CEO'S DESK
On behalf of IISSSC I want to convey our heartiest
congratulations to the winners of World Skill Kazan 2019, Shri
S. Aswatha Narayana for Gold Medal in Water technology, Shri
Pranav Nutalapati for Silver Medal for Web technology, Shri
Sanjoy Pramanik for Bronze Medal in Jewellery Design and
Ms. Shweta Ratanpura for Bronze Medel in Graphic Design for
making our Country proud. I wish the winners and
participants of Team India World Skills Kazan 2019 all the best
in life.
Q2 has been particularly gratifying since in spite of severe
nancial challenges being faced by steel industries, 227
candidates trained in IISSSC job roles have found placement
for employment in 4 Rojgar Melas held in different states of
the Country like Rajasthan, West Bengal, Ahmedabad and
Agartala.
I am also happy to inform that a prototype model of a Steel
Plant showing various functions of steel making have been
presented to IISSSC by Tata Steel to be used for training

purposes. The model is installed in the headquarters of IISSSC.
Several important meetings were held at different forums
wherein CEO and IISSSC Officials attended and contributed in
the deliberations. Board Meeting, AGM and Internal Meeting of the Organisation was held during this
Quarter wherein the statutory formalities were complied and Tasks & Targets of the employees were
reviewed.
The overall performance of Q2 has been a vibrant one. I congratulate Team IISSSC for the same. I am
pleased to give a brief account of the various activities performed by our Organisation during this
period which are as follows: –
Meetings: Skill Development Summit - 7th Annual Skill Development Summit was held at New Delhi
wherein CEO IISSSC attended the meeting and participated in the discussions.
CXO Meet: Eastern India Regional CXO meet 2019 was held at Kolkata therein CEO attended and
made presentations.
Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development (PBSSD) and Wadhwani Foundation: The
workshop was intended to add value to PBSSD's current Model Carriculum and was attended by
IISSSC official.
National Scheduled Caste Finance Development Corporation (NSFDC): An awareness
programme was conducted by Shri Sapan Barua Asst. Director NSFDC with IISSSC and Training
Partners at IISSSC Head Office on working effectively in the area of skilling assessment & certi cation
and employment of the candidates.
Internal meetings by IISSSC were held for reviewing the activities, adopting and complying of
Statutory formalities etc.
Board Meeting & AGM- was held at the Registered Office for adopting Annual Report for FY 2018 -19
and reviewing the on-going activities.
Finance Committee Meeting – was held prior to submitting the Annual Accounts for FY 2018 – 19 to
Board of Directors, reviewing nancial statements for FY 2019 – 20 and analyzing of statements of
Income & Expenditure in line with Budget Vs Actual.
Internal Meeting - Presentations were made by Working Groups before CEO and Senior Officials about the ongoing activities, planning of future work and reviewing/revising of Tasks & Targets of the employees. Rojgar Melas & Workshops – 4 Rojgar Melas held during Q2 Churu Rojgar Mela at Rajasthan on August 8, 2019 – 33 candidates selected Bardwan Kalna Rojgar Mela at West Bengal on August 20, 2019 – 69 candidates selected Agartala Rojgar Mela at Tripura on September 1, 2019 – 95 candidates selected. MLA Shree Ram Prasad Paul attended the event and encouraged the candidates. Surendranagar Rojgar Mela at Ahmedabad on September 17, 2019– 30 candidates selected 3 Selecton Committee Workshops & Meetings for National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corporation (NSKFDC) Project were held at various parts of the country. Selection Committee Meeting at Halisahar West Bengal on August 13, 2019. Selection Committee Meeting at Asansol West Bengal on August 13, 2019. Selection Committee Meeting at Gyezing Gantok on August 19, 2019. Orientation Program of Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development (PBSSD) - An orientation program was held at Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science & Technology with IISSSC & Paschim Banga Society for skill Development (PBSSD) on August 28, 2019. MS Certi cation Services Pvt Ltd. an assessing body of IISSSC was invited to explain the assessment process. Administrative Activities Model of Steel Plant - Model of a steel plant showing elaborately the workings of all stages of steel making has been presented by Tata Steel to IISSSC to be used for training and de ning the Job Roles developed by IISSSC. Regular trainings on the Job roles are being imparted by our Training Partners, assessments being made by our Assessment Partners and certi ed candidates are being placed at various Organisations for employment. New Address for IISSSC Ranchi Office - From October 1, 2019 Ranchi Office has shifted to a new premises. The present Office address is : Indian Iron & Steel Sector Skill Council (IISSSC) Working Studio Co-working, JD Corporate Towers , Near Carnival Cinema, Ranchi Main Road, Ranchi, Jharkhand – 834001. Trainings: During this Quarter 166 Non-PMKVY candidates have been trained in various Job Roles by our Training Partners in various parts of the Country. Under RPL 4.0 following are the details of candidates Enrolled, Oriented, Assessed, Passed and Certied. Details are as follows: — Enrolled - 3318 — Oriented - 2113 — Accessed - 1066 — Passed - 1028 — Certified - 829
Under PMKVY 2.0 Training programmes during this period are as follows :
— Enrolled - 2196 — Trained - 1749 (a continuous process)
— Accessed - 2335 — Passed - 2229
— Certified - 2395 — Placed - 679

Inauguration of a Model of Steel Plant at IISSSC, Kolkata

A Model of Steel Plant was inaugurated at Indian Iron & Steel Sector Skill Council (IISSSC)
Head Office Karigari Bhawan Kolkata by Mr. P Madhusudan Chairman IISSSC, in presence
of Mr. Sushim Benerjee CEO IISSSC and other Members of its Board of Directors.
Success Stories
I completed Diploma in Automobiles but after completion of engineering I am
unable to get a job. After my friend told regarding PMKK and I joined course for
Fitter Electronic Assembly. They teached me Soldering, Wiring Safety Rules, about
Circuits, Personality Development, Basic computers. Because of these skills which I
learned in PMKK I got the job in DCIL. Trainers are also very good. They give me a
job in Tumkur, Karnataka only. Now I am very happy on PMKK and also suggesting
my friends to join PMKK. Pavan B L

I am Prathap S S studied Fitter Electronic Assembly in PMKK Tumkur Center,
Karnataka. I learned good skills in PMKK Center like Soldering, Wiring, Safety
Rules, about Circuits, Personality Development, Basic computers, English, Soft
Skills, Typing Master in computer. Because of these skills which I learned in PMKK I
got the job in Amazon Pay (Prione).Trainers are also very good they give me a job
in Tumkur only. Now my family and I am also very happy.
