Attention Exhibitors Exhibitor Rule Change Effective 01/01/2010. Chapter 11, Section 1. No dog shall be exhibited in a licensed or member dog show, except for dogs entered in the Miscellane- ous Class unless it is either individually registered in the AKC Stud Book or individually registered with a foreign registry organization whose pedigrees are acceptable for AKC registration. For complete detail see Rules Applying to Dog Shows, Chapter 11, Section 1. On May 12, 2010 the Grand Championship competition will start concurrent with the implementation of the 2010-2011 Schedule of Points. Competition for this new title will be judged concurrently with Best of Breed competition at both all-breed and specialty shows. Effective for all events held on and after January 1, 2008. The American Kennel Club will collect a $3.00 Event Service Fee for the first entry of a dog and a $3.00 service fee for each additional entry of the same dog in the regular and non-regular recordable single entry classes, in all AKC licensed and member club events. The current 50 cents recording fee will continue to be collected where applicable. The event-giving club shall assume the responsibility of collecting all Events Service Fees for the American Kennel Club. These event services and recording fees shall be forwarded to the American Ken- nel Club along with all other required event results with seven (7) days of the close of the event. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: Entries will be acknowledged after entries close with entry acknowledgment and judging program to address on entry. Should exhibitor NOT re- ceive an acknowledgment within a reasonable time, Please notify the Show Secretary at the address provided. No entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telephone, telegraph, and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and photocopies of Entry Forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or Show Secretary assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner’s agent entered a dog in a class in which the dog is not eligible to compete. THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COMPLETE- NESS OF ANY ENTRY RESTS SOLELY WITH THE ENTRANT. Entry fees shall not be re- funded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or be- cause it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fee for bitches in sea- son. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to com- plete the Show, No refund of entry fee may be made. No dogs will be allowed in the show area except those regularly entered in the Show. The judging will start promptly. Dogs may arrive anytime prior to their time of judging and may leave immediately thereafter unless required for further judging. It is the re- sponsibility of the exhibitor to have his dog ready to be shown and at the entrance of the judging ring when the steward calls for the class. LOSS OR DAMAGE: The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors but will not be responsible for or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune to either dogs or exhibitors participating in this Event. The welfare of an exhibitor’s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the exhibitor. The Club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All Trophies must be claimed the day of the show. None will be mailed or otherwise distributed. CLASS CASH PRIZES will be paid in the ring to the persons showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging of that Breed is over and the show secretary’s office is advised at once. The Show Secretary and Show giving Club disclaim any liability for cash prize after the judging of the Breed is over. For everyone’s safety no baby strollers or wheeled child carriers are allowed on the show grounds. All PERSONS ATTENDING THIS DOG SHOW hereby waive any claim for damages against Golden Gate Pembroke Welsh Corgi Fanciers, Inc. its members, or agents, in the event a motor vehicle must be entered to rescue a dog from overheating or suffocation due to improper ventilation. There will be one class for dogs and one class for bitches. Champions of Record may compete. Dogs will be judged by the PWCCA Breed standard with the exception that all entrants must be spayed or neutered. ACCOMODATIONS - LOS GATOS LODGE 50 Los Gatos - Saratoga Road, Los Gatos, CA 95032 Phone - 408-354-3300 800-231-8676 Rooms - Rooms are limited. The deadline for the GGPWCF special room rate is April 30, 2014. Individuals should call under the block name of Golden Gate Pembroke Welsh Corgi Fanciers, Inc. when making reservations. The group block code is GGCORG. ROOM RATES - These rates are based on single or double occupancy. An additional charge of $10.00 per person will apply for each additional person. The current transient occupancy tax is 10%, subject to change. Single Queen - $109.00 2 Double Beds - $119.00 King - $119.00 