The Club will permit a transfer to the next level class in accordance with AKC regula ons. The request for a Transfer must be made in wri ng and presented to the Superintendent at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the specified event, show or trial. Transfer forms will be available at the Superintendent’s Table. For Obedience & Rally Trials, transfers will be allowed provided the class is available and the transfer will not make a judge go over limit. (FYI “available” means a class cannot be created at the Trial. If, for instance, there is no U lity A class - with a judge’s book and a place on the schedule - no one can transfer to U lity A). The same is true of Rally transfers. For Conforma on classes, transfers must be made no later than 30 minutes before the beginning of judging on Sunday, June 20, 2021. Note: Per AKC rules, your dog’s age for Regular & Non-Regular Conformation entry is calculated as of Monday, June 21, 2021. In Addition: Any age related Regular & Non-Regular Conformation Class entry will determine the age appropriate entry in Sweepstakes/Veteran Sweepstakes Classes. Judges’ Education Seminar Following the regular class bitch judging on Monday, June 21st, the BCCA will host a judge’s edu- ca on seminar, led by Nicole Conner. This seminar is a great opportunity for prospec ve Beardie judges as well as anyone who would like to learn the finer points of our breed standard, judging our wonderful breed, AND want to put your knowledge into prac ce through hands-on experi- ence. Please come and join us, the fee is $30, and includes a copy of the BCCA Illustrated Stand- ard. There will also be Ringside mentoring by BCCA Mentors during class dog and bitch judging, as well as Best of Breed. A check box is on the entry form to indicate that the entry is Bred by Exhibitor eligible. **Points Available for Reserve** The Bearded Collie Club of America, Inc. will award at its Na onal Specialty a three point major to Reserve Winners Dog if the Regular Class Dog entry is twice the required number for a five point major in the division where the Na onal Specialty is held. Classifications The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches Puppy, 6 months & under 9 months Bred By Exhibitor Puppy, 9 months & under 12 months American Bred 12 months & under 15 months Open 15 months & under 18 months WINNERS Amateur Owner Handler Best of Breed Compe on Non-Regular Classes (involving Single Dog Entries) Veteran Classes – For dogs and bitches seven years of age and older. In accordance with Chapter 11, Sec on 8, veteran dogs and bitches may be spayed or neutered at specialty shows. All winners of Veteran Classes, if otherwise undefeated, are eligible to compete for Best of Breed. First place winners of the Veteran Dog and Veteran Bitch Classes will compete for Best Veteran Dog and Best Veteran Bitch a er Best of Breed. The Following Classes Are Provided For Both Dogs & Bitches Veteran, 7 Yrs. & under 10 Yrs. ● Veteran, 10 Yrs. & under 12 Yrs. Veteran, 12 Yrs. & under 14 Yrs. ● Veteran, 14 Yrs. & Older Performance Classes – For dogs and bitches, 6 months of age and over, that have earned at least one tle in any AKC Companion or Performance Event (Agility, Herding, Obedience, Rally or Tracking). Dogs entered in these classes must not have been neutered or spayed. By virtue of winning these classes, the dog and bitch are eligible to compete for Best of Breed provided they have not been defeated in any other class. Performance Dog ● Performance Bitch Sexually Altered Classes – For dogs & bitches, six months of age or over, that have been neutered or spayed. The dog & bitch winning these classes are not eligible to compete for Best of Breed. Sexually Altered Dog ● Sexually Altered Bitch Non-Regular Classes (involving Multiple Dog Entries) NOTE: As the judges’ decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Brace Class is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in this class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. Chapter 11, Sec on 8 of the Dog Show Rules provides that a “castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class.” Stud Dog Class – For Stud Dogs and two (2) of their get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their get. Owner of Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condi on that would require its disqualifica on or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Get must be entered individually in one of the Regular Classes, Performance Classes or Best of Breed Compe on Brood Bitch Class – Same as Stud Dog, except subs tute “Brood Bitch” for “Stud Dog” and “Produce” for “get”. Brace Class – Two dogs of the same breed/variety, regardless of sex, and must have at least one common owner and presented by a maximum of two handlers. The dogs comprising a Brace MUST be named at me of entry. If a dog that is to be part of a Brace is not entered in another class, it must be entered for “Brace Class Only.” In making entries for “Brace Class Only,” full par- culars must be given for each dog on individual regular entry forms. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as a part of a Brace MUST be marked accordingly in the space provided for Addi onal Classes, “Brace Class.” If more than one Brace is entered by the same owner, the dogs comprising EACH Brace must be so designated, “Brace No. 1,” “Brace No. 2,” etc. Saturday, June 19 - Tuesday, June 22, 2021 9
*BEST OF BREED COMPETITION – Undefeated dogs ONLY are eligible to compete for Best of Breed. All Best of Breed Dogs will be judged to their en rety. Bitches do not need to come into the ring to be checked at this point. The Best of Breed Bitch judging will follow to their en rety. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed Compe on: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which according to their owner's records, have complet- ed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The show- ing of unconfirmed champions in Best of Breed Compe on is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. Grand Champion Compe on – The following categories of dogs are entered in this compe on: • Dogs that are Champions of Record compe ng in Best of Breed or Best of Variety class. • Dogs transferred to Best of Breed/Variety which according to their owners´ records have com- pleted the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. • Champions that win Non-Regular Classes and become eligible for Best of Breed compe on. (Altered or spayed CH veteran class winners at independent special es are eligible.) • Winners Dog and Winners Bitch are not eligible for Grand Champion compe on. At the judge´s discre on, Grand Championship points may be awarded to • Best of Breed or Variety • Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed or Variety • Select Dog • Select Bitch Grand Champion compe on will not con nue beyond Best of Breed compe on. