Section 1 – Basic Regulations
1.1. Description of the Event

The Wings for Life World Run App Run and the Organised App Runs (to the extent permitted
in accordance with applicable state and local regulations and health guidelines (each the
“Event”) is made up of multiple simultaneous individual runner road running races around
the world (each an “Event Location”).** Please run individually and not with a group unless
permitted by state and local regulations and health guidance at the time of the Event in the
jurisdiction you plan to run. All participants, in all Event Locations, regardless of age, or
gender will start at the same time (11.00 a.m. UTC on May 3, 2021). There is no set race
distance, time, or finish line. The finish for all participants will be reached when each
participant is overtaken by the virtual catcher car that will be activated on the same time via
the Wings for Life World Run App.

At exactly 11.30 a.m. UTC, the virtual catcher car will cross the start line and drive the virtual
Race Track. Over time, the virtual catcher car will increase pace simultaneously until the
final participant is passed and a global winner is declared. (See chart below for details
regarding the pace of the catcher car). The overall winners of the Wings for Life World Run
worldwide will be the final female and final male participant who covers the greatest distance
before being passed by the catcher car.

11:30 UTC – Catcher Car Starts on Course – Pace: 14 km/hr (8.69 miles/hr)
12:00 UTC – Pace Increase: 15 km/hr (9.32 miles/hr)
12:30 UTC – Pace Increase: 16 km/hr (9,94 miles/hr)
13:00 UTC – Pace Increase: 17 km/hr (10,56 miles/hr)
13:30 UTC – Pace Increase: 18 km/hr (11.18 miles/hr)
14:00 UTC – Pace Increase: 22 km/hr (13.67 miles/hr)
14:30 UTC – Pace Increase: 26 km/hr (16.15 miles/hr)
15:00 UTC – Pace Increase: 30 km/hr (18.64 miles/hr)
15:30 UTC – Pace Increase: 34 km/hr (21.12 miles/hr)

1.2. Description of the Track

In order to take part in the event, each participant needs to run or move in a wheelchair
outside.** Each participant has to make sure that his or her phone is connected to a GPS
signal. Every Participant needs to run a minimum of 500 m lap to achieve a correct result.

1.3. Participation / Minimum Age

The Event is open to all individuals who are at least 18 years of age or older on May 3, 2020.
Through their participation, participants confirm that they are either of the age of majority in
their country of residence, or have obtained prior permission to all applicable terms and
conditions, including to the Participant Disclaimer form (“Participant Disclaimer”) and to
participate in the Run from their parent or legal guardian(s). Organizer will reserve the right

to require proof of age and identity for any participant. To participate in the Event, each
participant needs to have a fully charged smart phone with the most up-to-date version of
the Wings for Life World Run App downloaded and installed.

**Your safety is important to us. Stay healthy: Race only if you feel well. Before participating
in this event, please consult with your health care provider. Maintain a safe social distance
from others, and only race if you are healthy, not experiencing any symptoms of being unwell,
and have consulted your medical provider. Before racing, check all state or provincial and
local regulations for any prohibitions on group activities, outdoor activities or areas with
restricted access in your planned race area. For more information on social distancing see

https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019.                 Local      and
state/provincial authorities may have additional guidance that you should review.

For the Event, only standard wheelchairs are allowed. The use of electric wheelchairs or
other electric or motor-driven vehicles, mobility devices or aids is forbidden for the
Event. All such standard wheelchairs must have the following specifications for participation
in the Event:
    • Operated manually by pushing the hand rims with hands (no motorised sticks are
       permitted)
    • Two large rear wheels measuring between 20”and 26”
    • Two small front wheels measuring between 3” and 7”
    • Two push rims, and two brakes. The diameter of each push rim can only be 15%
       smaller than the diameter of the rear wheel rim
    • Folding or a rigid/non-folding wheelchair
    • Permitted wheelchair weight must be between 7 and 25 kg
    • Users need to sit in an upright position at 90 degrees
    • It is strongly recommended for tetraplegic people to have an anti-tipper. The
       disposition of the rear wheel has to be between 0 – 8 degrees

Participants will be divided into male and female categories in each race as well as in age
groups for information purposes.

By participating in the Event, the Participant represents that he or she does not have any
condition that would prevent him or her from safely participating in the Event or would pose
a present risk to others in his or her doing so. The Participant specifically represents and
warrants that he or she is not exhibiting any symptoms of being unwell, is not subject to any
ongoing or recommended quarantine, and is observing appropriate social distancing during
the Event and shall observe and comply with all local state/provincial and local regulations
and health guidance in the jurisdiction where Participant will participate. It is also
recommended that any Participant participating in the Event should consult his or her
medical practitioner prior to participation. Furthermore, each participant agrees that he or
she is not otherwise prohibited from participating in the Event for any reason. You must be
in possession of a valid personal liability insurance and personal accident / medical
insurance that cover your participation.