Suite, Kitchenette, one bed - $149.00 Cancellations & Deposit - The Los Gatos Lodge has a 24 hr cancellation policy for individual guest rooms. Guests must cancel their reservation by 6:00 p.m. the day prior to arrival or the first night’s room & tax will be charged to their credit card. The above room rates include a compli- mentary continental breakfast, with many choices. A NONREFUNDABLE pet fee of $20/day will be charged for the first 3 pets in the room. In addition, a flat fee of $25 will be charged for a 4th pet in the room. There will be a maximum of 4 dogs in the room. A $100 charge will apply to rooms with an unreasonable amount of hair. Exercise & Grooming - X-pens can be set-up on the lawn, however, they may be watering every night. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING OUT TO GET WET. Pads are necessary and must be re- moved overnight. Dog are not allowed to sleep in cars or outside at night. There will be an ex- ercise area setup in the parking area. Do not bathe or groom your dogs inside the rooms. There will be grooming and bathing area set-up in the parking area. RV PARKING - The Lodge will allow ten (10) motor homes, with no hookups, but for every motor home, one room must be purchased for the night. There is no-charge for the motor homes other than the rooms. Out of consideration for all of our guests, generators not housed within the unit may only be operated during the hours of 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, and must be equipped with a muffler. NOTICE - LOS GATOS LODGE The GGPWCF has worked diligently to find the Lodge for its Specialty Site. Please help us to extend our welcome by keeping rooms and grounds damage free. We request that all guest staying at the Lodge in conjunction with the GGPWCF Specialty, adhere to the following rules. 1. Trash bags will be furnished. Please use them in your room(s) for refuse, dog hair, uneaten dog food, etc. If you need more, please ask the show committee. 2. Plastic tarps or bags must be used under your crates in the rooms. These will be provided by the GGPWCF, and will be available to you at the front desk at check in. 3. Do not bathe or groom our dogs in the hotel rooms. 4. Relieve your dogs away from the room area. REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR POOPER SCOOPER It is your responsibility to pick up after your own dog! 5. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG(S) UNCRATED IN THE ROOM IF YOU ARE NOT THERE! 6. Keep your dog quiet and under control at all times. 7. Remove all dogs and puppies from exercise pens on the ground by 7:00 pm. They may be walked on a leash after 7:00 pm. On Sunday morning do not put dogs out until after 8:00 am. Keep them in your room or RV unless you are there to supervise them. This request is made for the animals’ safety and for the peaceful sleeping of all Lodge guests. We want this Specialty to be a pleasure for you and for us. It can only be a pleasure if we work together to eliminate any problems. We are asking the Lodge Staff to promptly notify us of any negative situation during the specialty. Puppy (9 mos. & under 12 mos.) 12 mos. & under 18 mos. Amateur-Owner-Handler Bred-By-Exhibitor American Bred Open NON-REGULAR CLASSES (INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES) Veteran Class (7yrs & Older) The winners of veteran classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed. Any veterans defeated in these classes may not compete for Best of Breed, even if entered in the class. Neutered dogs and spayed bitches are allowed to compete in Veterans Classes only at independent specialties shows. Only a First Place winner will be selected. All other exhibitors shall receive participation rosettes. Herding Titled Class Class for dogs/bitches that has achieved a Herding Title (HT, PT, HS, JL, HX, HCh). By virtue of winning this class, the dog/bitch is entitled to compete for best of breed. Best of Breed Competition Best of Breed Competition : The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed/Variety Competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which according to their owner’s records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed/Variety Competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the require- ments for a championship. Grand Champion Competition: The following categories of dogs are entered in this competition: 1. Dogs that are Champions of Record competing in Best of Breed or Best of Variety class. There are no additional entry fees or cost to exhibitors for participation in this competition at AKC events. 2. Dogs transferred to Best of Breed/Variety which according to their owner’s records have com- pleted the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. 3. Champions that win Non-Regular Classes and become eligible for Best of Breed competition (Altered or spayed CH veteran class winners at independent specialties are eligible). 