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION Novice • Open • Master Class Novice Class - shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class. A first place in Novice without competition leading to a Best Junior award with competition would count as one win towards moving to Open at a licensed or member show. Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition, if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open, after the closing of entries for a show are required to transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class by notifying the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. Open Class - shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards moving to Open in a licensed or member show. Master Class - will be for boys & girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and must change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year. No entry may be changed or cancelled unless notice of the change or cancellation is received in writing by the Superintendent or Show Secretary named in the premium list to receive entries, prior to the closing date and hour for entries, except that a correction may be made from one age division to another, as well as, move from Master to Open or Open to Novice if a win has been disallowed or the Junior miscalculated number of placements, provided this transfer is made by the Superintendent or Show Secretary prior to the judging of the class at the show. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. Veteran Sweepstakes Veteran Sweepstakes is open to all Bearded Collies who on the day of the show will be at least seven (7) years of age or older. Veteran Sweepstakes will be judged prior to the Regular Classes. Indicate "Veteran Sweepstakes" and Age Division on the regular entry form under "Addi onal Classes". AKC Sanctioned Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Competition Thursday, June 22, 2021 One combined class will be offered for Bearded Collies that are (4) four months & under (6) six months. There will be a selection of Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy & Best of Opposite Sex to Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy. An AKC registration number or AKC litter number will be required for entries in this competition. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin. Dogs are required to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian's pro- tocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized. Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must be handled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or other- wise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited by current assistants and household members of a professional han- dler. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges. Male puppies without 2 fully descended testicles need not be disqualified or excused but the judge’s book must de- scribe the condition and Certificate of Merit points must be withheld. Dogs with breed standard disqualifications should not be excused but may not receive place- ments. However, dogs with age related disqualifications such as color (as related to age), height, teeth etc. are permitted to receive awards in the 4-to-6 Month Puppy classes. PARKING Exhibitor and visitor parking will be located on blacktop parking lots in front of the Purina Event Center. Vehicles are limited to one parking space. No Ex-Pens or Crates allowed on blacktop, but are allowed on grass areas. No cones allowed in parking areas. No parking in roadways or next to building. CRATING & GROOMING Bathing of dogs is limited to the bathing area, located next to the grooming hall. No dogs are allowed in the bathrooms. Dogs may NOT be le in the building overnight. The Building will be locked at 10 pm and opened at 6 am. No cones are allowed inside the building. NO Ex-Pens al- lowed inside the building at any me. Please stack your crates and limit the number of tables. All vehicles must leave their headlights on while unloading. NO VEHICLES MAY BE PARKED NEXT TO BUILDING OR IN ANY ROADWAY. VIOLATORS WILL BE TOWED AT OWNER’S EXPENSE. EXHIBITORS & GUESTS No one is permi ed anywhere that is marked “Employees Only” and/or “No Admi ance.” These are separate divisions of Purina and are not part of the show grounds. The Bearded Collie Club of America does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC entry form for this event. BCCA STANDING RULE 8.1.7: Discipline at Show and Hotel Premises. Anyone who allows a dog to urinate or defecate in the halls of the hotel or in any public or private areas, including their room, or anywhere on the grounds not designated for relief and not cleaning it up will be fined the sum of $25, made payable to the BCCA by cash or check. If the same person is reported for a sec- ond offense, they will be asked to leave the hotel or grounds. Two non-commercial vehicles are permi ed to park per camping space in the upper full lot which includes two cars or one (tow) vehicle and one addi onal vehicle. All addi onal vehicles must park in the general parking lot. RV site numbers will be assigned two weeks prior to the reserva on. Upper Full hook-up lot has 20/30/50 AMP electric, water and sewer. A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each recordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2). A $3.50 AKC Recording Fee will be required for the first entry in Rally and $3.00 for each additional entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 5). A $2.00 Event Service Fee will be required for each entry in 4-6 Month Beginner Puppy. These Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club. RETURNED CHECKS / INVALID CREDIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry. The Superintendent will add a collection fee of $25 to the amount of each returned check and credit card. Subsequent returned checks and credit card from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a cash-only basis. Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee. No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturb- ances, fire, extreme and or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent. No Refund for Duplicate Entries. Every effort to find all duplicate entries will be made; however, if entry has been processed, no refund will be made. Refunds made for cancellation of entries before the closing date will be subject to a $3.00 administrative/ processing fee per entry. No Entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its acceptance. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Those received by telephone are not acceptable. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up the class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations. The show giving club, the Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc., assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children.
