 4th place. 8. Competition for Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show is confined to the winners of the ten groups. 9. If the Group Judging has not commenced before 4:30 p.m. a Best of Breed winner may leave the show but must notify the Show Secretary in writing that the exhibit will not be present for the Group judging. Otherwise all exhibits qualified for the Group must be exhibited therein. An exhibit failing to report for the Group will incur a fine of €100 and be disqualified from all wins on the day unless a valid reason is lodged with the Show Secretary before judging commences. STAKES CLASSES The Stakes Classes scheduled at this Show are separate from the Breed Judging and do not come under the rules of the Green Star System, e.g. An exhibit which has been beaten in a Stakes Class but wins Best of Breed may proceed to compete in its relevant Group. All exhibits who wish to enter Stakes Classes must be entered in their relevant Breed Classes with the exception of Champions/Veterans who may enter the Stakes Class only. A separate judge other than the Best in Show or Group judge must be used for stakes classes (Best in Show qualified) (effective from the 1st January 2011) Breeds not separately listed at National Championship Shows Breeds Not Separatley Listed must be scheduled in each of the ten groups. Entries received in this class must be divided into breed sections. A Judge may award a Green Star, and Best of Breed to any dog unbeaten and eligible, if in his/her opinion they are of suffi- cient quality. CROPPED DOGS Cropped dogs are not permitted to be exhibited at any Irish Kennel Club licenced event 8
