Making the most of your day Our Applicant Day is your chance to find out what it’s like to be a student at Oxford Brookes. Use this guide to help you plan your day. Here are our top 10 tips for making the most of your day. Attend a subject-specific talk Hear from academic staff and students and find out whether the course is right for you. Remember, we have four different campuses so please check the programme to see which site you need to start at to begin your day. Join our general talks Learn more about living at Oxford Brookes at our accommodation, admissions and finance sessions. Ask questions Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Whether it’s about student life, course modules or your career prospects. You need to be sure that you choose the right course for you.
Join our campus and accommodation tours Get a feel for the place and see what our campuses have to offer and where you could live. Bring a guest You can bring a maximum of two guests to the Applicant Day, however please be aware that there will be a limit of one guest per student to attend subject talks. Keeping each other safe Please take a lateral flow test and report the results to the NHS before you arrive on the day. Remember to bring a face covering as they need to be worn whilst on our campuses, unless you are medically exempt. Hand sanitising stations will be available too. Visit our health and safety measures on campus for more information. Parking & transport There is only pre-booked disabled parking available at Headington and Marston Road. We recommend you use public transport and local Park and Ride facilities. View detailed travel information. Check out our clubs and societies There is more to university life than just studying. Find out more about our exciting clubs and societies from Brookes Union, who will be based in Union Square (Headington Campus). Take photos It’s likely you’ll be taking in a lot of information, so why not take some photos to help remind you of the day? Our dedicated staff will be available to explain everything you need to know about accommodation, finance and admissions. Our team from Brookes Sport will also be there to answer any questions you might have. Event programme Our courses are taught across four campuses/sites, each with their own unique feel and community. To help you make the most of your Applicant Day experience, your subject-specific sessions will be hosted on the campus/site relevant to your course. There will be both subject-specific sessions and general talks on the day so please make sure you give yourself enough time to attend all sessions that are relevant to you. Headington Campus: Gipsy Lane site Headington Campus is one mile east of Oxford city centre and is our largest campus. It is home to a thriving student community living and learning in a modern, uplifting environment across three sites: Gipsy Lane, Headington Hill and Marston Road. It includes teaching space for all four of our faculties and is home to the main library. It has some of our most exciting spaces, including the landmark John Henry Brookes Building and our most recently completed redevelopment project, Clerici Building, which houses the Oxford Brookes Business School. Headington Campus: Headington Hill site Headington Hill site will be hosting an Applicant Day for those interested in Fine Art, Art and Design Foundation, Graphic Design, Digital Media Production, Film, Music and Photography. It will include subject-specific talks and drop-in sessions. Set in a tranquil mature park environment, you will find the Richard Hamilton building, on Headington Hill site, which provides some of the campus’ pooled teaching facilities for the School of Arts. Located across the road from our Gipsy Lane site, it’s easy to get to this site on Applicant Day. View your subject-specific sessions at Headington Campus.

Please note that the walking route to Clive Booth Student Village and the Marston Road site involves steps. If you require step-free access to travel between Gipsy Lane site, Headington Hill site and Clive Booth Student Village, we recommend you use the U1B bus service. Marston Road site Marston Road site will be hosting an Applicant Day for those interested in health and social care courses. It will include subject-specific talks and an opportunity to visit the clinical skill suites. Staff from finance, admissions and accommodation will also be on-site to answer any questions you may have. Marston Road site features a range of newly refurbished clinical skills suites. The site is less than a mile away from the John Radcliffe Hospital, which provides excellent placement opportunities for our students. Harcourt Hill Campus Harcourt Hill Campus will be hosting an Applicant Day for those interested in Education and English Language and Linguistics. Harcourt Hill Campus is three miles from the city centre and is a 110-acre campus with beautiful green spaces. It is home to several courses from our Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. There is a gym, swimming pool, sports centre and library with subject-specific librarians. Wheatley Campus Wheatley Campus will be hosting an Applicant Day for those interested in Engineering, Computing and Maths. This day will include hands-on activities, subject- specific talks and a tour of the campus. Wheatley Campus is only five miles from our Headington Campus and houses the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics. Set in 80 acres of lovely countryside, the site is equipped with excellent learning and teaching facilities, including a library, state-of-the-art labs, computer rooms, social learning spaces and a gym. Over the coming years, the courses based at Wheatley are expected to move to a brand new purpose-built facility at the Headington Campus.