4. Winners Dog and Winners Bitch are not eligible for Grand Champion competition. And their winning BOB/BOV or BOS will still allow the awarding of Select Dog/Bitch to eligible dogs in the ring. At the judge’s discretion, Grand Championship points may be awarded to: 1. Best of Breed or Variety. 2. Best of Opposite Sex. 3. Select Dog. 4. Select Bitch. Grand Champion competition will not continue beyond Best of Breed completion and in breeds that are divided into varieties, Grand Champion Competition will not continue beyond Best of Breed/Variety competition. Award of Merit for Superior Quality: Award of Merit may be given at the Judge’s discretion to no more than five (5) exhibits of the Best of Breed class at its conclusion, with the exception of Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed. Amateur Owner Handler Eligibility: For dog that are at least six months of age that are not champi- ons. Dogs must be handled in the class by the registered owner of the dog and is limited to exhibi- tors who have not, at any point in time, been professional handler, AKC approved conformation judge, or employed as an assistant to a professional handler. Additionally, members of the imme- diate family or household of a current professional handler are ineligible for this class I as defined in Chapter 11, Section 13). Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay. Best Bred-By-Exhibitor and BBE Eligibility - All dogs entered in the Bred-By Class must be individu- ally registered with AKC. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog. Family members must be both a breeder and owner of record to exhibit in the class. Any entry in the Bred-By- Exhibitor classes that is awarded Best of Breed or Best of Winners would automatically be Best Bred-By-Exhibitor. Only the dog or bitch not defeated in Bred--By-Exhibitor are eligible for the Best Bred-By -Exhibitor competition. Best Puppy - Any entry in the puppy classes that is awarded Best of Breed or Best of Winners would automatically be Best Puppy. Only dogs not defeated in a puppy class are eligible for Best Puppy Competition. Best in American Bred Class. - Any entry in the American bred class that is awarded Best of Breed or Best of Winners would automatically be Best in American Bred Class. Only dogs not defeated in American bred class are eligible for Best In American Bred Competition. Best in Veteran Class. - Any entry in the Veteran class that is awarded Best of Breed would auto- matically be Best in Veteran Class. Only dogs not defeated in Veteran class are eligible for Best In Veteran Competition. Non-Regular Classes (Involving Multiple dog entries) As the judge’s decision in the Non-Regular Classes involving Multiple Dog Entries is based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, not one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won these classes. Stud Dog Class – For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the regular classes, or if a Champion of Record in Best of Breed Competition, but MUST be entered in the Stud Dog Class, the Get MUST be entered in one of the regular classes. The Stud Dog shall be considered as one entry and requires one entry fee, this being the regular fee plus the additional class fee if the Stud Dog is entered in another class. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ring with the Get. The class will be judged on the merits of the Get. OBEDIENCE TRIAL CLASSIFICATION REGULAR CLASSES: Novice A, Novice B, Open A, Open B, Utility A, Utility B, Beginner Novice A, Beginner Novice B RALLY TRIAL CLASSIFICATION REGULAR CLASSES: Novice A, Novice B, Advanced A, Advanced B, Excellent A, Excellent B SWEEPSTAKES Requirements & Classification Sweepstakes is open to all Pembroke Welsh Corgis who, on the day of the show, will be 6 months of age and under 18 months of age. Champions of Record are not eligible. All entries entered in the Friday Sweepstakes MUST also be entered in a regular conformation class on Saturday. Entries must be made at the same time on the same entry form as for the Regular entry, with the Sweepstakes class shown as “Additional Class”, giving the age divi- sion and including the additional fee as listed on the official AKC Entry Form. The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches: Puppy 6 mos. & under 9 mos. Puppy 9 mos. & under12 mos. Junior 12 mos. & under 15 mos. Junior, 15 mos. & under 18mos. VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES Requirements & Classification Veteran Sweepstakes is open to all registered dogs that are 7 years of age or older on the day of the show. Neutered dogs and spayed bitches may be entered in Veteran Sweepstakes. Entrants may or may not be finished champions. Dogs shown in Veteran Sweepstakes need not be entered in one of the regular classes or at the regular entry fee. Veteran Sweepstakes will be judged prior to regular classes.
