May 3-May 7: Teacher Appreciation Week May 6: National Nurses Day MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL: Dear RINI Students and Families, Last week I was excited to hear about more opportunities for vaccination eligibility for Rhode Island students 16 years old and up. Our goal is not only to educate the next generation of nurses, but to also to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all our RINI Middle College students and staff and community. We began weekly COVID testing using the BinaxNOW rapid test for students and staff in February of this year. So far 967 tests have been conducted in our RINI community; this includes 217 staff members and 533 students. We are proud to announce that all tests have been negative! COVID vaccination has been integral in creating a thriving and healthy community. To date, of our 36 staff, 89% have received one dose and 81% are fully vaccinated. We encourage all our students over 16, as well as staff and families to get vaccinated. This week we are dedicating our newsletter to providing updates and resources for RI vaccination. We sincerely believe that a healthy community is a community that thrives. Let us thrive together.