Section 2 – Event

2.1. Organized App Runs

Beside may have the opportunity to take part in an Organized App Run which will take place
on various places at the same time by registering via the Wings for Life World Run App . For
further information, please visit the website or see Organized App Run Locations in the App.

FOR ANY ORGANIZED APP RUN, RUN IN GROUPS ONLY AS MAY BE PERMITTED BY STATE
AND LOCAL REGULATIONS AND HEALTH GUIDANCE IN THE JURISDICTION WHERE SUCH
ORGANIZED GROUP RUN WILL TAKE PLACE AND SUCH ORGANIZED RUN SHALL COMPLY
WITH ALL STATE AND LOCAL REGULATIONS (INCLUDING ANY PROHIBITIONS ON GORUP
ACTIVITIES, OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES OR AREAS WITH RESTRICTED ACCESS IN THE
PLANNED RACE AREA AT THE TIME OF THE EVENT.

Execution of the Race

The following rules apply to the Event: the official start time at all Event Locations around
the world will be 11.00 a.m. UTC on May 3, 2020. (e.g.: UK will start at 12:00 local time;
Germany will start at 13:00 PM local time, USA Florida will start at 7:00 AM local time,
Taiwan will start at 7:00 PM local time, etc.).

A Participant will finish when the virtual Catcher Car passes him or her. Results will be
ranked in finish order by distance, NOT by time.

Any questions to the Organizer should be made in writing within 24 hours of the start of the
race   and    should    be    sent    to    the   following   contact     email    address:
results@wingsforlifeworldrun.com. All decisions of the Organizer are final and binding.

Subject to the Wings for Life App Run Terms of Participation, the Organizer reserves the
right to change the details of the Event, such as the date, start time, distance and/or
amenities offered in connection with the Event.

All rules are subject to changes. Please check for online announcements on
www.wingsforlifeworldrun.com as well as this Rule Book on a regular basis for more details.
If specifically requested via the contact form by the user, the Organizer shall endeavour to
email such information as reasonably practicable.

2.2. Determination of the Results

For the Event, there will be a results list per race as well as a single global results list
available following the race at www.wingsforlifeworldrun.com.

Results for each race and global will be organized as follows:
a)    Overall Men and
b)    Overall Women

c)     Men and Women by age categories (for informational purposes only; no awards are
       given for age group divisions):
       Women: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-
       74, 75-79, 80+.
       Men: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74,
       75-79, 80+.

The Organizer reserves the right to divide the Participants into further groups for purposes
of determining the results. In the case of an exact tie, the Participants will receive the
same ranking. In case of an exact tie between award winners, the Organizer will award
both such Participants the awards as described in the Terms of Participation
(https://files.wingsforlifeworldrun.com/events/2020/app/terms/terms_en_us.pdf). Organizer
reserves the right to disqualify a participant and remove such participant from the Event as
set forth in the Terms of Participation.

2.3. Disqualification / Removal from the Event

At any time during the Event, Organizer reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify
any participant for any failure to observe the Terms of Participation or the Rule Book or
where applicable any other kind of illegal or inappropriate behaviour, including but not limited
to: his/her behaviour at the Event or any Event-related activities at any point is disruptive,
may or does cause damage to person, property or the reputation of the Organizer; providing
false information on the entry forms; for unsportsmanlike conduct; competing with an
unofficial number or device; competing with an official number assigned to another person
or from another Event; transferring or attempting to transfer an official number to, or to obtain
such number from, another person; being paced during the race by a person not entered in
the Event and for medical or safety reasons. In the event that a winning Participant is
disqualified, the award will be forfeited and/or may be donated or awarded to an alternate
winner. No refund will be granted to any disqualified Participant for any reason. Individuals
disqualified from an Event will be removed from the official results.

Section 3 – Event Notes

3.1. Pacing, Communication and Prohibited Items

No equipment (with the exception of wheelchairs as outlined above) such as bicycles or
inline skates may be allowed to aid participants in any way. Although iPods, MP3 players,
radios, cell phones, headphones, or any similar devices are permitted, the Organizer
strongly recommends that you exercise caution, especially on road sections and ensure that
the headphones are set at a safe volume level to allow you to hear your surroundings. You
must use common sense and show a duty of care to others. Please run in accordance with
all state and local guidelines in the jurisdiction where you will be participating. Children are
not permitted to participate in the Event. The Organizer is not liable for any incidents caused
by the use of devices such as iPods, MP3 players, radios, cell phones, headphones, or any
similar devices. Participants are not allowed to run with friends or family who are not officially
registered in the race. Pets are not allowed on the Race Track for safety reasons.

Participants should maintain possession of their belongings at all times. The loss, damage,
or theft of any items left in changing rooms or common areas are not the responsibility of
Race Staff.

3.2. Doping Prohibition

You are prohibited from using any substance for the purpose of enhancing your performance
at the Event and are not allowed to use any substance or procedures prohibited by any local
laws or the International Association of Athletics Federations (“IAAF”) as published under
http://www.iaaf.org/about-iaaf/documents/anti-doping. Participants should check with their
physician to ensure medication that they are taking is not a prohibited substance. The
Organizer reserves the right to ensure compliance with the doping rules.

3.3. General

To the extent permitted by law, Organizer reserves the right to change the Terms of
Participation and this Rulebook from time to time and such changes will be available on
www.wingsforlifeworldrun.com. In the event of any conflict between this Rulebook and the
Terms for Participation, the Terms for Participation shall prevail.

The Organizer alone is responsible for enforcing all rules and regulations. Any internal or
external images, either still or moving, are not admissible as evidence.

Unless otherwise defined in this Rule Book all capitalised terms used herein shall have the
same meanings ascribed to them in the Terms of Participation.

3.4    Safety

Your safety is important to us. Before participating in this event, please check with
your health care provider. Maintain a safe social distance from others, and only race
if you are healthy, not experiencing any symptoms of being unwell, and have
consulted your medical provider. Before racing, check all state/provincial and local
regulations for any prohibitions on outdoor activities in your planned race area or
areas with restricted access in your planned race area.

FOR ANY ORGANIZED APP RUN, RUN IN GROUPS ONLY AS MAY BE PERMITTED BY STATE
AND LOCAL REGULATIONS AND HEALTH GUIDANCE IN THE JURISDICTION WHERE SUCH
ORGANIZED GROUP RUN WILL TAKE PLACE AND SUCH ORGANIZED RUN SHALL COMPLY
WITH ALL STATE AND LOCAL REGULATIONS (INCLUDING ANY PROHIBITIONS ON GORUP
ACTIVITIES, OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES OR AREAS WITH RESTRICTED ACCESS IN THE
PLANNED RACE AREA AT THE TIME OF THE EVENT.

3.4   WAIVER AND AGREEMENT TO HOLD HARMLESS

READ THIS AS IT AFFECTS YOUR RIGHTS.

PARTICIPATION IN THE APP RUN AND/OR ANY ORGANIZED APP RUN IS
VOLUNTARY AND DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK. ANY EXERCISE ACTIVITY HAS RISK.
RUNNING INDIVIDUALLY ON A ROUTE OF MY CHOOSING WITHOUT SECURITY OR
ANY SUPPORT MEASURES IN PLACE IS A POTNETIALLY HAZARDOUS ACTIVITY,
WHICH COULD RESULT IN INJUURY OR DEATH. CONSULT YOUR MEDICAL
HEALTH CARE PROVIDER BEFORE PARTICIPATING, INCUDING ABOUT THE RISK
OF INJURY OR EXPOSURE TO ILLNESS INCLUDING COVID-19 WITH ANY ACTIVITY
IN WHICH YOU MAY COME INTO CONTACT WITH OTHERS. RACE IN ACCORDANCE
WITH ALL STATE/PROVINCIAL AND LOCAL GUIDELINES AND REGULATIONS
WHERE YOU INTEND TO PARTICIPATE (AND ONLY IF PERMITTED). OBSERVE
APPROPRIATE SOCIAL DISTANCE.

BY CLICKING HERE AND PARTICIPATING, I CERTIFY I AM MEDICALLY ABLE TO
PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT, AND AM IN GOOD HEALTH, AND I AM PROPERLY
TRAINED. I FUTHER AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL
(CDC)’S RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PREVENTION OF THE SPREAD OF COVID-19
AND    ATTEST    TO   HAVING    READ   THE    CDC’S   GUIDANCE    AT
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html/index.html. I ATTEST THAT
IF MY COMMUNITY HAS A SHELTER IN PLACE ORDER THAT RESTRICTS MY
PARTICIPATION OUTRIGHT, I WILL ONLY PARTICIPATE USING A PERSONAL TREADMILL,
AND NOT OUTISDE. I AGREE TO FOLLOW ALL PEDESTRIAN SAFETY AND OTHER
ORDINACES.

HAVING READ THIS WAIVER AND KNOWING THESE FACTS AND IN CONSIDERATION OF
YOUR ACCEPTING MY ENTRY, I FOR MYSELF AND ANYONE ENTITLED TO ACT ON MY
BEHALF, HEREBY RELEASE THE SPONSOR, ANY SUBSIDIARIES, PARENT AND RELATED
PARTIES, THIER REPRESENTATIVES AND SUCCESSORS FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS
AND LIABILITIES OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF MY PARTICIPATION IN THIS VIRTUAL
EVENT, AND HEREBY FOREVER WAIVE MY ABILITY TO BRING ANY LEGAL ACTION AS I
AM VOLUNTARILY ELECTING TO RUN ON MY OWN AS PART OF THIS VIRTUAL EVENT.
